FDF sound pack v1.0

Recommended Posts

Hey nvoroudus,

I read commments by you on youtube, are you uptight or something? People give constructive criticism and you should take it with a grain of salt, you dont need to cuss everyone out dude. should probably get your blood pressure checked man. If you need some sounds for yours let me know, I can help out.

Will the FDF sound pack work when version 1.07 is released or will we need a new download?

Thanks,

Thanks,

good question..

some of the original sounds will also be changed by BIS.. read the change log.

so i would say: expect another version from this FDF_sounds mod smile_o.gif

I think i´ll wait for the 1.07 version before starting to make config tweaks.

I cannot get it to work with the 107b patch. Even if I try different order in the -mod statement it just will not work. Guess we will have to wait for the final patch version then sad_o.gif

EDIT: update, it seems it's just the SAW that does not load it's sound (limited testing) Looks like they renamed the model or something in the new patch

Yes you are right RogueRunner, FDF sound pack 1.0 version does not work very well with 1.07 patch, i´ll start working a patch to soundmod asap.

Glad to hear you will update the soundpack Goeth. Can't really enjoy playing ArmA without FDF sounds.

Hmm, this may be a stupid question help.gif

I use the 1.05 beta ( 8800 gts owner ) and launch ArmA with the startbetapatch ms-dos file, will this also start the soundpack when its installed?

TIA

@BadBone

Should work providing you use @FDF_Sounds in the ArmA short cut.

Also sounds good about a patch for 1.07. Love this sound mod adds so much toe the atmosphere of big fire fights.

How you do it mate. Ive installed now, if i use the launcher fdf comes with, it ofc doesnt load the beta

The beta target is

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\startbetapatch.bat"

do i just add -mod=FDF_Sounds       so that the target of the shortcut is then

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\startbetapatch.bat"-mod=FDF_Sounds

Edit, nvm, re-read thread and saw plaintif's post.

Sounds are awsome yay.gif

I think that´s just a matter of taste, try both of them and pick the one that suits you best.

For realism I would go with ModWar but if you want some more atmospheric sounds then I would go with the FDF sounds.

I would try both of them out first though - overall it is just a matter of taste.

i would say that the FDF pack is great for all gun sounds (accept maybe the minigun) but when it comes to vehicles they have got it all wrong, quiet noises, dumb sounding tanks and REALLY loud APC's, any chance of editing it to have the gun sounds (LOVE the PK noise, could shoot it all day  biggrin_o.gif ) but keep the vehicle sounds the same?

Is the mod war pack a seperate addon also? (does it make a seperate desktop item like FDF) and could somebody post me the link agen so i can check it out ty.

Here's a little update on my sound replacement so far, some sounds, Im trying to decide which ones I'm going to stick to or chose to use. There's a clip in there with the Harrier wav changed. I might as well change all the vehicle and aircraft sound also.

ArmA sound replacement progress.

I have problems hearing UAZ and BRDMs somehow. Maybe because they are too loow, or maybe the other sounds are too high.

I love the launcher and explosions, but hate the M16 sound.

And i hear four shots when firing a burst.

MP5 seems off (too rifle-like), but Mp5SD is near perfect.

Some sounds sound like recordings, that is not the correct approach since video cameras and microphones usually aren't good for recording the IRL because of them being too loud and screwing the aparature.
