Daddl 10 Posted August 13, 2006 (Didn't they have sheep and more in VBS1?) Yeh, but they were crap. At least that is what I've heard from VBS1ers, I don't own it myself. Their not crap, animations and a.i. behaviours are quite good in some cases . Heatseeker's right. They might not be important (unless you think about non-serious missions like 'hunt the were-rabbit' ) for the game, but a few sheep grazing near a runway, maybe guarded by a dog and shepperd add quite a bit to the atmosphere. The VBS animals are quite nice and as far as the old engine allows for it the animations are already quite well done, and with the improved animations ArmA is said to allow for I'm sure they could be improved even more. But then I doubt we'd get something for free VBS1 customers have to pay 50 US$ extra for (as much or more than Arma in total will cost).

GBee 0 Posted August 15, 2006 My first reaction to the screenshot was that it showed nothing new or special. To some degree that is true but I realised that it does satisfy one of my earlier requests. Back in a discussion we had when one of the first city screenshots was released I commented how unrealistic it seemed that so many simple things that are common to every town/city were missing. Well some of those things have since been added or shown in newer screenshots. Football pitches were one of them (or any sports areas in general). So either BIS are listening or they share the same attention to detail. The actual ability to play football isn't that new. Although the interaction was sometimes difficult OFP:E included a sphere object which you could knock around, roll down slopes etc. It probably would have worked in OFP too but I don't recall anyone trying. BIS may or may not have improved this so that it is possible to play something football-like.

NeMeSiS 11 Posted August 15, 2006 Well i really hope that we can push things around when walking into them now, in OFP you had to shoot the object to activate the physics..
Blanco 0 Posted August 15, 2006 I know Placebo loves Pro evolution soccer 5 , but isn't this going too far? j/k I don't think you can play football in Arma, just something clever, place some running units and a ball on a field and it looks like they are playing football. A little motion blur on the ball in photoshop and you're done.
Guest Ti0n3r Posted August 15, 2006 And I hope it'll be impossible to push other players around... They removed it in Elite so I hope they'll keep it out of ArmA too
VISTREL 0 Posted August 15, 2006 plz don't tell me you would be able to play soccer in Arma

Journeyman 0 Posted August 15, 2006 I hope the ball will make a nice hissing sound and crumple up like a prune when I put a finger of high velocity lead into it! Â

Guest Ti0n3r Posted August 15, 2006 What? Tell me about this. (I don't have elite...) You could unlock stuff in the editor. There's a big ball (Sphere) wich acts like a volleyball (well, kind of) if you fire at it with your rifle.
