-duke- 0 Posted October 19, 2007 I actually tried FDF after installing and using Chammy's for a bit and I must say that it is indeed a pretty good sound mod however, I prefer Chammy's and use it religiously. I agree with those who think it all comes down to personal preference. I just hope you continue work on this Chammy and eventually replace as much of the stock sounds as possible because you have definitely upped the immersion factor of ArmA for me at least. I currently prefer FDF over Chammy's because they removed the beep-beep from vehicles being hit and the sonic CRACK is more realistic. However, I am more than ready to switch to Chammy's once the next update comes out.
LBpilot1 0 Posted October 19, 2007 chammy regarding cobra gun fire and sound. the sound of the the shots fires from cobra are too low compared to the hits. as you can see in this video you can hear the shots fired from far away and don't hear the hits. the first 20 seconds of this video you can hear the cobra chain gun over the sounds of the hits. Kamikaze666 0 Posted October 20, 2007 can't wait till the m4 sound gets changed + the voices need to be more realistic...

Actually everything has been changed from the original version, so posting anything about it is a bit of a waste of time. you can find examples of some of the changes he has made through out the rest of the pages
Winters1807 0 Posted October 24, 2007 jus wondering what the status of this mod is
chammy 7 Posted October 24, 2007 SO far, getting the nitty gritty down now, almost everything else has been changed, the vehicles, aircraft, some voices and teh annoying garbage truck beep, changed the radio beep I also have a cell phone beep there as random, extra supersonic pops, almost a seperate sound for every event like for artillery, Jav and AA launches are seperate from AT4 ( I hope ) random explosive sounds for each type of warhead that fit the type, main personal weapons are louder, a little more punch, though I'm still working on the rifles, reload sounds for the M2/Dshk and MK19/AG60 and for the M119 and D60, some combat jingle. This week I had confrontation in my personal life so I took some time off from my home........in a park :S.  Now my 2.5 year old son and oldest daughter have took up skateboarding so lately I have been teaching them (God help me when they get good)so yeah, I'm busy   All in good time though and in due time. I hope the next CSM will make a big difference in our game play.  Durg78 has been real busy as well with another great mod he has been working on and perfecting so hopefully when he has time for the config work on CSM, and ArmAVidz pumping out the quality near if already professional vids I tells ya. kroky 1 Posted October 25, 2007 It's kinda like the soundmod is another kid of yours.... Yes I know real life is more important than any computer game.. but then why are we all investing so much time into it.... Maybe it's because real life is more important but not as satistying as as computer simulation, isn't it?

Maybe it's because real life is more important but not as satistying as as computer simulation, isn't it? Well, when you have a project , a hobby, its like your "baby" aside from a real baby or child, and when it is done or complete, you can sit back and look at it and admire it, or for this matter, a mod, you create it, or "build it and they will come" saying, its pretty satisfying when you work hard on something and then its complete and then everyone likes it, its very ephoric. In computers, games, its an outlet, like when you're in a band, your playing a guitar or drums and getting good at it, is an outlet. Computers or computer games lets us escape reality for a little while. You cant shoot people in real life so why not in ArmA for that matter heh. Damn, I had typed this out better a few minutes ago but my son is rolling his Hotwheels over the keyboard and deleted everything I typed lol

malick 0 Posted October 26, 2007 We are all patiently waiting for your next update, Chammy ! I know that it's hard to find time and motivation for ArmA editing, even for playing, when you have a life, a job, a family... Currently I can just play ten minutes in the editor and have to quit because real life has other objectives But those ten minutes are definitely improved by your work ! Thanks Malick

I like playing ArmA, but making it better, is better Also, there's the secret little thrill of seeing something for the first time, that no-one else has. 343rdBadger 0 Posted October 26, 2007 umm...does this mod have the tank radio sounds in it??I had tried an old version and don't recall...and since then I've switched to arma xtreme 1.3,so I was wondering if this would solve the loss of the radio's in the new tank mods comming out? As far as I know, no, there is no radio sounds in this mod. Would be nice, though Like an additional voices/ambient sounds pack for v1.1 Malick

chammy 7 Posted November 6, 2007 Ok yall , I'm looking at a release sometime this week, (that is my goal ) so depending on what else I have to do in my personal life i will be able to finnish this, right before ArmAVidz will stick another vid later and I might be picking some testers as well before hand but not sure just yet, though, might be wise for testerss though. I'm trying to get some combat ambience together to release with this Beta, I mgiht have to mark as Beta, I was hoping for a last release but I'm not sure what I might need to change so sometime this week. TrunkzJr 0 Posted November 6, 2007 You should make a complete list of every single sound changed, and then people can add in what should be changed that isn't in the list. that way you don't have to release it (as much as I want it to) as a beta.

that way you don't have to release it (as much as I want it to) as a beta. Well see, that would be more like a "community sound mod" then I wouldnt be able to call it CSM and I wouldnt be able to say that the sounds are from myself and are authentic or real. UNLESS, you were just alking about a list "list" then true, might be a good idea.
malick 0 Posted November 6, 2007 Fantastic ! I'm really eager to hear the updated and the new sounds... Your mod is amongst the ones that keep ArmA alive ! Thank you for your time, Chammy (and all who contributed and/or helped). Now, let's cross fingers for a release sometime tomorrow (hehe, I have a free evening tomorrow !
