NeMeSiS 11 Posted September 29, 2005 Spent another 20 AP finding 1 pistol clip and ... another flak jacketWith my other character spent 26 AP finding ... nothing in hospital (yesterday +/-20 AP spent finding a newspaper ..) This total lack of luck has got into a ridiculous level. Get the shopping and that other skill, i found pretty much in a mall yesterday  EDIT: lucky me.. zeke rox said "A zombie just got in! Kill it!" (09-29 01:37 GMT) A zombie attacked you for 4 damage. (09-29 01:42 GMT) The zombie's bite was infected! (You'll now take 1HP damage for every action you take, except speaking. Infection can be cured with a First Aid Kit.) (09-29 01:42 GMT) A zombie attacked you for 3 damage. (09-29 02:03 GMT) A flare was fired 6 blocks to the east and 9 blocks to the north. (09-29 07:06 GMT) bing's brother healed you for 10 HP. Harnu 0 Posted September 29, 2005 Harr is currently en-route to Barrville. There's apparently been spottings of large groups of zombies around Floyde Stadium. I need to lay out some of these extra pistol rounds I've got so I can reload them all full, so I'll be working my way to the stadium to see if it's secure. Moved from Hildebrand Mall to Nicholas Mall. Nicholas isn't quite as secured. My next step is going to be free-run a route of buildings that's going to take me to Floyd stadium, waiting now for enough AP to ensure I can fall back far enough if a zombie horde has broken into the stadium. Harnu 0 Posted September 29, 2005 Barrville It's official, Barrville is crawling with small hordes. I'm at Floyde Stadium, it's hardly secured, just a few people in the corner I'm in here, although the route from Nicholas Mall to here was extremely secured and barricaded (I free ran from heavy barricade to heavy barricade). So the West and South West have multuple groups of over 15 zombies, and a handful of groups with 8-12 zombies, then strays all over the place. I suggest if you need XP, and you've got ammo, bring yourself down on to Floyde Stadium. Edit: I took a walk around the stadium, this isn't like other multi-cell buildings wehre you can barricade it all up at the same time and that they are connected, I'm in a strong barricade, but to the NW the doors are secured, to the W the doors are open, etc etc. I just dropped one zombie that made it in, I might need to fall back to safely regain AP. Harnu 0 Posted September 29, 2005 I'm out of AP in this place, this ain't good, I went into a PD, but a zombie made it in, there may be more outside, so I moved to a club thats very heavily barricaded, hopefully this will last a little longer.
sanctuary 19 Posted September 30, 2005 Just noticed in the urban Dead wiki the description of the new zombie skill added : Quote[/b] ]# Lurching Gait: Zombie can walk as fast as the living. * Ankle Grab: Zombie only spends 1AP standing up. Before it took 10AP for a zombie to rise , so when you killed a zombie, you were relatively able to escape far away. but , you will now meet lots of zombies that will not only be able to run as fast as you (the lurching gait skill) , but they would be able to rise without taking out 10 of their AP (and when a zombie rise, they are at full HP again). Well, while the change is good for lonely zombies that are usually "preys" to make their game more enjoyable, fighting those "zombies hordes" (that are already all high level zombies, see their available skills ) will be even more harder now than it was already I just hope my big bad luck of those 2 last days will disappear (but at least, i found 2 shotgun shell just now) , i need ammo, lots of them, with those recent zombies skills added . Harnu 0 Posted September 30, 2005 I dropped into a PD that got ovverrun, I just started laying shotgun rounds down range and got two zombies. Enough XP for barricade, I'm going to start securing Floyde, or head back to the mall soon and stock up on ammo.
WhoCares 0 Posted September 30, 2005 I already thought that Zombie groups might infiltrate barricaded buildings alive and then some of them kill the others of them inside and those stand up immediatly - the new skill would even help such a strategy... Edit: My N-Tec doesn't consider it funny to find the complete Ackland Mall heavily fortified now that he just got Bargain Hunting... My currently as civilian disguised Zombie just got the Diagnosis skill - now I wonder whether to kill him again or to search for medkits and get me the bodybuilding skill right away The scout finally got Diagnosis as well, considering how many medkits he found before he might start to level up pretty quick now
EiZei 0 Posted September 30, 2005 Oh great, the game went down and I was in the middle of doing a hit-and-run with a fireaxe on a gang of 7 zombies.
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted September 30, 2005 I reached Level 4 today with my Scientist and my XPs are increasing really fast now I have all the skills for my class, maybe I'll be able to buy the skills necessary to actually land a hit on a zombie with a weapon soon and go hunting. My zombie over in Barrville's in good company but still low level. Some guy landed a headhot on my when I was logged out but luckilly I didn't lose any XP, being level 1 and there being an overnight change to how headshots are effected by the level of a zombie. NeMeSiS 11 Posted September 30, 2005 Well, i just got eaten tonight in a mall in South Blythville If anyone wants to revive me (i would apreciate it ), i am @ the Anderson Monument [30, 73]
EiZei 0 Posted September 30, 2005 .. and one of my chars got bitten to death in front of a PD after a server crash.
