djackl 0 Posted June 11, 2007 I'm in the SAS. And a gay robot. Nephilim, you're a woman. Where does it say on the rules that you know anything about anything? Not least the SAS. To the thread starter - Attaching the SAS tag to an addon does not give it any more legitimacy.
Jonny_2LI 0 Posted June 11, 2007 gaymuthafuckingshitheadedfuckingwaltingarmchairexpertcuntingshagheadedfuckfacedtosspots,ne phalim you are a cunt, a pure and utter, utter cunt. JDB you have the "in the know" knowledge of my foreskin and whats more, you smell like it also. All of you, chill the fuck out, these units are toss, stop bigging them up when you all think the same thing for feck sake.
Rhodite 3 Posted June 11, 2007 Jonny_2LI & djackl Completely inappropriate posts. +1WL and 48HR PR Regarding the discussion in general, may I remind everyone you are speculating. The SAS are deliberately discreet. The likelihood someone here whom actually knows factual information regarding the SAS load outs and current activity is extremely low. Pathy 0 Posted June 12, 2007 Cockfight? I think everyones in agreement actually, that if people don't know what they're talking about, they ought to keep quiet. See, what you've said about looking at the pictures, well, the pictures you've posted are part of the problem, i know that at least 3 of them are *not* SAS, which throws into doubt the rest of them that i don't know for sure. So you might have eyes, but you don't have the required knowledge to say for sure what the pictures exactly show, what you're saying thus becomes misinformation as you are misinformed or making bad assumptions based on what you *think* you know. Do you see the point? It's not so much an issue of someone saying 'These look like they *could* be SAS', but someone like yourself saying 'These *are* SAS'. If you're speculating, make it clear you're speculating. Otherwise you end up sitting in that rather comfy armchair as posted above. I think Djackl was posting with heavy sarcasm btw, incase you missed it.
Sled88 0 Posted June 12, 2007 They really use the XM8? I herad any state wants to use this rifle, but I can't remember who... Anyway... I will remove the sidepatch of the units now. Then I will add units with that GI-hat. Ahhh and what do you think about an C8 Carbine with SD?

Sled88 0 Posted June 12, 2007 Guys, please... I think everyone has their own experiences with thing like this. I am thankful of every kind of help I can get from you...
Rhodite 3 Posted June 12, 2007 To prevent this degenerating any further.. It's already quite clear information regarding the SAS is thin on the ground.. old material I am sure is readily available on the net but again a lot of what you find on the net is opinion or subjective. Sled88 - its great that you are trying to mod for ArmA but the SAS sure is a tough starting point given the lack of accurate and (most of all) reliable info. I would suggest perhaps looking up the BLEED units thread in the OFP section of this forum as there were some useful snippets there but you will no doubt have to trawl through the opinion and crap. This will be the last time a moderator will interject in this discussion. Should any of you wish to continue flaming the thread you yourselves will be PR'd and give happy meal boxes If you are going to contribute to this thread i suggest you do you research, simply posting pics and saying they are SAS etc is not going to help Sled88 in the slightest. Sled88 0 Posted June 12, 2007 My thoughts about a light combat uniform with DMP... EDIT: Here th reworked M16A1: And the Diemaco C8 Carbine SD:
nephilim 0 Posted June 12, 2007 mate leave the vest also dpm is maybe a bit too yellowish.
Sled88 0 Posted June 12, 2007 Well, I tried to change the normal map on the vst but thats not really easy... Because of changing the paths in hex... EDIT: Yes the textures are still alpha...
nephilim 0 Posted June 12, 2007 just use a different base model maybe?
cobra@pulse 0 Posted June 12, 2007 Aye as its been said earlier, dirty the stuff up a bit. Take for example the ArmA BIS US troops, if you look at the textures for the ACU theres a hell of alot of dirt on the uniforms, gives it that "Used" look in my opinion. Sled88 0 Posted June 12, 2007 Roger... I will add them in the final stage of texturing the units... promised! EDIT: I think this vests are better... I just changed the textures, the normal map shit remains... BTW: Does somebody knows about the usage of a XM109?
R0adki11 3949 Posted June 12, 2007 they are looking good now, im thinking the SAS may us either Accuracy International AS50 or Accuracy International AW-50 or the L96 instead of the xm109
Blackbuck 9 Posted June 12, 2007 AS50 AFAIK is an american issue weapon but i'm not a credible source. But the AW50F is used by brit EOD teams atm isnt it too? UKF guys help me out lol.

We bought some AW50Fs for EOD (at least that's the role that was publicised) a couple of years ago yes, but I believe they've been in use for some time in other roles. Royal Navy use them in customs operations too.
Sled88 0 Posted June 12, 2007 Good evening... I though I give you all a further development report: I added a few dirt to the uniforms (not the vest)... I also changed the vest again...
Col. Faulkner 0 Posted June 12, 2007 What makes you think that any British soldier would be seen dead in one of those stupid-looking berets!? Are they pretending to be the baddies out of "Rambo II"?
Sled88 0 Posted June 12, 2007 LOL! This is no combat uniform... the one with the beret... BTW: We decided not to include the XM109, because they'are using the M82 most likely...
stainer 0 Posted June 12, 2007 I think what he means is that the beret is poorly moulded to the persons head and is too upright and flat.

ck-claw 1 Posted June 13, 2007 Keep up the good work Sled! It's your time and effort put into this! At the end of the day,the SAS will (guesing?) wear any clothing/use any weapon that does not make them stand out from the crowd,in any particular place they are deployed/used!
