Thank You BIS for the TOOLS!

Recommended Posts

like i said in another topic, if BIS wants to make me and some others very very happy then please also release a sample model for the SLA Especas, it would help me and Skaven a lot.

There is a program called 3DRipperDX, you can use that to get any ArmA model. There's been some talk of it here before. Try google.

Anyway, now we can expect even better addons biggrin_o.gif

I have these models but they arent worth much because they are unmapped after ripping... plus i would prefer it if i wouldnt need to use a ripped model.

A model with short sleeves and shorts, like a RACS soldier or civilian would be helpful too so we have access to the entire mesh mapped to the face/hands texture files, and can create units that can be diverse in appearance.

True as the rolled up sleeves thing is hard to get right i also would love getting my hands on one of those models.

My guess is that BIS just released these few to learn and doesnt really want their models to be altered and re-released which i could understand.

Agreed, but the bare forearms and lower-legs, feet etc would have to be mapped to the existing face-texture sets to look correctly matched to the hands and head; which we know will be ported directly onto all custom-made units just as the OFP hands and heads were for years.

It'd be a lot easier if one could take the arm like they do the hand and not have to unwrap their own arm onto someone else's texture.

For the record, I'm not bitching about what we've been given, nor am I ungrateful for it. I just reckon such a model would be beneficial.

Thanks BIS, and as a general call to those who use the tools:

Please if you find a workaround for a problem, understand something that is not properly documented, find nifty shortcuts or anything that everyone else won't already know could you PLEASE write it, or summarise it on the Biki? I'm not demanding I am just requesting, but it'd be greatly appreciated by the "fledgeling" modders such as I.

Yay! Only took 9 months but its okay!

Please consider using these tools for ArmA2... so the modders dont have to work for years and then have no one play it b/c of arma2.

Can OFP2.Info/ArmedAssault.info have "addons" on their website now? smile_o.gif
