Gameer 0 Posted April 24, 2005 Having just read that BIS will be at E3 (woot) this May, will some of the OFP newssites be going to bring back info for the OFP fans around the globe? Will BIS be updating their websites to include the new details they've divulged at the show? Bring on May 18th!
berghoff 11 Posted April 24, 2005 A new GENERATION doesnt necessarily mean a BRAND NEW GROUND UP engine.Im the next GENERATION of my family, im still carrying over components from my predecessors, and I have no doubt OFP2 will in its engine also. Id bet my new PC thats its a rework of the current tech (maybe a major one at that). I'm sorry but I meant something different. My english isn't that good so I can't come up with certain words. So nevermind.

Mora2 0 Posted April 25, 2005 why is placebo going to E3??
WargamingNor 0 Posted April 25, 2005 Why not? He is, after all, a BIS employee (BIS Community Manager). He moved to the Czech Republic and works fulltime for BIS.
SpecOp9 0 Posted April 25, 2005 I would'nt be suprised if Placebo is the man who set up the appearance of BIS at E3, he is afterall the only guy who knows how insane we are going for OFP2... I think it's important to point out, that on the e3expo website http://www.e3expo.com/exhibitors/exhibitor_list.asp Bohemia Interactive in the list does not have the Icon. Â Which means, we might not see any screenshots/videos of OFP2, yet. Â Keyword: Might. We might just get more info on the features, story, release date, maybey some more info on the XBox release, but other than that I can't find any evidence we will get any eye candy. Â You could ask Placebo about it WargamingNor , maybey get a mini interview about more specific plans BIS has at the appearance of the expo.
HKFlash 9 Posted April 25, 2005 I dont think that Bohemia Interactive is planning to show screenshots nor videos of Operation Flashpoint 2. We may get that kind of media with Operation Flashpoint X-Box. Yet im disappointed with the delay of OFP for X-Box. Not because I want to play it, but because the new generation consoles are at the door. I find it weird to launch a game for x-box at the end of this year, with X-Box 360 being presented this summer. Sincerely, I dont believe the game will sell much, thanks to codemasters for its excellent marketing campaign, it wouldnt surprise me. I just hope BIS did this step back on OFP-E due to software reasons and not marketing. Now back to OFP2. A trailer at most, showing some kind of presentation of OFP2. That would be the most we could get. But hows that, when only 2 BIS team members go to E3. I think its obvious for us not get our expectations too high. Either way, regarding OFP2 or OFP-E, or any other product, I believe BIS knows what they are doing. Im a fan of OFP and will remain loyal to BIS up to the last second. Godspeed. shinRaiden 0 Posted April 25, 2005 Obviously I'm not an exhibitor and I haven't seen all the nitty-gritty details, but... Quote[/b] ]E3 Web Site : Every E3 exhibitor gets a FREE reciprocal link on the E3 site. Traffic on the E3expo.com site is climbing and now averages 6.6 million hits per month. That means a link from the E3 site can bring a lot of traffic to your home page. You can also create a hyperlink to highlight the products you’ll display at E3 2005. First Looks Program : This FREE program features companies with new products, and highlights them via advance PR, onsite signage, the Show Daily and the Show Guide. Umm... linkage? Now for the conspiricy theories... Quote[/b] ]I should also add that due to E3 preparations, this week's Flashnews will be tomorrow not today, hopefully normal service will resume until the actual E3 week Just curious, how long does it really take to make Flashnews? It's not an 8-hour project each week is it? So what's the absolutely pressing business that takes up the entire day and is E3 related? I'll let the rest of you nitpick that one, I have a couple other conspiricies calling me atm.
funnyguy1 0 Posted April 25, 2005 hugh guys above I also think that we won`t SEE much, but as it have been said, ANY info would be good. Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted April 26, 2005 why is placebo going to E3?? what kind of question is this? he knows the community. He knows the wish-list of features. he knows the most common complaints. He will be the one being able to give us good feedback on THIS board afterwards. And he has a very likeable personality! So why shouldnt he go?

USA 4 Ever 0 Posted April 26, 2005 Gamespot posted this on their site yesterday. Not sure if you guys have already seen this. http://www.gamespot.com/news/2005/04/25/news_6122902.html Quote[/b] ]Operation Flashpoint 2 E3 boundCodemasters may not be showing off at E3, but developer Bohemia Interactive says it will demo Operation Flashpoint 2 anyway. According to a post in the Bohemia Interactive Studios forums, Operation Flashpoint 2, the tactical first-person shooter from the Prague-based developer, will be making an appearance at this year's E3 Expo in Los Angeles. Bohemia's PR manager, Paul Statham, said in the forums that "Marek Spanel and myself will be in attendance at [E3], where we intend to announce our release plans for 2005 and beyond. We will also reveal further details about the games we're currently working on." Operation Flashpoint 2 will be published by Codemasters, the British company behind Second Sight. Codemasters has announced that it will not be taking a booth at E3 in May. Thus, Bohemia will be showing off Operation Flashpoint 2, set for release in 2006, on its own. Bohemia Interactive Studios is based in Prague, Czech Republic, and is the developer of the original Operation Flashpoint for the PC and its numerous expansion packs. That game was set in 1985 and portrayed a fictitious skirmish between American and Soviet troops. The company says that this new Flashpoint game will also focus on modern combat.
