Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted June 22, 2003 Oh, don't worry; I've all the pictures of it which were released. I keep track of a numer of addon teams. To add something to my previous post; I just heard the russians also have cammo for every type of weather on every type of terrain for all seasons

dreday 1 Posted June 22, 2003 Excellent work on the Russians! The only problem that I saw is the wrong placement of sleeve patches. Russian Army regulations require that the patch with the flag and words "Armed Forces" be worn on the left sleeve while a specific unit patch may be worn on the right. That is one of the very few consistencies that you will find in Russian uniforms across the board. Unfortunately, you guys have it in reverse... should be an easy fix. Otherwise, great work! Guest DKM-jaguar Posted June 22, 2003 Do the trooops where any other markings? i know that you NEVER where rank becuase it's like telling the snipers you are worth shooting.
blackdog~ 0 Posted June 22, 2003 The MARPAT's do not war squad insignia on their arms in the form of squad insignia or arm patches. Only a US flag that is digitally watermarked into the uniform The naval infantry, I'm not sure.
suchey 0 Posted June 22, 2003 Thanks for the info on the patches...one of our beta testers had previously brought that up as well and it will be reveresed properly

Cpt. FrostBite 0 Posted June 22, 2003 in vietnam officers didn't wear the signs on their unifroms identifying them as officers. Also, saluting an officer in the field was something you shouldn't do.

There's also another one, the last link here. Where did you get those pics from? I'm very interrested in Russian gear, and searched all over the net for some good pictures. but I never had an idea of those helmets ever used in Russia. your source must be very good. hellfish6 7 Posted June 26, 2003 I didn't know that Russian medics had crosses AND crescents on their armbands. Guess you learn something new everyday. And it's 330 AM now, so I got a whole lot of brain-dead time to last the rest of today.

They don't have medic's IRL - so Suchey decided in order not to let them suffer while the marines heal at a navy corpsman, he gave them a medic (I think...) dm 9 Posted June 27, 2003 [Edit] nvm.. just me being slow... SO, the russians, looking really good guys, I suppose they will have the same sort of features as the Marines?
suchey 0 Posted June 27, 2003 Yes...they will have the same features...we have the same scripting built into them and same armor values so that one will not have an inherant advantage over the other in adversarial games. In regard to the Russian combat medic...Blackdog is correct...from what we've been told, Russia does not have a true military combat medic but, we didn't want to let the Russians bleed to death while the Marines had the opportunity to heal wounded soldiers via the medic...so I fudged a bit in the interest of balance. Koolkid101 0 Posted July 1, 2003 ARGH SUCHEY, I tried to get on your server last night at 10:30 but it kicked me off I bet you where testing you USMC units, blackdog, you, Enron Exec , and blackdog was losing ....
PFC_Mike 2 Posted July 1, 2003 I'd bias it in favor of the marines. IRL they are superior troops! At the least, will they have longer engagemnt ranges than the Russians?
suchey 0 Posted July 1, 2003 Its probably best to leave the AI in the hands of the mission designer as much as possible...however, since our weapons will be J.A.M. compatable, the mission designer can see fit to arm the units with high dispersions weapons to simulate this...Im pretty sure that high dispersion mags will be in the J.A.M. package. Koolkid...yeah...we were probably testing. Id like to take this quick opportunity in public to thank the handful of folks we have helping us in the this area! They are doing a great job and really helping ALOT to squash bugs and ensure that we release the best units we can produce!
ran 0 Posted July 1, 2003 I'd bias it in favor of the marines. IRL they are superior troops! At the least, will they have longer engagemnt ranges than the Russians? russian navy troops are , i think elite amphibious troops , and since they are infantry troops i think that like in every russian infantry squad , there's one dragunov shooter and wtih the use of modern reflex sights and russian equivalents of the ACOG mounted on the AK's , i'd say the russians range up with the marines
Sxep 0 Posted July 1, 2003 In real live i think the russians have a tuffer training than the Americans. I´m not saying that they have a better training. Hmm hopefully we will never know whos better in real. But its nice to hear that its almost done!
