CrCTI Coming soon With working JIP

After many months of coding and testing, we are finally ready to release a beta version of Crcti with JIP. It has been reworked and quite a lot of new items added, but we need help in finding more bugs.

New features added

- Ability to add floating objects, eg place AT guns,HMGS on walls or buildings

- reworked GUI to give functionality

- Added map feature to command AI

- Players blocked from swapping sides once ingame

- new island, desert Island

- plus heaps more stuff cant remember..LOL

We are in the final proccess of updating the latest version for release. Now its still in beta mode and we are aware of a few bugs especially when players have slow connection and try joining.

Known issues Being worked on

- when joining player may not receive cash (go back to lobby and rejoin game)

- Unable to use the comms centre to buy remotely

- Player cannot rejoin after leaving (must take slot on same side) this was to stop players leaving and rejoining on the other team to give base location away (this is not a bug)

Big thanks to Squeeze the main scripter whos persistance and dedication has gotten us this far, also thanks to Dr Eyeball for coming on board and rewriting the GUI and helping squeeze with the coding.

I'll post the mission shortly.

Nice.

I like these cannons on the walls with the stairs.

Looking forward to build my own castle. The only thing missing now is a moat around it. wink_o.gif

Great stuff Aussie, Squeeze, Dr Eyeball & OGN crew (and others).

Ive been following the thread over on OGN for a while now, because I've been waiting on a good CTI and Queens Gambit to start playing Arma again. It's just like Christmas, both in the same week inlove.gif

Looking forward to testing it.

**FEEDBACK**

- "no entry\config.bin\cfmgarkers.sqmhq" at the very beginning as the player spawns. Doesn't seem to affect gameplay (yet?)

- Scroll Bars on the Leader board do not seem to work. (doesn't affect gameplay, only cuts off the bottom 1.5 players)

- In allot of places, Armour seems to move VERY slowly, constantly stopping and starting. This is with the non-dedicated server running at 30-50fps. I've had this issue with pretty much every CTI out there, so I don't think it is specific to your version. I've seen it blamed on the Sahrani Island itself, but it doesn't seem to happen in non-CTI missions.

- last night, about 2 hours into the mission, I lost the ability to call up the "Options" menu. It disappeared from the Action menu, and pressing "T" did not bring it up. I was playing as commander, and just continued playing by buying units from the respective buildings.

Testing on non-dedicated LAN server.

Mods active = Six Tracers, Six Misc, DM smoke effects, Madmatts Arma Effects, ModWar sound pack, RHS VDV & vehicles + replacement pack (not replacing weapons), Johnny's Marines + replacement pack & OGN CTI addons

Thats a suprise, I thought crCTI died for ArmA  smile_o.gif

Looking good so far, I think our server will be happy to test.

edit: looking at the screenies it looks like its based on 0.93

Why is that?

Mission will be named CrCTI_ OGN xx with xx denoting the release version

As for the 93 orginal version, Squeeze can answer that one I will plead the 5th, dunno..lol

Think Squeeze was having too much trouble with the 1.0rc, and decided to roll back a few version to get something more workable/reliable as base code for an ArmA version.

Great job from u. There wasnt been enought game to crcti in arma so maybe soon we can reach same popular level in arma than we did in OFP.

yer it's clean rocks .93, because 1.0rc in OFP would crash the server, the AI seemed to have more fun than the humans and

a group had already converted and was working on the ArmA version.

I'm ready to release, so just need someone to steal Dr Eyeball's propeller cap and we might get it out.

Heres it is. I have zipped the required addons plus the mission. Can be used in a mod or in addons folder.

1) very power hungry ...

2) bandwith wise , it's fine , thanks to arma net engine

3) well balanced , about town objective. team member choose differente town. probably more efficience than all on same flag.

EDIT2: under 30fps, my armored are frozed. we can't still not play a large scale war. (CPU conroe 3.02Ghz)

Were running it on an opteron and it runs fine, but your right it is a very CPU hungry game

Nice one smile_o.gif I'm running it with my DMSmokeEffects addon and it's nice to see smoke all over the place, even if the wrecks are gone. Gives a "history" to the battle. (Playing it SP ATM.)

One small bug - I selected the small vehicles building to spawn at, but I spawned inside a vehicle and died straight away, with another 25 second wait. Separate spawn areas would be better IMO smile_o.gif

i think there is a little problem. you mentioned the island "MAP_SSara" and you have provided the dl-link of it. but the map itselfs is based on the map Saralite. Your previous versions were based on MAP_SSARA. What is the right island?

the map works fine. ty for that. i got only 1 error message at the beginning "no entry\config.bin\cfmgarkers.sqmhq". but it doesnt seems to be a problem.

@DMarkwick: I've thought of moving the spawn pos for players

but wasn't sure where to put it since a vehicle might be there anyway.

Also I'd like to add that all AI slots should be left on, you can't JIP to a none AI slot.

for info , after few test, it seem armored can be freeze on ground. and it seem not related to framerate of server.

i was running at 40fps, and i was seeing an M1A1 stopped on ground, trying to move but stopped constantly.

no obstacle ahead. it may be script related. sad_o.gif

I've been looking into that bug that makes the track vehicles look like

they are stuck in mud, seems island related but not sure yet.

Also seems to effect the oppistion if no human player in on that side.....just been to busy with other stuff. confused_o.gif

Just 1 Q are you guys gonna move this to the Full Sahrani Island??? if Not would you guys mind if i did?

Well I did the full island with total 46 Capturable Places if you give me the ok I will post it on here if not I will hide it away on my server.

Btw I am Liking the aggressive AI. The blue lines showing where each AI is going is helpful.
