FFUR 2006 2.0 Total conversion pack

I dont know if it's just something to do with the campaign or not, but I'm playing the Max Powers campaign at the moment and when I 'borrow' an RPG-7 off a Russian - it becomes invisible if I switch to 3rd person!

And I'm being sniped by guy's with shotguns 400mtrs away!!!

Ya I noticed the same issues... I thought it was pretty amazing when a regular east soldier was able to snipe me

from half way across an island and we were both behind large forests...    pistols.gif  goodnight.gif

Also everyone should try playing the mission in OFP Cold War Crisis, where you have to escape off of the island but you get captured in the end, its near the beginning... But anyways if anyone tries playing it in FFUR you will find its nearly impossible because the AI are always able to kill you from very very far away help.gif

Hi everyone,

Thank you for the kind words and for your usual support, I'm actually experiencing a huge lack of time due to several real life duties and I don't have the possibility to answer everyone, but no worries about the patch, it would be done within a couple of days and would hopefully enhance more'n more the realism aspect (Squad formations, Squad firearms, Woodland and ACU soldiers, Special forces...etc) as well as it would fix and improve the 'AI' issue. (and the rest of the reported bugs too.)

I found a M4 shooting video with different positions. The first is in behind the M4, it's like when you shoot, and the other is, when you will get shot, in front of the M4. The sounds are good, and maybe the FFUR Devs can use this to further enhance the M4 sound. biggrin_o.gif

Yeah, i saw the videos of the two guys shooting the rabbits also. I know "Steve-oh" only from a forum of the HL2 Mod called Insurgency. He posted these two videos I posted here now.

This happens with WGL, BAS as well as FFUR06v2 when I pull up the binocs. Can someone help me? It looks to dorky to deal with...(this particular screenshot is a FFUR06v2 SF individual).

Its due to the order in which the NVGs and Binoculars are added to the unit. I remember Ebud (I think it was anyway) explaining it quite a while ago. Basically, if the NVGs are added first, the proxy is used for both slots (so you get the above error), but if the Binocs are added first, and the NVGs after them, the Binocular proxy on the model loads fine, as does the NVG model (when worn). Basically, its simply a case of swapping the "Binoculars" and "NVGoggle" order around in the config (or removing them in the init line and re-adding them in the correct order).

Makes perfect sense Jackal, but I can't find the standalone .pbo in my FFUR folder. If the binocs and NVGs are in the same .pbo, how would have all this happened?

Its nothing to do with the models themselves, or with the unit model. Its all a matter of the game engine replacing shit it shouldn't. Its not an issue with FFUR either, Vanilla OFP does it too. Try it yourself, go into the editor, remove all the weapons from a soldier, then add the NVGs and Binocs (in that order), then try equipping your binoculars.

There isn't much that can be done, other than my quick work around (remove BOTH the NVGs and Binoculars, and re-add them - Binoculars first, then NVGs second).

Reason for FFUR 2006 Version 2 MP Fix Lagging in MP:

Blood spotting. The way OFP handles each object when placed on the ground OFP creates multiple units or containers as some call them at that location.

With FFUR each death usually results in 3 blood spots placed for an attempt at realistic wounding and battlefield immersion.

However, the blood spots are never removed. This is leading to an enormous amount of lag and bandwidth decreases.

This same issue is apparent in all other mods that fail to remove the blood spots during MP games.

[Edit: FFUR is placing 1 to up 5 a max of 5 blood spots per dead soldier upon the ground. This could be creating up to 10 OFP placeholder containers for each blood spot. Although normally it seems OFP creates 4 to 7 container place holders per ground placed item. Why OFP does this I do not know. I remember the difficuilty we had trying to remove ammo containers back some 4 years ago. This means that each blood spot may be creating as much as 4 to 7 units on the ground as far as OFP's memory model is concerned. So, 5 blood spots means 20 to 35 container placeholders. This really builds up lag.]

Well, I´ve had it.

I tried just about everything there is to change the FOV back to FFUR specs and so far, no luck.

Now, many of you might think that I´m just a little too obssessed with the subject, but for all of us four eyes out there it´s kind of uncomfortable to have to jam your face against the screen just to see thing well.

Anyhow, this is not my mod. They can make as they please.

Hope they change it back, though...

New Bug Found

All .50cal weapons for the West side have no sound /sigh

PLEASE Fix this. Also includes the West side tanks that have .50cal machine guns.

Huh? are you sure i have sounds for all teh .50 calibre weapons. Try reinstalling ffur something could have happened when you installed.

One bug(?)

I cant see in the last scene(dead of V.Troska) beacuz scripts are messed up,so I can see only a one civilian,thats all sad_o.gif

It allways happens only with FFUR
