2nd Beta 1.07.5157 feedback thread

Con:

-i had the same error as apo-ttc once (different texturesize though)

-and twice, after some playing (30min maybe), whenever i looked in the direction (not directly, just ground bearing) of the sun, my screen became COMPLETELY white whereas in about 300degrees its fine, its a sudden change, not continuously.it seems to be a HDR lighting bugand can only be overcome by restarting the game.info: i have a 7800GT.

Pro:

- flight model is very nice atm ..couldnt check it out in great detail though

- overall stability seems to be improved

- gameplay is more fluent now, FPS arent better but it feels smoother

- mp join seems to work better than in 1.06

- no texture problems (texture size "normal", 256mb vram)

As I already mentioned on german forums:

BIS should be ashamed of what they did to the Javelin. Even I, as a newbe to modding, was able to make the missile fly in top down and direct attack with the old, corrupted model.

Why fixing the model, if we can't use it? And "fixing" the model is not true, either. I wonder how many patches will be necessary to fix all those minor things known for ages....

Like i said before, now i'm not haing only the ctc because of the texture in normal.

With default settings the performace before the 5157 was much better. now the performace is worts than the patch 1.05.

Yesterday i was playing a MP mission with 10FPS, and with the 1.05 i used to play with 20 to 30 fps =/

Well, since its a beta, its ok, but before the 5157 the performace was better than the 1.05. I hope you guys can improve the performace.

Just upped all video settings to high - except post processing at low, and textures and object models to very high.  Works very well (7950GT) .  Just have one of those red and white gates popping up whenever I zoom facing ~340degrees.  Wierd.  Sounds still cut out here and there in large conflicts.  Might just be my SB Audigy2 ZS getting overwhelmed though.  Many little tweaks, can't really place my finger on it, but it does wonders for the gameplay.  Driving is as good as the first 1.07beta, which is to say I can drive any road except in a long turn, because of that blasted auto center I don't care for...

 I hope the water splash (as mentioned earlier) from rockets in the shallows is just a placeholder that will be improved upon.  Compaired to the rest of the environmental effects quality, they look completely like static 2d decals that are pasted onto the hit area, which they are.  Here's hoping they are on the list for tweaking.

Besides these little anklebiter issues, I'm loving it!  Keep up the good work BIS.  smile_o.gif

Can someone write me list or make a screenshot of original Addons directory? With the new patch the units have not rifles and they shoot from body crazy_o.gif .

Here I've discovered because I use addons...

...than I must remove all them and keep the Addons directory original.

But I don't know what is original BIS in my directory full of addons...

PLEASE

All the BIS addon *.pbo files have a corresponding *.bisign file. That way you can tell which are BIS ones.

Hi BIS, i still get a lot of LOD issues not nearly as many crazy_o.gif but the good thing is that FLUSH command is a life safer. But it would be nice if you culd sort it still.

I have a lot of crash in ARMORY when looking or testing not official addons.

Also the position of the list on right block the screen, its wrong, it should be on to low of the screen, right beside of information... To not block the vision of the model

Also they should add to armory more subdivision [Type of (Tank, Men)]

Great patch to a great patch.

Only problem i still have is allso joystick...

Some buttons cannot be mapped :-(

My next target (button2) also changes weapon...

cannot use buttons 6&7 for flaps...

A pity, takes away a lot of fun flying the A10/harrier/cobra

Anyway i'm pretty sure the nice BIS lads will fix it.

The graphics screwed up a few times when I watched South. Loads of white-grey vertices filling the screen.

The screen turns black sometimes (in combination with lag?), but chat etc works, and I can move around.

Inside buildings or close to their walls I always see lines in the air.

I also think you should support Mouse Button 5 (quite common nowadays).

Yes, they no longer autolock/autoaim. With the new zoom not zooming very much at all, this makes for some very interesting shooting pistols.gif

I'm not sure if this was added in the old or new 1.07, but the Sopwith Camel is way too vulnerable to Vickers MG fire. You can reduce a Camel to a heap of ash with just 10 hits, that's less than a second's worth of shooting.

the tow needs alot of work!! look at americas army.. the game.. you see that it locks on and can fire by shooting strait in the air and hitting it on top. or just by going straight at it. when i play arma and use the juvalin it feels like a toy.. in americas army it felt like a high tech machine blowing a tank to shreads..

It will be cool if it was the evne more realistic by first peircing the tanks then blowing up. but i guess that is a little to munch to ask for one weapon, huh.

anyway forget all the typos. i was typing fast.

2) If not, are there any for the US version?

with this latest 1.07 beta i get no problems on my bfg8800gtx with unmodified Arma.cfg, all high settings, VD2500 @1680X1050 although i do use postprocess on low and 4XAA and AF set outside 3Dapp, looks beautiful, runs very fast and smooth in XP64 SP2

my only problems are those crazy insect shadows, the lack of widescreen in editor and certain optics and the joystick interface, all known problems and hopefully corrected in next patch

Congrats BIS, definitively on the right track, i was reluctant at first with Arma (i blame OFP+WGL+hardware limitations), but it has improved enormously in quality and gameplay smile_o.gif

cef71, the 1.07 patches also apply to the DVD US version 1.06, but if you got the dowloaded version of Arma use them at your own risk as installing these beta patches will use up registration codes\keys.
