SGTKOPP,

since you are spamming and decided to let go of common sense, you are recieving 72 hours.

any comments regarding this should be directed to a mod through PM. no more discussion will be allowed since this is FDF 1.1 thread.

There is no chopper dust in FDF mod. But you're right, it wouldn't hurt... smile_o.gif

What, and the new explosions and fires and Nogova-quality islands don´t? wink_o.gif

right, the explosions are great-looking (with the smoke slowly drifting away after one), but it's a bit cpu consuming.

But worth it ! biggrin_o.gif

I don't know if anyone's noticed, but when a firearm is fired it can usually be heard for at LEAST two to three miles. In FDF 1.1, it dies out at about thirty feet.

It is not that CPU consuming, just look at other explosion mods they much more slowdowns. Smoke in smoke grenades now actually block the AI vision and actually are useful in adversarial games not to mention that they cause MUCH LESS slowdowns than old ugly BIS smokegrenades.

dies 30 feet? Well that's frankly bullshit gunfire in FDF is audible well beyond 500 meters. Now would you really want to hear realistic ear-shattering rumble from your speakers which covers everything else and just makes you want to turn down the volume? I think not.

Hi all.

I noticed something that really call my attention.

On the border maps, on the grids Df-07, on the road, just after living the nice little village in Haukisaari island, I come across some trees and bushes in the middle of the road going to the lighthouse.

Is that something forgoten by the Island maker? or they supose to be there?

BTW, excuse my ignorance, but, I supose that the west of the island belongs to Finland and the east to Russia?

I seted up some border patrols and all that, and I would like to know that I got it right smile_o.gif

And for the seek of reality, what units should I use to look after the Finish border? I'm currently using the Finish Reservist, but I got the impresion that the Reservist are something like a territorial army or something, so I may be using the wrong units?

Allso, a readme with a bit of the units history and perpous could be really helpfull for people like me

Thanks.

Could I be so bold as to make a request for the next version of FDF? If I can I would love to see a Jaeger with branches and twigs on his helmet to simulate a LRRP Jaeger. Also some winter versions of the MASI, RASI and Ural trucks would be most appriciated. By the way I am having a great time doing night time raids on small Russian military installations with the SISSI guys smile_o.gif

@Goob

Sissi isn't an abbreviation, so it's spelled with caps off.

Also, Masi and Rasi consist of two words, the Si being Sisu, the company which makes the trucks. So actually it would be MaSi and RaSi, but they're spelled Masi and Rasi, caps off. (Pasi, same thing)

Sorry to nitpick. biggrin_o.gif

@FDF:

I haven't found any new units that actually use the new weapons PPscH-41, RK-95 VV2000 and Barrett(?).

I almost forgot they were there! Maybe you should equip the Special Jaegers with the VV2000 and some Reservists should have PPscH? smile_o.gif

West side is Finland and east side is Russia. Reservists are not the ones guarding border at peace time it's The Frontier Guard (under control of the Ministry of the Interior - not FDF). I copy-posted one old post about roles of units to FDFMOD forums.

Gollum1: There are three snipers using Barrett, but like you said no unit classes for VV2000. PPSch-41 was included to be used by Soviets/Russians.

Maybe I am just stupid but where can I find PPSH41?

Is there a Mosin Nagant rifle in FDF 1.1? I read that it was included.

My turn to nitpick! biggrin_o.gif

It's PPSh-41  (or PPSch-41 if you're german). The last two letters is typed with a capital S followed by a lowercase h, as it's a translitteration of one cyrillic letter. PPSh is an abbreviation from Pistolet Pulemyot Shpagina (Shpagin's submachinegun - compare with Avtomat Kalashnikova) and the original cyrillic designation has three letters.

What, the FDF mod smoke nades blocks AI vision?! I've wanted that for so long!

Anyway GJ FDF:Mod, both 1.0 and 1.1... all sweet. icon14.gif
