Gollum1 0 Posted October 6, 2003 editAnd as far as the end of the Insurgency, it will be a long war before the end. Part 2 should be alot better. Just think, you dont really know much about who the scout is, or where he comes from ;) Heh, I thought that the scout wasn´t that important and would be abandoned for Insurgency 2 and be replaced by some Delta op, after all, he didn´t say a word except for sitreps and such. Will there be voice acting in the next campaign?

Acecombat 0 Posted October 6, 2003 Hehe no prob Evis just pointing out a fact. I dont care if you make them all christains or Muslims as long as they are there i can call them up by any name Man this is a perfect setting for TEARS OF THE SUN Now only thing missing is HH-60's *hint* And Jungle Deltas *hint TOW* But BAS's woodland deltas will suffice for now.... *Goes off to shut his mouth and play tonal some more*
Eviscerator 0 Posted October 6, 2003 Just FYI, American forces wear woodland camoflauge in the jungle, so the woodland delta are perfectly applicable for jungle missions. I do actually think the covert woodland rangers are better for it though, as they have the nice boonie hat. For example, Delta operators in Panama: And lots of images here of US SF in the Phillipines: http://media.militaryphotos.net/photos/Special_Forces-Philippines
hellfish6 7 Posted October 6, 2003 I bet Hellfish is enjoying his nearly-Rhodesian fix almost as much as I am! Â Fantastic piece of work, even on my 1 gig, 256Mb RAM Dell laptop! Â Thank goodness I've finished my Open University coursework... Hehe... yes I am.
Nagual 0 Posted October 6, 2003 Voice acting, depends really. We would love to get some new good african voices for various things, but it's pretty hard with limited time/resources. And idea as well for the insurgency is ongoing weekly missions. Eg, whether they come from bas or other mission makers, a weekly feature mission to keep the war going for players would be / will be nice.
m21man 0 Posted October 6, 2003 What's up with the Kimoe mosque? I can walk through parts of it, and there are three black rectangles on the ground right next to the mosque.

Thud_and_Blunder 0 Posted October 6, 2003 While we're (patiently!) waiting... Does anyone know what this "West Target - Heavy" thing in mission 2 is? If I can find this out, then I'll know not to inadvertantly destroy it next time I play, and might actually not lose (too many) points in the debrief... ozanzac 0 Posted October 6, 2003 P.S: OMG!!! Ballistic Addon Studios site imploded!!!! LOL: HTTP 403.9 - Access Forbidden: Too many users are connected. I beat them all to it on my 56k. You lot at BAS must think we're all vultures! But thats a good thing..............right?
benu 1 Posted October 6, 2003 I did some testing on the addon dependencies in the pack. They are related to either bas_deraw or bas_weap. I started some missions on the server and analyzed the addons used in them, making a list of each addon that was in ALL missions not working and subtracting every addon that was in a working mission. Those two addons are the only ones that were left. I will try to fix the addon dependencies myself, but i wanted to let you know what i found out for the next version This island is absolutely great. I hope some more people download it so i can play it more. This will speed up testing those mp missions too
Gollum1 0 Posted October 6, 2003 I think it´s an invisible CAS target. BTW I just had a GREAT mission idea for I2 - A police mission in Tatu. I got the idea from listening to the radio in front of the parking garage - what if you break up a teen gang at that location, then "suppress" a small riot at another location with your UAZ-mounted DShK (who said the Tatu government were saints? You might not use batons when you have a rebel uprising on your hands) and generally drive around and uphold martial law, perhaps even hunting a dangerous criminal by talking to people for clues? Ah, the possibilites are endless, and the town of Tatu creates the perfect atmosphere. You would be a Government soldier with a UAZ and 2 partners, no new models needed. Think about it. theavonlady 2 Posted October 6, 2003 Well done the BAS boy's!! such ignorance Ditto!
benu 1 Posted October 6, 2003 I solved the dependency problems by putting requiredAddons[]={"bas_deraw"}; into the config.cpp of bas_opcpp. Hope this helps.
WhoCares 0 Posted October 6, 2003 ...I got the idea from listening to the radio in front of the parking garage ... Hehe, did you shoot on this radio? Scared me almost to death when it crumbled and the crumbling building sound was played - I thought I just blew up the whole garage behind me with a single bullet
Mellis 0 Posted October 6, 2003 justed tested the pack.. the islands looks very nice. But, you have missed some things actully, like brdm w/mg no steering whell hehe.. and the missions isn't so very well made.. pretty hard to play them, (mpmissions are harder) there is no marking were to go etc. And some missions requeirs the other addons you have made.. The best thing to do till next release, make one large pack with all the addons you ever made, and make hard-testing before release.. Then prepare to email to diffrent news site to give them the files before so you will have many mirrors of it. Then release the full pack (ALL in One!) But very nice anyway.. GoOB 0 Posted October 6, 2003 IMO the campaign missions are very well made. Despite some rather nasty bugs in them. And some miscellaneous model errors were expected, after all it is a huge pack. And it is by no means a final version, as I see it it is "only" a demonstration of what to come. The could have waited another three months before releasing it with less bugs. But they were nice and let us have it now. And also the readme stated that some model bugs had slipped trough the net, nothing major IMO. And I only saw one SP mission (didn't install the MP ones) that required other BAS addons, and really what is to expect? EDIT: Yeah, when BAS is finished with their current projects I'd love to see a BAS "mod" or something close to it. But it would be a huge download
ExtracTioN 0 Posted October 6, 2003 Just played with the pack and wooooooooow it rocks Keep up the good work BAS

