Daddl 10 Posted December 18, 2009 DM, those tank shots are really nice! @Hotshot: Thanks! The place lends itself to nice photos easily, so it was big fun. I did test the wife's patience sometimes, tho... ;)
dm 9 Posted December 19, 2009 (edited) Given the current global climate, Santa decided to trade the sleigh in for something with a little more... "protection" :D Bigger Bigger (Those of you familiar with CVR(T) will know why I said "protection" :j:) Edit to add: I hope your cam has a good burst mode and you didn't have to press the trigger in the right moment Yeah, tho I was too chicken to use the full 6.5fps burst mode. Maybe next year :D Also, I've re-edited the photos (the first edits were done on an eeePC, not exactly a suitable photo-editing computer) so they're a bit better now. Conditions weren't great (foggy, sun was directly behind the tank) so I had to push the ISO higher than I'd have liked to get the shutter speed. Still, was a great experience and a great learning experience, and now I know what to expect the next time I'm lucky enough to do such things. dm 9 Posted December 19, 2009 Grabbed some stills from the video, its been down-scaled from 1080p to 720p, and a different codec (damn and blast premiere for not being able to natively handle *.mts) so there has been a bit of a loss in quality. :/ Not exactly "photography", in the traditional sense, but still rather cool and somewhat on-topic for these forums. Also the last of these I'll be bothering you with, honest! Bigger Bigger Bigger Bigger Bigger
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted December 19, 2009 (Those of you familiar with CVR(T) will know why I said "protection" :j:) If he asks the boys at DSG Bovington nicely they might sort him out a Plasan kit for Christmas. Might be able to stop 7.62 then :D Given that St. Nick's fat enough that his arse will touch the engine firewall when driving, at least he'll be *ehem* warm. Nice CR2 pics though chap. Live fire demos are always a spectacle.

raedor 8 Posted February 6, 2010 (edited) Nice pics DM. If I can be assed I will shove some of my euro tour up here. Belvedere is beautiful no? I suppose you mean Schönbrunn, from what I saw there was no picture of the Belvedere ;) It looks similar, at first glance, though. Good shots, topas. No idea about the Sneakers ... I know in Münster there has been a 5km thread installed aroung the old town (http://www.skulptur-projekte.de/kuenstler/wallinger/), maybe this is similar? topas 1 Posted February 9, 2010 Thx Raedor, interesting link and a somewhat cool art-initiative; I love arts being present in habitated areas in such way; literally 'in the streets' instead of only being locked up in galleries and museums I will post more from Cracow for sure; but today some snapshots of Warsaw; my current home city... Definately not postcard-material; I hate to take pictures of sth photographed a billion of times already Powązki Cementary Narrow focus on Czech embassy at Miodowa St. Różycki Market Place located in the Praga district Somewhere near Foksal St., forgot the exact location A chapel and water-pump at the Young Town quarter
topas 1 Posted February 9, 2010 Part Deux: Stock Exchange at Książeca St. Ursynów- once a small village near Warsaw; now totally assimilated and currently being one of the most densely populated quarters. On the pic -> last remainings of it's past coexisting with current architecture Old lonesome lady in an old lonesome backalley of the Old Town Dwarf guarding the entrance to an old house somewhere near the Sejm & Senat complex Generations... topas 1 Posted February 9, 2010 (edited) Third and for now last part; totally past-oriented August 1st. Warsaw Uprising comemorated by the inhabitants of Praga district: Wola district 2009... but looks like 1939 The fashion boutique closed down decades ago still advertises in a narrow back alley somewhere near Aleje Jerozolimskie St. Polska Walcząca [Fighting Poland] - symbol of the largest WW2 Underground movement in Europe; here under the railway bridge in the Solec / Powiśle district nasty past preserved...
