supergruntsb78 67 Posted January 17, 2004 found 1 bug with the vltt p4 ---->> driver position is on the wrong side the steering wheel is on the left side but the driver is sitting on the right side (somebody was sleeping while doing this ??) but overall a very good pack
munger 25 Posted January 17, 2004 Very nice units and vehicles indeed! I've always loved the VBL as it just looks ace. The new muzzle flashes are nice too. I didn't realise the Gazelle was so small! It's great to fly though, and so is the Puma. I would also have liked to see a LeClerc MBT like Miles said, as it would have provided some heavy armour to round out the pack and provide punch during assaults. Hopefully you will release one sometime. Two small bugs: -The left rear wheel of the 'short' VBL is slightly off axis, making it sort of shake around when driving along. The other wheels are fine though. -The muzzle flash of the 7.62mm AA gun is 'cut off' at the ends which looks a little strange.
Acecombat 0 Posted January 17, 2004 Yeah good poin their Miles i was waiting for a Leclerc too its my fav tank , ever since i played with it in the game WW3. hellfish6 7 Posted January 17, 2004 Also someone mentioned special forces... I know that Remo made the French Foreign Legion (and Marines) for the OPFP troops, but Operation Frenchpoint never officially adopted them in any update.  I would highly recommend doing this.  He also made a music pack of French military music. It can be downloaded at: http://www.ofpd.org/france.htm  Hopefully this pack will become part of Operation Frenchpoint. Remo's a great guy by the way and does amazing work.  This pack isn't amazing (He just changes the berets) but the rest of his addons are.  Plus this addon/campaign pack gives players some "Special Operations" forces in the form of the French Foreign Legion and the French Marines.  I agree - I have that pack and it's great! It adds some nice flavor to the Frenchpoint troops, and it's cool to see the green berets of the FFL.
GoOB 0 Posted January 17, 2004 Thanks for that link Miles! I was really longing to see FFL troops and other French special forces, in my eyes there has always been a certain degree of "badassism" over French special forces, it's the raw efficiency and the overall rotten but still cool attitude of all French soldiers in movies I guess. Not to mention my fascination with the FFL of old. Also reading about what the R.E.P can do when insterted into the midst of an enemy force has to get you excited! Again, lovely work OFrP! Can't wait to see more of these units! Also, a general question to all involved. Is there anyone who has done a French re-skin of Flashpoint in the Falklands Argentine MirageIII? I remember seeing one not long ago... Possibly it was only for personal use I can't really remember. EDIT: Also, for another small item to add to the OFrP wishlist, a FFL soldier or a regular with sleeves rolled up wearing a beret. (similar to a soldier in rans sig) The helmets and those thick BDU's get a little hot in the Tonal jungle

miles teg 1 Posted January 17, 2004 I agree Goob. Â We definitely need a Mirage III. Â There was actually a Mirage made awhile back...I think it was a Mirage 2000 and it was pretty good (although missing a pilot model). However I liked the Falklands War mod's Mirage III better. Footmunch I believe did most of the work on that plane so perhaps we can convince him and the Falklands mod team to perhaps make either an unbinarized version (so other mod teams can use it) or an international version with Footmunch's roundel system on it. Â The Mirage III has been used all over the world which is why it's a very important plane to many mods including the Lost Brothers Mod, Gulf War mods, and for anyone doing African conflict mods where Mirage III's were used in many countries at one time or another. Â Â Also I hope that OPFrP make a dedicated sniper mod with some kind of camoflage on them. Â Their sniper rifles are amazing but they are fired by just a regular soldier. Â I know this is sometimes the case, but normally if it's not an urban combat enviornment, snipers have some sort of ghillie suit or vegetation on them serving as cammoflage. Â Here's a page with tons of AWESOME pictures of FFL Snipers including many where they are wearing special cammoflage. Oh wait... actually these are snipers from all over the world...but they have a few French snipers on there. Â Unfortunately the website's pictures do not allow you to download them. Â Â (Anyone know a way around that?) The site is at: http://home.swipnet.se/longrange/gallery.htm Ah here's one pic not protected: [ig]http://home.swipnet.se/longrange/GIGN_1%20(7).JPG[/img]>100kb Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>

