  1. TBH even though i like Arma 2, i was kinda hopeing it was gonna be working a lot better than the state Arma was when it came out. Single player is worse!! Doesnt look like it was bug tested very well at all, just rushed out before OFP2 and left to the community to fix. Shame games can be released in this state, especially when it was just as bad with Arma, and from what ive heard, OFP to. Need a governing body over games to say " you cantt release that, its broken "
  2. Yea, but its fubard, can only use once so i found out :( ---------- Post added at 05:25 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:24 PM ---------- Your question has allready been answered above...for me

  7. Hey guys. Coop+deathmatch works fine for me, whenever i join a Hold server after the initial download of data and after " receiving " i just get a black screen ( not a crash, i can exit it ) and cant play. Any ideas why? TIA BB

    Balck screen with HD4870

Nah, still doesnt work for me in -window mode, if i add that to the shortcut i get the error Error creating Direct3D 9 Graphical engine Updated DX9 and it still does it, if i remove the -window i just get the fuc*ed up menus again. Ive tried reducing memory in msconfig, maxmem command, arma launcher in window mode and limited memory. I just dont get why it wont work, Very frustrating

I had nearly the same prob, black sceen then f***ed up menus that wouldnt play. Was fine on my old 8800gts, as soon as i got an ati hd4870 it was fubar'd. Tried most things mentioned in the vista thread months ago, no joy, so gave up. Im on vista 32 btw, and 4gig mem. Pain in the f****** ass even with the -window command in the shortcut ? hmmm was months ago, which command? Max mem one i tried. Have you got it working now?

  13. Cheers, ive been through that thread and noticed there are people with the exact problem as me but no direct solution to the problem, tried loads of thing suggested in that thread and have now decided ive spent to much time trying to fix it with no joy. Must be an ATI thing as i never had this problem with Nvidia. ......i'll maybe wait for ArmA 2
  14. Been away from ArmA for ages, just tried re-installing it twice and still no joy. The installation completes, i double click the desktop icon and when ArmA loads ive got more than half the screen missing and  very fubar'd menu's with no writting in them. I used to use the maxmem command so have tried that, no joy. Tried run as admin, compatability for xp and nothing works. The only thing different with my system now to when i used to play ArmA is a new graphics card, ATI HD 4870. Ive not got any patches, just the 505 UK dvd. Im not downloading any patches either as my connection is very very slow. Just wanted to see what ArmA looked like on this card. Heres a screeny    Any ideas? TIA vista 32