Scared me almost to death when it crumbled and the crumbling building sound was played - I thought I just blew up the whole garage behind me with a single bullet  Mmm, and I heard "Mohamad Farah Aidid" and "Somaliya" mentioned in that radio broadcast a couple of times. I just had a nice moment driving around the island in a government UAZ and 2 Laser-JAM GRU Spetznaz. Lots of things to explore, lots of cool things to discover, though I´m also discovering a lot of unfinished areas. Can´t wait for the full release!
ruff 102 Posted October 6, 2003 i believe in my opinion, nagual ur one of the best mission makers ive seen ur sf jungle op was the best and hardest mission ive played harder than the ofp 3rd last mission where u were meant to destroy scuds just a question do u make the enemy troops respawn? i liked the sf jungle mission but i had a gut feeling they were getting respawned if they werent, very good mission indeed if they were, pls dont make them respawn, i believe respawning is only good for coop missions and i was wondering wat script were u using with ur ai every move i made i was shot at! and i couldnt even c them i felt i was outmatched and scared for the first time in ofp! no mission was to hard for me, i still remember ur cats afghanistan mission was the best mission ive played only this mission beats it i only finished this mission by save cheat! hope to c more of ur missions i still cant get over ur jungle bits of the island its to goood
Gollum1 0 Posted October 6, 2003 just a question do u make the enemy troops respawn? They were respawning in the fourth mission, didn´t realize that until I had retreated out of the town to regroup. Needless to say, I lost A LOT of hard-earned ground.

This might be a great idea for those who are on Cable modems.. and are free from the limitation of a 56kb modem and download limits. I, myself, am on ADSL but I have download limit of 500megs per month.. after that I have to pay for every meg I download extra.. so I'd rather download 100 megs here.. 28 megs there.. 8 megs there.. etc instead of downloading a pack up to 2-400 megs and bust my download limit on one day :P No offence BAS, love your work and all, but I'm not going to, as a poor student, pay money if I dont have to :P Otherwise.. I do belive the tonal pack to be quite well made though I have not yet finished downloading it.. Cheers Joe
shadow 6 Posted October 6, 2003 I'm on ADSL without any bandwidth limit, but I can't see the usefulness in one big pack. All their downloads are in their downloads-section. Is it difficult to click on 6-7 links compared to one?
sco_jam 0 Posted October 6, 2003 I still can not get the pack to work. I have done a complete system scrub and defragmantation reinstalled the game (not to forget all the patches). The only addon is this pack and i still get the same crappy old message "no entrey Desciption.exe" or summthing like this. Also the guy who suggested that the all in one pack . Well i agree so sice i am over a special sky net link (Thank you Dick Flemmin for providing it) i am able to do things like downloading very very fast.... For example the pack took about 8mins to download so if you guys need me to start a special download link for this all in one pack just ask. Ihave a nice big 8oGB disk drive connected to my computer waiting to be used..