Daddl 10 Posted September 30, 2005 I was just waiting for one last AP to restore before retreating to safety when the server suddenly wasn't available due to maintenance - when I finally got back in my char was dead... ARF! When I have enough ap to retreat to the next NT building I'll stand up again.
NeMeSiS 11 Posted September 30, 2005 I keep getting killed, and look at this! Quote[/b] ]You are Ragnar and you are dead. You have 0 Hit Points and 0 Experience Points. You have -2 Action Points remaining. -2.., heh, thats not alot
da12thMonkey 1943 Posted September 30, 2005 I'll see if I can come find you for a revive and heal when I have more AP. I'm at [23,69] at the moment
Chris Death 0 Posted September 30, 2005 hmm - i just killed a Zomb' but that was weird: you hit the Zombie for 5 dammage points (damn OFP - can't get the wrong damage with dbl-m outta head anymore) and it has 44hp. Though before it has had 45hp's. This happened about 3 times and then it started like usually - for 5hp reduced 5 real hp's from the Z'. However - i'm still in South Blythville - upgraded to Level 6 and hanging around in Isgar Towers (1 block north and between Lovelock Plaza PD and Gotch Plaza PD. Got following skills right now: Basic Firearms Both advanced Pistol skills = 65% hit rate Hand to hand melee Fire Axe efficiency upd. Free Running Yesterday i killed a Zombie starting at 45hp's with only one miss'ed bullet from my Pistol - everything else hit the 'Wanderer'. One thing to mention: since i started upgrading my Pistol skills it's now that i can get one new skill almost every day by eliminating a Z - maybe even two. But upon the dead bodies and Zombies i've met on my way today around the two PD's i think there's a chance that it could be getting hot here in South Blythville soon. And btw - the new Zombie Skill: Ancle Wrap makes me little bit nervous, as it sounds now like the only Zomb's you can challenge without getting harm are those who are not logged on; 'you hit them for blabla and they die' Zombie stand up again and start nag on your toes - probably infects you and that's it. ~S~ CD
Harnu 0 Posted September 30, 2005 Barrville is hot, the hordes are moving all around the stadium, I barricaded most of the stadium, going to make it heavy soon as I rock some zombies. But to a PD to the south of the stadium is a horde of 20!

But to a PD to the south of the stadium is a horde of 20! PD's are usually not a good place to log off in, Zombies seem to go for them before any other building. Hospitals may be a close second, I was staying in one with one of my characters, went out, ran low on AP's and stayed in a barricated library near by instead, next morning I wake up and find the hospital was overrun How lucky is that? Pathy 0 Posted September 30, 2005 Having alot of heavily barricaded "smaller" buildings does help us alot, Zombies arent going to waste thier time breaking down all the barricades on 10 or 15 libraries, banks, schools, ect to find humans who might or might not be in there, when they have a guarentee there will be someone in a PD. Speaking of which, i am moving out of Lovelock Plaza PD ASAP.
Akira 0 Posted September 30, 2005 Bubba McJones is holed up in The Armory of Fort Creedy. Gatherin' plenty of ammo and weapons and APs before venturing out. Frumpy McDumpkins is having a devil of a time. Trying to get to The Armory also, but have made precious little headway and have been killed twice. I think I've only made it about one suburb away from S. Blythville so far within two days of moving.
sanctuary 19 Posted September 30, 2005 Sanc Tuary is always in South Blythville , inside of the heavy barricaded library (one guy is inside), just north to the Lovelock Plaza Police Dept [25, 76] (bad memories about spending a night inside a police dpt in Peppardville so i decided to "Free Run" to the next building ) Now, after a successfull ammo search session, Sanc Tuary is now with 25 pistol bullets "loaded" and 12 shotgun shells "loaded", will collect more AP and will try to hunt some zombies tomorrow. My other character, Sanctu in Shackleville just got another level from healing people (Diagnosis is an AP saver and a must get when you plan on getting XP from healing other livings). It seems healing is a very good way to get XP (it is not as quick as killing zombies though) when you have a non-combat character that can't hit anything with the low % of hit at the beginning. But from what i read, the skill allowing to heal 5 more hitpoint is interesting only for very dangerous situation, it is mostly a -disadvantage- if you plan to get XP from healing other , because it does not give you 5 more XP. So in the end, you heal people more quickly (10hp by 10 hp with 1st aid kit), but doing so you will not get as much XP as you could (as without the skill you get 5XP by 5Hp healed, but with the skill it will be 5XP by 10 hp healed). So if you plan to level up by healing other with 1st aid kit, avoid the +5HP healed bonus skill , at least as long you want to get XP by healing. A chance i have not taken this skill. Major Fubar 0 Posted October 1, 2005 Just curious - I've been tlaking to someone about the pistols in UD (6 round capacity) who says they cannoy be semi-autos as there are no auto pistols with a 6 round magazine. Is that true? I can't think of any off the top of my head, but surely there are autos out there with a 6 round mag?
