VISTREL 0 Posted September 22, 2006 One thing I would like for BIS to include is realistic throttle control for Arma aircrafts. I plan on getting X-52 joystick, and plan on using that joy to full extent.
GBee 0 Posted September 22, 2006 Actually view distance in the game doesn't simulate fog, but it is technical limitation of game, maximum distance where game draws objects. In OFP, if view distance is set for 1200m, for example, you cannot see longer at all, even if you are looking through hubble telescope. That's realistic, huh? Yes view distance is a technical limitation, but it is implemented/disguised in-game through mist/fog/haze. It's not realistic that a person standing on 10 storey building with a pair of binoculars 1.1km away can see you, but you can't even see the building. That is why your idea is flawed. Schkieward 0 Posted September 22, 2006 I think this thread should be locked because of the amount of posts, but my input to this thread is that i would love to see "sniping" missions and chopper missions in the sp campaign. More than one each.

Both situation have positive and negative sides. I hope there could be some compromise... Or must wait so long that we have fast enough computer, so we can set view distance for 10000 meters. bravo 6 0 Posted September 23, 2006 I think some small effects still misses in ARMA (at least in the latest preview videos), we all know that. I would like to mention/recall this particular small effect (animation(s)?) that i believe it could be positive, it could also bring and make it feel more realistic: When the Tanks or any other heavy Cal. Armor fires their weapons there are no dust deslocation in the ground from the blast shock wave. A small effect could be added depending where the vehicle were located too. Example: <ul>1ÅŸ A vehicle with heavy Cal. fires in desert ground (sand), would be nice to see a small realistic dust in the ground arround the vehicle simulating the blast of the Gun fire making the dust move near the vehicle. 2ÅŸ If the heavy Gun Cal. fires in the asphalt we wouldn't be able to see the dust much unless its near the sand. 3ÅŸ If we have the dust from choppers why can't we also have the deslocation dust from the blasts of heavy weapons/Cal. and tanks? Don't need to be exactly with those extreeme details or too excessively but you know what i mean. Plz, make it happen.
-CS-SOBR-1st-I-R- 0 Posted September 23, 2006 Do you mean the tank itself or where the tanks' round hits the ground ? If you mean the tank itself, ECP 1.085 provides such thing... if a tank fires, you see a circle of smoke around it. And FFUR provides effects when a tank round hits the ground. I think this stuff should be in ArmA right.

Stendac 0 Posted September 23, 2006 Did BI say that there would be actual magazine removal and replacement during the reloading animation? I don't remember if they said anything about this and I can't quite find where they talk about it. I only remember that Placebo hinted that movement would be possible during reloading. -CS-SOBR-1st-I-R- 0 Posted September 23, 2006 I have no idea .... sorry, I only know that this is possible in MAPFACT weaponsdeal and it is also possible to attach and dettach silencers. I really hope this will be in ArmA... but I think it is not, as I can recall froma clip ive seen (soldier reloaded M4, but magazine was still in the rifle)
SnowSky 12 Posted September 23, 2006 Hi. Because of I love the G36, and i saw it in OFP (not as E version), i thought it would be really cool if it would be possible to use the Reflex(reddot)view for example if we press "V", and if we press the + Button (zoom+ button), we would change to the 3,5x Scope. I think this would be really cool, because it is even too in Reality usefull, and so too ingame. Another question I have are the AN/PEQ2 and Flashlights, do they have a function? or are they just for Weapon-decoration? Sry for my bad english. I thought I wrote those questions already, but didn't finde them by the Search Function, so if there is already a Thread with the information, and u don't wanna answer, pls leave a link or so. Yours sincerly SnowSky
badlymad 0 Posted September 24, 2006 I'm hoping that there will be unique models for different specialities (pilot, tanker etc.) because so far i haven't seen any pictures of distinctive models besides the standard infantryman for the US or N. Sahrani.
chipper 0 Posted September 24, 2006 Of course there will be unique model's for that stuff. Remember it's WIP.
CameronMcDonald 146 Posted September 24, 2006 Certainly, but I hope that there will be different models (or at least different web loadouts) for infantry (eg, rifleman versus grenadier, automatic rifleman, squad leader, team leader, RTO, etc). I seem to remember seeing some M203 grenade pouches on a grenadier in one of the GC videos, pouches that weren't present on a normal stock infantryman, so maybe my hopes aren't as forlorn as I think. Guest Ti0n3r Posted September 24, 2006 They should stay on as long as you don't turn them off manually. Anything else would be a mockery against ArmA players
llauma 0 Posted September 24, 2006 Talking about vehicles reminded me that they really need to fix the multiplayer horn bug.
shaun1990 0 Posted September 24, 2006 In ArmA, I hope that there will be... Support, as in proper runs better on support for Dual Core CPU's. I just bought myself an E6600, I want it to have an advantage over non dual core CPU's!

EiZei 0 Posted September 24, 2006 Remember it's WIP. Actually, if it's supposed to be published somewhere near the end of the next month it is not WIP (at best some bughunting) or it's going to be.. delayed.

Actually, if it's supposed to be published somewhere near the end of the next month it is not WIP (at best some bughunting) or it's going to be.. delayed. No everything we have seen is from WIP versions of the game. Even the latest videos were created from a press demo that was put together several weeks ago. frederf 0 Posted September 24, 2006 I hope our vehicle's eninge won't turn off when we disembark. or the lights That would be awesome. It leaves a lot of room for modders for "vehicles" that have states that can exist with the player disembarked. And all games are a WIP up until release date, but the closer you get to release the more the working version is like the release version. I don't expect major changes from the WIP we've seen lately to release.
