We're only on Beta 5 of, I think, 7 total. Not even the beta testers have seen snipers or sniper rifles yet.

I got confused a few times and then finally gave up and put it up the way it was... might be errors :P

Looks absolutely amazing; 1st question, is the barrell on the m16a4 acog shorter than the others? If so that is a cool feature. 2, are you thinking of including any forehand grips or an/peq2's on any of the weapons? Either way is cool; personally right now I think they look amazing, but a tricked out m4 version with that stuff might fit in well. Thats my 2 cents, I have been following this project since post 1 at digitalgrenade and I can't wait for the day it's released. Thanks for all the hard work!

Click here for lovely lovely panorama of all the units by Suchey

Edit: just put captions of what units are

Great! your units are getting better on every scteenshot!

That's the first time I'really see it, but why do all marines except for the MFR wear desert boots?

And eastern and western medics seem to have almost the same vests. wink_o.gif

That link doesn't work for me. sad_o.gif

Did you want to show me some pictures from Liberia where they had the same boots on muddy ground? rock.gif Might be, that they expected some desert in Liberia? biggrin_o.gif Marpat is a great camo but I think desert boots would ruin the effect in woodland terrain... The MFR boots look good though... wink_o.gif

The link works. It's a gigantic file. The upper left area of the pic is all while, so it might appear as an empty browser window when the pic starts downloading.

It's 2 USMCs in marpats roping onto a ship deck during a training exercise.

Still doesn't work, but I've already seen that picture elsewhere. One of them has a DMR, right?

Quite strange, why are they issuing boots in a sand color?

The brown boots are the new issue USMC boots.  They are one common set of combat boots which are intended to be used in both wooded and desert environments.

Heres the official MARPAT site:

Info on the new boots can be found here:

Black is supposed to be a terrible color for cammoflage...I dont know the ins and outs or the science of it, but black sticks out to the human eye for some reason.

At the miramar air show, all the marines were in MARPAT camo and I must say that this is the correct boot color... smile_o.gif

Brown boots (not necessarily desert boots) are infact the common boots of the USMC. Black boots are indeed horrible for camoflague, same reason why woodland camo is being deserted (Amry is just sore about getting rid of woodland)

It doesn't have to be black... The green ones should be better for camouflage. Are the green boots issued to the MFR now?

and where can I see some RL marines wearing this grey marpat? I thought USMC didn't adopt any urban coamo so far...

Yes, Black is the worst colour possible to wear in the field. The issue of black boots to a military intended for combat is confusing to say the least. What happens, is that black never really does occur in nature. I have yet to see an entirely black patch of grass, that just grew in black, or a bush, ditto any other foilage. What happens, is that black doesn't really draw the eye to it, but it IS very conspicuous under any form of scrutiney. God knows that some other players wearing black boots has saved my ass during a Airsoft game at least twice. (I spot them, I shoot them. They didn't see me.)

Part of the problem, especially when you go prone, is that while you may think that having a black boot is fine, because its hidden by the grass, it isn't! Because, when you are prone, your boots are at the same level as your head! And if they see your boots, it doesn't matter how amazing your cam is on your head, because they'll find it an blow your head off.

Snipers, and the more astute Recon men have been fastening sandbags over their boots or spraypainting them, at least partially, with some other colours. Sandbagging the standard-issue boots is more common with snipers, as the sandbags hold up well, and it also helps to remove the outline of the boot.

Camouflage is a jigsaw puzzle. You remove enough peices, or conceal them, in order to break up a trooper's distinctive outline, blend him into his surroundings, and not limit his movement too much. CADPAT and MARPAT, along with a few dozen other really good cams in my opinion, are great for this.

Astounding work there Suchey. Lookin' amazing, and looking forward to release.

Yeah, the dumbest thing a sniper can do is add black boots to a ghillie suit. God. I've seen active-forces snipers make that mistake, and I think:

DARWIN, DARWIN, DARWIN! DARWIN DARWIN DARWIN! (To the Toga chant tune.)

Hate to get off-topic.

Oh yeah, right there. Wanna shoot something with a beautifully modeled unit.

Just a small update, The current Beta 5 that we are testing is going well, seems like fewer and fewer bugs are being found(like there has been many to begin with) When they do release these bad boyz it will be well worth the wait. I want to personally thank Suchey, Earl,Tact and along with the other beta testers for their efforts on this project. As you can see by the pictures that have been released so far it's going change the way you play ofp!  biggrin_o.gif

Gah... I feel that way, but MEH. They will apparently be released soon, with little hassle hopefully. Now, the problem will be finding enough mirriors, as I think just about everyone'll download this addon the second it's released, and give the rest of the community about three days to catch up, thanks to the Time Differentials.

Ahhh. You read Russian and understand it? That's interesting enough. You'd think that statement is obvious enough.. to clarify: The girl who didn't slap me across the face when I asked her to the movies. (And she's a nice one too. I'd post imagery, but that goes against what's left of my scant morality.)
