Guest Ti0n3r Posted May 20, 2006 ofp.info Thanks for the heads up! ;] Quote[/b] ]We were glad to hear that BIS plan to publish several tools and documentations prior to the release of the game. A new version from Oxygen Light with several new features will be released to the community. BIS also developed a new tool named Linda, which helps the designers generating vegetation in a natural way. We were told that no single tree in Armed Assault is modeled by hand anymore. Guest Ti0n3r Posted May 20, 2006 Meh, the world is not enough I can see that at least 3 feats that were meant to be exclusive for Game2 made it into ArmA. Very nice.
berghoff 11 Posted May 20, 2006 Daniel @ May 21 2006,00:20)]After reading Hardrock's post I feel like crying with joy. BIS has some nice ideas. Too bad about the rivers though. I hope they release the linda tool aswell. To see what new features this brings (like better intergration with engine than with other tools) . hardrock 1 Posted May 20, 2006 =) Yea, this should have made it at E3. Actually, what should they report to the game mags? What should the reporters ask? What we have here at the OFP (Mapfact) Workshop II is I guess the largest amount of experienced addon makers ever, including Rastavovich by BIS. The mods represented here are BAS, Combat, RHS, BW-Mod, AEF, WGL, Mapfact, CoC, DKM, pretty much anything, you know. The developers of many interesting an difficult system or addons are attending the workshop: Creators of CoC Artillery, BAS addons, DAC, WGL5 etc. are here to bother Rastavovich with questions. And you can imagine that we ask him the interesting ones. I just collected the info we got and put it together in an article.

Hekezu 0 Posted May 20, 2006 OFP Porn Oooooh yeees! But the only bad thing is that the release date is now "officially" pushed to Q3 by BIS. Ofcourse the publisher can delay the game even more. I don't mind the wait as long as BIS can deliver what it promised.
RUKH 0 Posted May 20, 2006 OPF 1.5 I think not! Game 2 is more like it. Thanks BIS, this just keeps getting better and better Now if i only knew when to place my vacation weeks
ag_smith 0 Posted May 20, 2006 Kudos to you hardrock and every one else that helped to gather the information. That's one best piece of text on Arma I've read for months. Thanks! Shame about the release date though. My guess is that eventually it'll be coming to us around Christmas (I hope not)...

Heatseeker 0 Posted May 20, 2006 That MP movie is sad, the usual bunch of vehicals and ammo crates at respawn style mission . Veery realistic... in a BF2 way . Lets hope someone starts a realistic mission design initiative...
RUKH 0 Posted May 20, 2006 Heatseeker, it´s a press demo....i dont think they want to put the critics on some 4h holdup up in the mountains, waiting for the sun to go down for them to make a safer assault. All the full realism stuff in OPF was created by the community, i dont see why BIS would meddle with this. It´s meant to be entertaining for players, simfolk will shape it for themselves. BIS has had all this time to see what was wrong/hard to do in OPF since it´s release, i´m sure that 90% of all complaints will be or have been fixed and the rest are preferences that you will have to fix yourselves. Hence the improved engine. For OPF to thrive, even newcomers must be able to have a good time. For the rest of us, the mods will satisfy all our lust for no compromise realism

ebns72 0 Posted May 20, 2006 awesome, but im still worrying about that non moving crosshair a bit You can change it. In some other trailers it shows it free floating. Quote[/b] ]The AI wasn’t that impressing in the demo, but Rastavovich assured us that this will change for the final product. I had begun to lose faith in BIS. Good to see they listen to the community...and one of the few game developers that do
