jotte 0 Posted June 29, 2003 lol Hellfish, I was just going to ask about those african guys Nice video indeed!
Nagual 0 Posted June 29, 2003 Will those new African soldiers be coming with it? Â Yes, though i didn't make those guys, so i cant say much more than that. But they will be part of the island release.
jotte 0 Posted June 29, 2003 After a closer inspection (I think the video have run about 15-20 times now ) they resembled some of the Nam pack 2 special force/SEAL units in retextured shape.
Postduifje 0 Posted June 29, 2003 Really nice work! I'm not feeling like reading the whole damn thread, but that last video sure looks awesome! Really looking forward to it -Post
ebud 18 Posted June 29, 2003 After a closer inspection (I think the video have run about 15-20 times now ) they resembled some of the Nam pack 2 special force/SEAL units in retextured shape. Since I made both the nam pack units and the african units, it was easy to use some of the nam pack units in a different flavor. It's more than just a reskin (Evis,Nagual and Deadmeat have added lots of little surprises), but initially they were never made for consumption outside of BAS, but things snowball and now they are perfect for the island. ruff 102 Posted June 29, 2003 comparing suchey and Earls USMC pack to the JAM is completely stupid. The JAM project is about all weapons having the same magazines (interchangeble) so that suchey's marines can pick up magazine from a (dead) BAS ranger or a JAM ammo-box. Beta testing this is quite easy Suchey's marines needs beta testing to find bugs and to check if the textures are correct. This takes a LOT more time. Becides; suchey is still working on models and earl did not complete all the weapons. That's why this takes probably 7 beta phases to complete. So why don't you just trust BAS when they say 2-3 weeks? coz i neva knew blackdog was a part of bas or is he?? can i get a confirmation from someone????right now my cable has been capped and i have to wait ages for bas website to be shown in 28k

dm 9 Posted June 29, 2003 coz i neva knew blackdog was a part of bas or is he?? can i get a confirmation from someone????right now my cable has been capped and i have to wait ages for bas website to be shown in 28k Blackdog never was, and is not a member of BAS. He took some screenshots for us, but that is all that he did. So don't go asking him about BAS, as you wont get any new info, and you'll probably just wind him up... RED 0 Posted June 29, 2003 Heres another something, for those who want to know:Isle Vid 4That video was made last week, since then the isle has got new ground textures and lots of nice changes. There is also some obvious LOD flipping, as even the jungle is using placeholder textures in this video. If you dont have windows media 9 codec you can view it in winamp (i think), but the colors will be screwy. As a team BAS is shaping this island up nicely. Nice video, I hope you guys will release some missions with this RED

MLF 0 Posted June 29, 2003 On the island could i request the use of Mapfact addons if your going to be putting Military bases in there? also are the textures on the Abram finished?
dm 9 Posted June 29, 2003 also are the textures on the Abram finished? Not quite... a lot of tweaking to be done
Eviscerator 0 Posted June 29, 2003 On the island could i request the use of Mapfact addons if your going to be putting Military bases in there? At the minute the island is still quite a way from being finished, we are still creating buildings/objects to add into it, and each version is changing drastically, there are no military bases on the island at the minute, and if there were we would not use external addons, it just creates problems with users having to download them and its a lot easier to make them ourselves. ExtracTioN 0 Posted June 29, 2003 Why BAS shows pictures of addons that are far to release  It only tease us and make it harder to wait it drives me crazy I remember the days where BAS was hesitant to show pics too soon because of gripes like yours. You could either: 1. not look at this thread (I dare you!) or 2. look forward to having some great new addons in the not-too-distant future. Couldn't past this thread I just can't resist To BAS sorry to be an jackass the desert pack just look beautifull and it is not ready so I wanted them so bad when I said that (not that I now say I dont want it I always love BAS addons cause it is pure quality addons) Saw on a german site that the pack will come in 2/3 months is it correct news Cause on BAS site there stays not that it is comming in 2/3 months confused Anyway good job guys hope it is coming earlier than 2/3 months cause that is 61/92 days Nagual can you show pictures of your island I cant get the video to work
dm 9 Posted June 29, 2003 Extraction - I would go with any info posted on the BAS site, that is 100% "official" and is the final word on anything BAS.

Eviscerator 0 Posted June 30, 2003 that is nice info DM m8 Â I was shoked when I saw on OFP ZONE 2/3 monate I have no idea where they got that information, even us BAS members arent getting ETA's off of Deadmeat, so i cant see why they've taken a guess and put it on their webpage
