i was just discussing something with friend related to AI in OFPR and he asked me how tell AI if they are low at ammo to automatically search dead bodies for ammo (by need and depending on cover / battle status) ....

same goes e.g. for logic when our AT soldier is killed and enemy armor is aproaching, then AI should ran for the weapon at corpse if possible (e.g. it's not pure self kill) same goes for corpse dead enemy AT soldier ....

i think i saw it somewhere used but it was limited and i can't remembe rwhere...

any idea ? could be that implemented? smile_o.gif

You know what i'd really like to see? i'd really like to see the commander's turret on the M2 being able to turn right or left...

On a multiplayer session, east usually gets a big advantage on a BMP vs M2A2 fight, because the commander of the BMP can rotate its turret right and left to seek and lock on targets, while the M2 cant... moreover, the BMP usually got 150(?) rounds of HE bullets and another 150 rounds of AP bullets, while the M2 only have the 150 HE rounds without the AP, so the BMP gets a very meaningfull advantage over west forces... I'd like to see this thing fixed, if its even possible or in the subject of ECP at all smile_o.gif

If you're really sweet to Kurayami he may give us an updated version that works with the new ECP. One of us would probably be happy to make a new vid when that happens.

We already have a lot of features, adding more features now will take a lot of time. Thus it will not be in 1.075, but they are solid ideas for a later version.

This will requirer us to alter models, which we currently do not do. This may be a good idea for things like E.ECP.

We'll have to look into this, we may alter these kind of values if it enhances realism. It is most likely we won't change this however, it just doesn't quite feel in our league. (Thinks E.ECP again.)

Will this new version include a utility for setting preferences and settings kind of like DXdlls configurator? Or will it still be notepad files? Either way is fine keep up the good work.

It's still a notepad.... perhaps in future version a utility will be used. At this point, we are simply focuses on getting this thing out the door.

It's already in the works. I have about 98% of the raw config ported over to 1.075 (albeit in a largely untested and undoubtably buggy state at the moment.) I'm basically just waiting for the static final 1.075 before I finish hammering everything out and getting it all tested and polished.

Some guy I know (ex clanmate) doesn't like OFP anymore, And he doesn't care about community effort (I proved to him he was wrong with a simple comparison: FDF russian versus BIS russian and HYK american vs BIS american. But then he says he doesn't uses it because it's not made by guys that get paid for it but some fourteen year old kids (I proved him wrong: allot of mod members are well in the 30's and have been in the army) I showed him this video, and he said he was not impressed because it featured BIS units (FFS!!!) , so with that movie i hope to (finally biggrin_o.gif ) shut him up... *evil laugh*

Oh, and it's cool tounge_o.gif .

I'd recommend copying the old trailer to 1.44mb floppies, putting them in a plastic carrier back and beating him around the head with it rather than trying to convince him to come back to the community biggrin_o.gif

calculation:

Winace storing (not compression) would spread it over... oops

Winace 2.5 doesn't supports over 1000 parts, It has done 999 parts now, and is currently at 92 %, to make it easy:

999+0.08X999 , the answer is 1079 floppy's

1079 8"floppy's now let's calculate the mass per floppy (in CMÅ‚) with the simple W x L x H formula.

8" is meassured diagonally, right? so with pythagoras's thingy you could do √8 , and you'd get 2.828427125 , acording to this site that is 7.18 CM

so it's 7.18 x 7.18 x the thickness of the floppy. let's just assume the thing is 0.2 CM thick, it would be 7.18x7.18x0.2 . This gives a mass of 10.31048 CMÅ‚ per floppy.

Multiply this by 1079, and you get 11125 CMÅ‚ total, devided by 1000 this comes down to 11.13MÅ‚

Since i dont need the 8 "floppy drive again this can be added to this, But i cant be arsed to look up the dimensions of that biggrin_o.gif .

Something I noticed Mozilla FireFox shows for the tabs thing, if you visit something often and it hasnt got an actual icon for the site, it for some reason turns into googles icon... rock.gif

no point releasing a Modification if theres obvious bugs or known bugs, as that would mean releasing a later beta..... and that would mean more time for you to wait for a fix.......

I didn't make the video, but my guess is that it was done with FRAPS using some form of negative time compression. That's generally what you do when you want to capture in-game footage smoothly. You can then double (or whatever) the framerate while encoding the video to get a smooth 30FPS.

I take it you mean that you just use setAccTime to slow the whole thing down by a certain factor, then edit the video to bring it back to full speed?

Yes i think it is possible, but you must modifiy the information related to the every handgun animations in the config (as the duration of each animations are defined in every animation class definition).

I never looked into that, but for some config experts (you should suggest it to the ECP team) i guess that is possible and is a very good idea for more realism.

learn to count before you start to criticise others... once you can, then you can start to learn to make a better ECP...

(By the way: December 24 - February 24 = 2 months)
