1.05 Slight Delay - Read News

If this is the case isn't it abit unfair to the players that have high terrain detail on. I mean, they might think they are sitting in a bush and concealed. When really that bush for me is switched off and i can see them.

Settings are overriden in MP serverside, just like they were in OFP wink_o.gif

Not only that, but only the low-laying grass (clutter) is spawned/despawned. All bushes are part of the terrain and should not (afaik) be able to be "switched off" (sure you can crush em, but thats not quite what we're talking about smile_o.gif )

think at the bright side, this may mean that we really need to think of a tactically advance place instead simply go prone all the times?

- activate Autohover

- extend full flaps (2x crtl+K)

- gain some speed by holding Q for a short while and then release it.

- once in the air, retract gear (crtl+G)

- hold Q a little longer until you move fast enough

- retract flaps as you build more speed (2x ctrl+L)

- at aprox 180kmph toggle autohover off and control flight as regular aircraft

Landing procedure:

- reduce speed and altitude same way as during conventional landing

- extend full flaps (2x crtl+K), drop gear (crtl+G)

- hold Z to reduce speed

- at aprox 180 kmph activate Autohover

- pitch nose up to reduce speed, check speed, height and flight path vector indicated on HUD

- hold Z for descent at aprox 2m/s

- at touchdown toggle autohover off

RKSL Studios already have a better working system that they are just waiting for the right tools to enable them to port it into ArmA, If their system works as good as it looks then why don't BIS get in discussion with RKSL Studios to use their system in ArmA it would lessen the load on BIS to progress the above release from beta state.

Wheres the fix to the  jets  not fireing on ground targets?

Wheres the fix so the units engage at greater distances?

Trees hover high in the sky when player is on high ground.

Wheres the fix to stop armoured vehicles running over their own troops?

I hope they fixed all these these problems and forgot to mention it. These problems really spoil it the fighter bombers are pointless so far  they do nothing.

Hay, just a thought.

Patch is 1.05 right? How about OpF patches? 1.2; 1.4; 1.75 etc.

It's really nice to see that BI actually want to fix the parts of the game that is broken. However there are issues that really needs to be attended like the sound issue. Tanks wether they are 500 meters away or 20 meters away they sound the same. The same goes for helicopters and other vehicles.

haha yeah ofp had a bunch of patches 1.10 , 1.20 , 1.30 and 1.46 and of course the expansion pack resistancehad 1.85 and 1.95 and 1.96. biggrin_o.gif

Why? They wear t-shirts and shorts, not combatgear.

They could be wearing them (magazine-pockets, RPG-vests and so on...). I think that it is good, now they can carry heavier load of gear. No need to find work-around by scripting solututions, if i want to do mission where i have Stinger/M16 (with sufficent amount of ammo) armed civilians.

my sounds are fine-choppers/tanks/transport in the distance get louder the closer i get to them! wink_o.gif

if i see a bmp -and i run around the otherside of a house it is definately alot quieter!

using 1.04 version

i bought arma in v1.04 guise, this patch coming out only takes the number up to 1, personally i like the way ofp was patched, it just got better and better, little things that you didn't notice just so much got fixed and it was cool when they were. patches work to our advantage at the end of the day

Dude, please drop your destructive attitude and just admit BIS is taking care of the problem. Yes, it was on the shelves too early, the freekin' CEO even admitted to such. But even you have to admit on Friday - or when it really comes out - that there is progress, and they are STILL making advancements... Or would you prefer paying for your buggy patches a'la BF series?

This is just how BIS does business (very European of them), you don't have to like it, but for the sanity of those not bothered by their methods, please, oh please, stop trolling and lighten up. confused_o.gif

He listed some of the patches, not all of them. Now what the hell are you still doing on these forums? What kind of idiot spends time posting crap on the forum of a game that he doesn't even like? tbh i'm glad i got the game in november(my-sprocket Czech version-now have 505)

rather have it as is then! than waited ages for it to come out at a far later date! yay.gif

I just hope it will make my game crash less often. I don't know how many millions of dollars I'm accountable for with all the gamecrashes while flying a chopper.

Don't blame the game, blame your computer. but maybe i can help here. When you say your flying a Helicopter when the game crashes, to me that would point to your sound card or onboard sound.

Somtimes the game depends on sounds that could cause a crash, or somtimes on graphic issues, its for you to determine this and when it happens.

I say this because in ofp, a night time mission would cause me to crash to desktop (dark map=graphics card problem) or a certain sound from a launcher or gun would cause a crash (sound card= problem).

Best way to determine if you are crashing by sound is, disable the sound and try again.

Hi and thanks for the hint, but it doesn't happen only when I fly, it sometimes happens when I step out of or into a chopper. I'm not sure if it has happened in a "non-chopper related" situation on 1.04 though. smile_o.gif Sometimes I get the cannot create memory surface, most times - nothing.

Either way I had to turn off HW acceleration and EAX in the first german version to get proper sound at all. With those on, the sound was seriously mesed up. Another thing is that the frequency of crashes are much higher when playing on DS server than a hosted one. On a sidenote, I have a soundcard as well as a Logitech USB headset and I used both with same result.

And playing for maybe an hour with no sound seems like pain. I'll wait for 1.05. smile_o.gif

Seriously, if you don't like the game, then just leave and run back to your arcade-shooters. Every game is bound to have bugs, hell, look at how buggy BF2 was (and still is) when it was released.

At least with this game, we have a competent development team that actually listens to the community (take the new ironsight movement for an example).

Anybody with the new code *cough* Dyslexi *Cough*  know how the new grass occlusion effects the AI? yay.gif

I have yet to beat that damn ambush mission, since the satchel gives away my position (happy to see THAT fixed) and I consistantly lose all aspects of concealment when the trucks pass by, even though I'm in the brush.

@ Ofpforum: In all my deals, american businesses are considerably more 'rush rush' and impatient compaired to even the most anal of European (read: German or Swiss biggrin_o.gif) businesses.  So you may put your  icon_rolleyes.gif  back in your head.  tounge2.gif
