Midnighters 152 Posted May 5, 2017 None! Welcome to arma 3, you're not going to get Battlefield, Call of Duty, arcade shooters, etc here. Welcome to arma 3, that sounds like a good title for a thread or something.

Welcome to arma 3, that sounds like a good title for a thread or something. You are blatantly lying now. Why enforce your own vision of this game by force feeding others the milporn aspect. There's probably more than enough "shooter" scenarios available. The game is a sandbox (combined arms military sandbox to be exact), everyone can do whatever they want with it, wether that be humpty dumpty KoTH, Life or anything else. Even the toysoldier milporn side. Nicely described in Sensor Overhaul OPREP: "Somewhere in between a shooter game and a simulator, our series holds a unique place in the gaming scene." How much does it hurt you if OP plays the game offline how he sees fit? And to answer OP:s question, it's more likely to find BF-style scenarios in MP, but making your own Sector Control mission in editor might also be feasible.
beno_83au 1369 Posted May 6, 2017 Most of my online public play is koth or exile/epoch (i spent about an hour in arma life a long, long time ago and decided that was enough for me). Most of what i like to make and play in sp or mp with mates though is based pretty firmly in realism. I really enjoy making realistic scenarios, probably more than i enjoy playing them. Fuck, I just can't win with you. Remember what ruined the Arma community from the beginning? The Dayz mod. KOTH, Altis Life, and these "battlefield" like scenarios follow the same trend and the same mentality. I sure hope you do realize I do not belong to a military simulation unit nor a group. Shoot. dragon01 902 Posted May 6, 2017 He was asking for offline BF-like game mode. I'm pretty sure there are none. All the arcadey crap is MP. Offline scenarios are, from what I've seen, mostly "storyline" missions, more or less similar to vanilla showcases and campaign missions (though voice acting usually isn't as good). They're also few and far between, in comparison to MP missions.

Bang, Youre being a hipster. Stop taking a hissy fit when someone else plays the game differently. It's taking nothing away from you. DayZ mod did not ruin your experience, or community, it has it's own community now. Neither KoTH or Altis life hurt you, these people enjoy their weird gameplay in their own servers. I'd argue it's your mentality that is hurting the community. (Wahh, you can't have it, because I liked it first.) Keep it classy.
beno_83au 1369 Posted May 7, 2017 Have a look at this thread, i only just noticed it myself: https://forums.bistudio.com/forums/topic/189939-spco12-dynamic-campaignmission-the-forgotten-few-2/ SP and coop, sounds like it might be close to what you're looking for. Absolutely packed with these dumbasses. It ruined my experience playing the game on public servers, it pains me even further when seeking out other players to play with. Because the mentality reaches outside of their own play space. Hipster huh? You got anything more clever?. I think you're misinterpreting my words. I'm saying as I played (and as many others played) arma 2, the call of duty instant gratification mindset really hurt the growth of the community that was oriented around tactics and teamwork. What I am saying, is that the trend still continues. Until you can see the same and maybe consider that I may be correct in some sense you're supporting it all. What I am saying, is that the trend still continues. Until you can see the same and maybe consider that I may be correct in some sense you're supporting it all. It really starts to seem like you don't know where to look for your desired gameplay. You probably should consider looking for the mil-sim groups. The only games I've seen some structure in public MP have been Arma, Squad and PR2. Arma having the least structure in pubs. It would be unfortunate for one to expect well structured, tactic and teamwork oriented pub games. Sure, I don't like the instant gratification mindset either, since I have been playing PC games all my life, but that doesn't mean I have to absolutely play on those servers. So it doesn't affect me. When dumbass trolls join, they get banned quick. Even the game mode I play on isn't perfect for me, it has things I would change instantly to push teamwork. But the only thing I could do, is make something better. It's up for the community including me and you to make such things to happen and not just demand it. And I do support the growth of all different communities within Arma, It's really backwards and stupid not to. Growth means sales, sales mean funds for developing. Not to mention new kinds of mods that spawn, like some or not. It's time to get those damned rose tinted glasses off and move on. Look for a group. Stop eating memberberries or something. The dumbasses have always existed in MP games. E: Topic is now officially derailed.
Grumpy Old Man 3546 Posted May 8, 2017 I enjoy my fair share of altis life or wasteland/domination. Especially on those few servers with the debug console enabled. Cheers

SpacePilotMax 47 Posted May 17, 2017 Frankly, when we get to the debate about unrealistic gamemodes, it's quite fun to see a BF-like mode in a more realistic setting. Much chaos happens.
