They wont change or add anything to the game, so you might as well stop asking for the real time editor.

Personally I would like a map of Sahrani, ArmA dog tags, perhaps a metal rifleman figurine (would look good next to my swordsman figurine from the Medieval II Total War SE) and a making of DVD.

Cheers.

505's management asked me to get some suggestions of what you guys would like from the "Western" Special Edition of ArmA, they'd like to make it different from the German/Czech special editions if possible so what would you like?

Suggest what kind of box/case you'd like and what sort of contents?

I would like a bug-free game in the box. One that does not need patched to 1.96 over 3 years ... I will be nearly 40 by that time and I might be dead by then tounge2.gif

I know zero defects is an impossible task for developers, but it is one that every developer should strive for. From what I have seen, ArmA is an unfinished product. Those 70% reviews should be ringing bells in BIS...

Anyway, in the box I would like a map of Sahrani, a XXL USMC or BLUFOR t-shirt, some vanilla dog tags and a stencil that you can use to chisel your name onto the tags.

yup certainly a High-map, i think one of those Triangular fold out cards that you got with Arma, illustrating the controls.

A Chart showing the equipment, sides, weapons, vehicles etc, showing strengths weaknesses etc.

and a jungle camp hat biggrin_o.gif

1. A Plastic covered map of the island(s) that can be folded, and of decent scale. Plastic covered so that you can draw (and erase) notes and directions on the map

2. A USB "compass" that shows how you are oriented in the game.

3. A small survival kit

Awesome. My idea is catching on. When do 505 stop paying attention? smile_o.gif

Just hope 505 gets some cool ideas off us.

No i don't think it is catching on its an insane idea. Why on this earth do you want a compass when there is one in the game that gives you direction.

I'd like the following contents.

1. ARMA DVD without copy protection problems

2. An interactive atlas where you can zoom etc. and create maps for mods or use them as planning. You should have the ability to set up a server (like the BF2 ATC), so players can join and you can draw on the map etc. Wuld be nice to be able to print out plans for more serious matches.

3. A metal 7.62 ammo box

4. Special ARMA dog tags (no printed letters, but engraved instead) - with room for your own tag.

5. The DVD box should be metal and contain the game DVD plus a sound track CD with music from ARMA and OFP.

6. A Builders / modders manual for the toolset

7. A hardcover manual with lots of info, also tecnical stuff about physics in the game, weapons, vehicles etc.

8. A registered version of fraps so everone can create videos and hype ARMA all over the interweb.

Retain all the other items in the current "special edition" by

all means but at the very least add a proper topographic

map of the island (the current "map" is really just a poster),

perhaps even with a cheap "Arma branded" military protractor.

Also nice would be the option to order it in a container that

one can put on a bookshelf - not in a cruddy old surplus

ammo can.

I agree.

I want a military tactical map... something as "ugly" as the ingame map, just huge and awsome quality.

That would make me happy. I don't want the map that the German SE gets as it's pretty featureless and not much good. It's more like a tourist map than a military map. How about putting the contents into a map case like this. I'm not a huge fan of oversized containers like the ammo box.
