edc 0 Posted April 16, 2004 Yeah, I saw and advertisement about this before a movie. It looks/sounds pretty neat.
SpongeBob 0 Posted April 16, 2004 I hate "mother nature" films.
SpecOp9 0 Posted April 16, 2004 Just by looking at the film's color layer, this is gonna be one of those awsome and classic movies.
Akira 0 Posted April 16, 2004 If you want to get a feel for the movie before hand check out the book: "The Coming Global Superstorm" by Whitley Strieber (who is also writing the adaption of TDAT) and Art Bell. EDIT:Typo in author's name.
Badgerboy 0 Posted April 16, 2004 Bah, bring it on nature. We will wreck the planet before we hand it back! Detonating the earths nuclear stockpiles at the poles should do it....
Master_Chief 0 Posted April 16, 2004 Detonating the earths nuclear stockpiles at the poles should do it.... Yeah, but we should also send a few nukes to the core to try to shatter Earth's crust, just to see what it would look like. Once this is all over the survivers should convert the oceans into jello with some kind of super-gelatin death ray... lol that would piss the hippies off
kevbaz 0 Posted April 16, 2004 saw this advertised when i went to see shaun of the dead ;) looks good, i love a good disaster movie, its also on the mastar and commander dvd as a trailer too
The Frenchman 0 Posted April 17, 2004 When I read this thread's title, I thought it was a spam thread. After seeing the trailer it looks good. Not a fan of destruction films but it still looks good.
m21man 0 Posted April 17, 2004 I wonder if it has a plot? No, of course it can't. I guess I'll just have to live with thousands perishing to tornados .
Major Fubar 0 Posted April 17, 2004 Pfft...another disaster movie? I think I'll pass...
Gadger 0 Posted April 17, 2004 It looks good, but this genre has been covered at least a dozen times before, I'm more looking forward to Troy.
Doc. Zaius 0 Posted April 17, 2004 Looks okay. I'm a Jake Gyllenhaal fan (after Donnie Darko) so I may see it simply for that reason. (Though, for the record, I vastly prefer his sister.) As an aside, re: Roland Emmerich, I find it interesting that Independence Day and The Patriot are often criticised for being too jingoistic, yet were directed by a German. (Not that I'm saying either were very good, even if I did think the F/A-18/Grand Canyon chase scene was pretty cool.)
ale2999 0 Posted April 17, 2004 It looks like it is gonna be a great movie, been waiting for this one for awhile
Assault (CAN) 1 Posted April 17, 2004 Meh, I'll pass. I sense an ulterior motive in this film, and I don't like those.
Gollum1 0 Posted April 17, 2004 It looks good, but this genre has been covered at least a dozen times before, I'm more looking forward to Troy. Same here, Troy is sounding quite interesting. As for this - seen it a thousand times before.

Billabong81 0 Posted June 1, 2004 I just saw this movie. It is really unrealistic, and some parts do not make sense at all. But the movie was suprisingly fun to watch. I really liked it .
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted June 1, 2004 In one scene, some of the characters get chased down a hallway by... I kid you not... cold. I.E. everything is freezing behind them, and they're running away. And then they get to a door and close it behind them, and they're safe. So take that as you will.
Billabong81 0 Posted June 1, 2004 Yes, the cold is the worst weapon ever invented by nature! There is one scene where a helicopter crashes (3 actually) and one crew guy survives. There are tons of windows on these things and doors that are wide open. After the chopper crashes, the guy doesnt start to freeze until he sticks his head out the window. Makes no sense why he didn't freeze while he was still inside the chopper
Milkman 1 Posted June 1, 2004 When I entered the movie theatre it was 100 degrees with 70% huminity. When I exited the theatre it was 70 degrees, hailing/raining with huge bolts of lighting. Talk about global weather change! Oh yeah, and it was a pretty good movie too.
cozza 24 Posted June 1, 2004 Well after seeing the movie. Its very good. But they had the air condistior on and i was raining. But lets remenber the people who lived in the Nothern Hemisphere who died. Winters in New York froze, Raplie got sucked up and hellfish frooze. and placebo is frozen. and the others. ozanzac 0 Posted June 1, 2004 I'll pass on this one. Have to say that the advertisements on TV really put me off. People running from tidal waves and buildings snap freezing before your eyes looks crumby.
