Recommended Posts

1 more question , if you got a PS2 already , are an adapter for online game and the SOCOM game worth buying ?

-edit-

I have Ps2,

It is a great console. It also depends on how exactly you feel about console games.

The Console does'nt make what it is, but the games do.

So if you have interest in specific games like, Splinter Cell, Metal Gear Solid, GTA Vice City, and SOCOM.

Then yes, Ps2 is worth it.

Of all the consoles, the PS2 is likely the one I would buy for myself. Gamecube is my second place choice.

PS2 just has a HUGE library of games.

The only reason I bought PS2 was to see that famous bar fight in Medal of Honor:Frontline. And it was worth it. I suggest you buy it. smile_o.gif

ran get an xbox....

Dont let other make u jump on the I h8 microsoft and all corporations bandwagon. The xbox is a great console with everything u need to have fun: dvd player, included mp capability, and soon ofp. what else do u want?

Ps2 was so successfull just because it was still riding the wave of ps1 IMHO

I'd say an Xbox. But I don't own any game consols, other then my PC.

What I've heard is:Xbox=Better graphics.

PS2=More games.

And if you want to play GTA Vice City, get it for PC. The graphics are way better than the PC version. Plus you can import car addons made by the community.

It is better to buy an Asia version PS2 because there are so many really good fun Japanese games which you will never be able to buy in the USA.  Also, the american games usually are made for PS2, XBOX, and Gamecube even PC.  Therefore, it will be more cheaper to buy a $149GameCube(and u can play with four people without buying addtional stuff) American games.

The advantage for buying a Asia PS2 is you can get some new games earlier(for example, i have played FinalFantasy XI, FinalFantasy X-2 which u have to wait until next year in USA), but the disadvantages are it will be more expensive to buy ,and you may need to know some Japanese smile_o.gif

The conclusion, buy an asia ps2 and a amreican gamecube is one of a pretty nice choice

Just my personal experiance wink_o.gif

Yeah, get GTA3 for computer, someone made a T-80 pack for it. smile_o.gif I wish I had bought it for computer. sad_o.gif

Xbox is great, but I can only think if three games that are good for it; Halo, Halo and Halo. wink_o.gif

The ps2 was a piece of shit, it only got good when GTA3 and other cool games started coming out ,for about the first year or 2 there was fuck all for it but now its cheaper and u can pick up the good games now so it balances it out and u can watch dvds and play ps1 gamnes on it though i`d get an x-box insteadd if had to choose between the 2.

Xbox- I modded mine, and stuck a 120gig hard drive in it.

I've got a PS emulator installed on it, (People are working on a PS2 one! ), a software DVD decoder, and a great copy of Xbox Media player. (I can watch all my Futurama episodes etc on the XBox).

Best of all, you can install games, and run them from the Harddrive. No messing around with disks, as you simply select them from the games menu. Not only that, but the games run faster when you run them from the HD.

PS2 - Urghh. It doesn't even have a 3d card in it, and it shows!

well ive had a ps2 for quite some time. Very happy with it and have nothing against it. Great DVD player and it can read music cds too i believe. Havent tried that though.

One thing i would recommend to do is when using it as a DVD player do not hook it up to your vcr. If you can, hook it directly up to the tv. Cause when you hook it up to the vcr sometimes itll have periodic blue screens that pop up for a split second. So try to keep it hooked up to TV outlets.

And for games, well im not much on console games. I feel they're wayyyy to overpriced. 50bucks per game. Yeesh.. I think ill go out and buy a PC game or two.

Check out the Final fantasy games if your into RPG. They're really good.

PS2 emulators are in the works but who knows when those will come out.

HTH.

PS: If your going to get GTA vice city id recommend it on computer. So you can put your own songs in and get trainers instead of having to put in a combination of buttons for a cheat on ps2.

all in all ps2 is great and so is xbox. If you still arent sure which one try renting both from your local video store (like blockbuster (here in the US) ) Some might have consoles to rent some not.

I have a PS2 and the only reason I chose the PS2 over the other consoles is that the best boxing game (KO Kings 2001) and the best football game (Winning Eleven 6FE) are on it, I have a few other games but mainly play on it for those two games, if you like football you want to get a PS2, otherwise you'll have no other option than to play the annually disappointing Fifa series.

Another annoying thing with the ps2 is that dvd movies in the 16:9 format(widescreen?) make the ppl stretched up and down rock.gif and if u get the x-box i think u need to buy the dvd controller thing extra mad_o.gif

Yea dude,

I would suggest getting Xbox for the power.

Xbox is going to have many incredible mind blowing things coming out for it...

I have seen a AOL exclusive Halo 2 video.

And holy CRAP that was some of the coolest stuff.

Honestly it is always good to have all 3 systems.

I got all 3, (yes I am that much of a nerd)

-sorta- wink_o.gif

I will give a small thing about the 3 consoles.

a Great place to make your decision on console buying -

www.videogames.com

All you need to do is look around and see what specific consoles have.

Ps2 is the best and most used/owned console from the 3,

with plenty game genres

Xbox is just an advanced console and massive box of power

Gamecube I would not recommend buying.

I have not seen many games for this system.

A few that I am a fan of would be (Metroid, and Wind Waker)

But that is nothing special.

again,

VIDEOGAMES.com

And if you are wanting Ps2 for SOCOM: US NAVY SEALS,

I would suggest buying Xbox and purchasing and even better war game, Operation Flashpoint.

why some of you want me to play Operation Flashpoint , a game i own already on PC ? i doubt that the XBox version will create a big change from the PC version
