New, Tiny Duke Nukem Forever Screen

Recommended Posts

Quote[/b] ]Duke Nukem's lifespan is really beyond a joke, and there's little that can be said here that hasn't already been said. Truly, its life is the stuff of which fables are made, and we're not quite sure what we'd do if we didn't have the game to mock. Heaven forbid it actually gets released, the world might implode.

They have worked with so many engines for Duke Nukem Forever.

Who knows how many will come, until they really release the game. huh.gif

I remember when Duke3d was new. It was entertaining back then. But now I couldnt care less if this game wasnt released. Its been too long.

I wonder if the devs feel the same.

After DukeNukem3D the only no-brainer-fps-with-hordes-of-monsters that was worth playing was SeriousSam & SeriousSam: Second Encounter... I must say I didn't like SeriousSam2 much and I bet that SeriousSam3 will come out before DukeNukemForever!!! rofl.gif

Oh come on, Duke is on of the few characters that are awsome and something that is different in this whole wave of chars that care or something, or are trying to show some evil conspiracy or some other crap story. All the chars nowadays are way too clean. Duke is just Duke. Smokes a cigar and kicks ass. He's just what everybody wants to be when they play a game. Not some morally conscious dick that keeps appearing in games nowadays.

If there's a reason to play Duke Nukem, it's because of the Duke.

* Billy Idol's hair.

* David Bowie's ears.

* Sylvester Stallone's saggy steroid-laced man-b00bies.

* Voice starting to sound like Billy Drago, not classic John St. Jon.

* Duke has neither Col. Hannibal's classy cigar, nor Churchill's dreadnought.

* UnReal-istic sheen.

* Where's the guns?

* The silly darkness of Doom.

etc.

Epic post here ...

Then again, everyone's got a brick to give ... smile_o.gif

Broussard told that development on this version of DNF seems to have begun on 2004 (DNF first work was from 1997) and is using a heavily modified unreal 2 engine (strangely the trailer strongly remind me of the doom 3 engine).

The game length is said as being similar to other modern fps... does that just mean really short game ?

Sanctuary its UE3 not UE2/2.5 ...

tho there exist major 3rd party modification of UE2.5 engine it wasn't licensed by theirs authors (was used only for theirs own titles) as UE3 moved in faster ...

Agree, because after ww3 the mankind (who survived) will live in burrows/caves without any powerconnection.

As much as I loved the old DukeNukem 3D - whatever they'll release now under that name will have a hard time living up to the expectations. After such a long time Duke3D has become an icon that has little to do with reality (it was good at its time, but not the 'best ever game' even then). DNF can only fail - even if it isn't that bad in itself.

Little bump, but considering the new it is worthy bump :

http://forums.3drealms.com/vb/showthread.php?t=35533

Seems to have been confirmed as NOT a rumour anymore on many other places (even a 3DRealms employee apparently confirmed it) .

Goodbye 3DRealms, even if it will be hard to forgot the vaporware epic failure, at least i will remember them for Duke Nukem 3D that i played for years.

Sad news indeed.. back in the day iD software and 3D Realms were the top fps game-devs.. but after 10+ years of development it has to end somewhere. :(

:down: Well best of luck to the former employees and goodbye 3D Realms.

World of Warcraft ends yet another promising career.

10 years of self-congratulation doesn't pay the bills it seems.