miles teg 1 Posted January 17, 2004 Thanks for the info...anyhoo... Is anyone from the OFrP mod reading this thread??? I hope so because otherwise they are missing out on a lot of good feedback and positive comments. Chris G. aka-Miles Teg<GD>
Friedchiken 0 Posted January 17, 2004 Does the armor pack include that cool car from Taxi 2? I may be an "ignorant American" but when I saw the ninjas flip around and hit the GIGN guys I became a "fan." Well, until the crazy Taiwanese people in the bus got bored and changed the VCD French seems like such a cool special forces language

miles teg 1 Posted January 17, 2004 Ever hear of advertising? Â Most armed forces with volunteer armies do advertising of some sort. Â Staged pictures like that are very common in US military advertisement for example. Â Also the picture serves the purpose of demonstrating a range of French military snipers and their equipment. Â As for Friedchicken's comments I have no idea what he's talking about. Â There is no such thing as a "special forces language" other then hand signs used by some special operations forces (and some regular infantry units as well). Â The universal language of special operations however is the tactics of these units which are very similar around the world. Â Hence the reason special operations forces around the world often participate in exchange programs in order to share such knowledge and techniques which may vary from country to country or where some countries special forces units may have refined certain techniques. However with that said, it would be cool if the units yelled out in French when spotting the enemy, or when hit kinda like the BAS Tonal infantry. uiox 0 Posted January 17, 2004 File "Description.ext" for use the vigilant I have done a very simple mission not PBO. Just place it in your user folder mission. Use it in the editor. For your mission with a Vigilant you copy and paste the file description.ext in the folder of your new mission. In these mission you can try and test all addons produced by OFrP. I have done also two scripts for seeing randomly textures dammage and hiddens selections.  Mission test Quote[/b] ]85 forum :   103 user (English & Czech)OFrP forum :   37 user (French & English) OFPEC forum : 10 user  (English) 17/1/2004 round 18 h
horrido 0 Posted January 17, 2004 Hello guys, Yes, we are here reading your nice comments about our latest release. As usual, we don't speak a lot of our next devellopments before they are very close to be released, but be sure that we are already hard at work on ne next packs to come. Don't worry, all your comments are taken in consideration. Most of your suggestions made in this thread are already in devellopment by OFrP. As usual, we wont give any hint of a release date though, unless is is very close to the final stage. Infanterie pack 3 is being develloped at the moment, with all units of the french army included (the long awaited FFL and Marine troops are coming, as well as other french special forces) The weapons will be updated and a new pack released in the near furure (at an undisclosed date , of course ) with lots of new weapons. The Vehicles pack 2 is also on the workbench, with more french vehicles and a few secret things that we prefer to keep for ourselves for the moment Air pack 2 is also on its way, but the date of release is still unknown. For the fans of the Leclerc MBT, keep waiting a little longer, as the Armored pack is underway too (even if it's far from being near completion) For the moment, peoples using the pack with the FFL and other special forces not already included in the OFrP mod might experience an error message when using Remo's pack. We are tracking the problem at the moment, trying to solve it as quickly as we can, so that you can use the troops remo made until we release our own FFL/special Forces pack. It's only a small issue and should be solved quickly. Don't forget to have a try at uiox demo mission for the Vehicle pack, as he has put new things in it never seen in OFP before. For thoses who need more info on how to use the little UAV vigilant, go to the OFrP forums, as uiox has released a tutorial mission and is giving some information in english to help peoples to set the UAV properly. Thanks a lot for your support. Going back to work on the next packs; stay tuned for more info on the next releases on OFrP website: http://ofrp.free.fr -Horrido

reconmercs 0 Posted January 17, 2004 anyone got a link to Remo's french pack?
Acecombat 0 Posted January 17, 2004 recon looks back a few pages Good o hear the OFrP team has the armor pack done too , but one thing i wanna know is that what wouldi do with it surely brinbing the Leclerc against the tonalis is ovekill (they already have tasted M1a2's by me) , so what do you guys propose for a OFPOR for the OFrP addons? Atm tonal is quite nice for the light vehicles and infantry.
ran 0 Posted January 17, 2004 you know french army isn't only made of MBT's ace on the other hand i can't wait to see some AMX10RC's and ERC90's (especially the Sagaies to go with the VBL's to form reccon units) the Leclerc will be able fight against RHS tanks i'm sure
Acecombat 0 Posted January 17, 2004 Yeah i know but all thse sudden tank releases and nothing to do with them is getting a bit boring. Hmm i'll have to just mow down those russians again them , poor creature i feel for them Btw I never knew some of those vehicles were amphibious too now i can cross rivers and eliminate tonalis
