Cormega 0 Posted April 25, 2007 The sounds in the IC MOD for Novalogic's Joint Operations are amazing, it'd be cool if FDF worked with those guys!

chammy 7 Posted April 25, 2007 The sounds in the IC MOD for Novalogic's Joint Operations are amazing, it'd be cool if FDF worked with those guys! Some are ok, I checked it out, but if you want right on teh money sounds , IC isnt the way to go, though, if its Hollywood or big exagerated sounds then yeah, IC has waht you want. Since ArmA is aiming at realistic, real sound effects would top the line for that aspect. I dont like TOO cleaned up and polished sounds , then they start sounding synthetic and over processed and like they were taken from a CD ot keyboard synthesizer. But thats my HO, everyone has their likes.
max power 21 Posted April 26, 2007 To be honest, I think that WGL with virus's soundpack was teh hax0r realistic soundpack. All in all, FDF's sounds were the highest quality in terms of production. Both of those mods were a real treat for the ears to say the least!
icebreakr 3157 Posted April 26, 2007 Is FDF maybe planning a new release of their soundpack? Our team uses it and we're very happy with it (helps the immersion a lot over the vanilla version). We only have problems with some vehicles being damn quiet...

We only have problems with some vehicles being damn quiet... yea i noticed that, and the tanks sound dumb as well. would be great if only guns and explosions were changed but kept origional vehicle sounds. Cormega 0 Posted April 26, 2007 I wish someone would do something with that "shifting" sound in most vehicals...it sounds like someone hitting the side of the Humvee with a peice of wood....it there an easy way of editing it out?
max power 21 Posted April 26, 2007 Yeah, I was under the impession those vehicles were automatics anyways.

Me thinks it's an Arma sound engine issue (right now its pretty messed up) Having gona thru all these sound problems, I uninstalled all the sound drivers and reinstalled Arma, made Enable EAX, ingame, and havent ever again messed with the sound settings, and quess what?? all the vehicles sound as they suppose to, and I dont get any of these sound probs anymore. chammy 7 Posted April 27, 2007 I've changed some of the vehicle engine sounds and aircraft myself in my sound pack im working on,...just cant get to it very often  cause of my kids, or else it'd be done a few weeks ago.  Thats a good point on the gear shiftting cause yes, alot of the vehicles are atuomatic.  BI, wonder what they were thinking as well, they used the sound effects nomally used for the AT4 explosion and used it for the 500 pound bomb as well, im sorry, 3 lbs of explosives as oppsed to a 500 pounder is a big difference in sound, freakin BI. Radnik 18 Posted May 4, 2007 Has anyone got FDF working with the ArmA beta patch? My shortcut is -"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\startbetapatch.bat" -mod=FDF_Sounds But I don't get the good sounds RMB on shortcut, which target is "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA\startbetapatch.bat", and click Edit not Properties!.
