stegman 3 Posted May 5, 2006 Hmm, if only we could figure out what time zone he is in...we might be able to figure out the island location..... EDIT: Never mind. I just read the blog again: Apparently it’s an island in the Atlantic Ocean..

deanosbeano 0 Posted May 5, 2006 lol bravo you wont give up until you know where it is . let me give you another idea, then you really go mad lol. The United States offered to let Saddam Hussein live in exile like Napoleon on St. Helena if he would use his influence to end the Iraqi insurgency, a lawyer for the deposed dictator said on Thursday. maybe in the game saddam was left to live there and took over the north and now the south must fight ,lol st. helena in south atlantic , was found by portuguese and then taken over by british ,lol ? what you think /jk

l etranger 5 Posted May 6, 2006 Yup Bravo 6 you are right, and your are adding a brick to my wall : The island is small. But not the world ! (well i hope so, if my second theory about the archipelago is true)
NeMeSiS 11 Posted May 6, 2006 Yup Bravo 6 you are right, and your are adding a brick to my wall :  The island is small. But not the world ! (well i hope so, if my second theory about the archipelago is true) The island is 20×20=400km, BIS have said this over and over again, stop wining about it ffs!
GBee 0 Posted May 6, 2006 Yup Bravo 6 you are right, and your are adding a brick to my wall : The island is small. The distance between the city and that soldier is at least 1.5km possibly 2km. That makes the island at least 20x20km, which coincidently is exactly what BIS have told us it is.
Journeyman 0 Posted May 6, 2006 I wouldn't bother! Let L etranger have his theory squashed when the game is released! Â

Though the island "look small in a way", but the distance is more realistic and thats what i want to stated with those pics. Because thats what matters. The distance from the big (1st) soldier to the city must be like 2km (maybe more), might take a while to get there by foot. 20km in real life is huge! Think in a realistic way, with a normal car, 20 km to cross might take you about 20/30 mins or more depending on the terrain. So thats not that small. edit: The small arquipelagos could be the blue zones.. (from blog) enlarge
Dwarden 1125 Posted May 6, 2006 now consider what can be done with custom maps (just look at OFPR custom map limits) ... yay 50x50 or 100x100 )))))
GBee 0 Posted May 6, 2006 Custom maps could be even bigger than that with the new streaming terrain. The only reason why the Arma island is just 400sq km is that BIS don't have forever to populate it with objects. Thus we get a 400sq km island in high detail, rather than an empty 1000sq km island. aus_twisted 0 Posted May 6, 2006 Islands in VBS2 and Game 2 will be over 100x100km's, that will put jets and a aircraft carrier to good use
kernriver 4 Posted May 6, 2006 And someone should make a nice little CTW (counquer the world) mission! You guys are crazy I love it!!! But seriously, with streaming terrain, wouldn't it be actually possible?
coderdfox 0 Posted May 6, 2006 Islands in VBS2 and Game 2 will be over 100x100km's, that will put jets and a aircraft carrier to good use IF there are jets (no ones been able to say jets yet). placebo said planes over and over but that's not jets. When ask about jets, they says "planes will be in the game" You wouldnt look at a f-16 and say "look at that plane". This could just be a word game too
