DBO_ 0 Posted October 4, 2007 somehow that vid let me down after the opening minute, but thats not a critisicm as such because i think it was so close to the best arma vid i have ever seen . theres something not right about the ambience from the singer/talker and the text about it being easy sending people to war wasnt right somehow , i could see what you was trying to portray tho imo there was a missing / unfitting element to it. but thats my opinion i`m sure there are many others that will think its perfect In summary fantastic beginning and end with an attempt to add politics and war in the middle that should not and did not mix. 9/10 heres the last one i had from dbo_brick about planes. Fitting the tempo of your film to the soundtrack is what all good ArmA video makers do. The political comment in the music text and storyboard is the traditional concept of he who lives by the sword dies by the sword, and as relevant today as it always has been. War is a great game or film but but a sickening reality; the best films, books, songs, documentaries, paintings, poems, plays etc. all show this. Kifaru 0 Posted October 5, 2007 Cheers for the comments guys. It's great to get feedback thats longer then 1 sentence.....although any comments helps . I definitely know what you mean ofp2. Was hard deciding whether or not to keep that quote in the middle as it was also kinda hard to read. I had to alter it a bit to make it more legible amongst the scences. Original quote: "One of the main reasons that it is so easy to march men off to war," says Ernest Becker, is that "each of them feels sorry for the man next to him who will die." I was listening to the song and looking through quotes about war and thats how i got my image. My next movie will definitely be fast paced with a bit more action as my last 2 have been pretty dull. Oh and i hope you didn't mind me nicking your song ArmAVidz? I watched your desert weapons vid and thought it was brilliant. I really liked the song and it pretty much fueled this movie for me. Cheers mate. The song is "Any Other Name" by Thomas Newman. I got it off the American Beauty movie sound track so im pretty sure thats where you've heard it. Great song imo. I think it could work considering the glamerous nature of the effects you're workin with there @Ryan_D That vid is pretty cool. It's a great change of pace in arma and that humvee drifting around the corner is soooo sweet lol. As for my stuff, here is one I've been working on for the last week or so. This is the movie I was working on because of MaddMatt's new Effects ver4 which added even more immersion factor. Wasn't sure what to call it - so I called it <span style='color:darkred'>ArmA Effectual</span> used after reading the definition of effectual: <span style='color:olive'>Producing, or having adequate power or force to produce, an intended effect;</span> ArmA Effectual Thumbnails  YouTube Link 9 minutes 31 seconds <span style='color:olive'>ArmA Effectual depicts four USMC Platoons and one Special Forces Recond Squad touching down to re-capture the city of Obregan with artillery support, Army Transports and close air support from A-10s and an Army Apache.</span> There's all kinds of goodies in there. Or intends to...in a small way, supporting the mod makers. Giving back to the community... If I could do something for every mod - I would.
