Kunduz, Afghanistan [10km] v1.20

I hope Kunduz update will roll out soon, all our custom maps looks similiar to this now:

i was playing alive insurgency on this awesome map.. the alive template comes with a base but I decided i wanted something a little more lively... that felt like i was at a working base and not the only guy there...

After a couple late nights this is what i ended up with...

 

 

I took FOB valhalla Template and built up from there...

Still not finished but its coming along..

My Kundz map is working fine since upgrade. looks great. No sky issues??

It's funny how some people straight up dropped projects after 1.60 was released. Yet there are people like yourself - James - who went with it, and worked with it, and actually updated their project(s). I appreciate that.

The new update looks great and you seem to have solved some of the ugly issues I still have post 1.60.

 

How many of the updates in the changelog come from just updating the config  (thanks for that BTW - it was a lifesaver!) and the terrain texture PAAs and RVMATs? What work did you do in addition to that? I'm guessing updating the clutter assets? And doing some photoshop surgery on your Sat image? 

 

This might not be the right thread, but could you share your process for fixing up Kunduz for 1.60? (Just the stuff relating to the visual upgrade, like the tree shaders - I see you've done some other maintenance in this update as well.)

 

It might help ease a lot of the 1.60 terrain pain out there at the moment. :)

The map looks even greater now. The thing my community likes the best that this map has no other mod requirements, no AiA or CUP needed. Keep up the good work.

Cosmic 1, that's a totally cool video!!

Thanks man!. It's trigger and scripted based and randomized with different planes etc. So it keeps happening while you are at the base but isn't active if you aren't for fps.

The helis that land either drop off guys or pick them up and those are random teams.

I just added in that the incoming units pop over and check in with the base commander before getting back on the hunter and heading out on mission.

Yeah, don't merge it with CUP. Don't merge it with anything. I wish no people would ever use AiA, CUP or anything that's Arma2. It's Arma 3 now, make maps standalone. I don't mind if it's 1 or 2 gigs, what matters is that I don't need to download 10 gigs of crap for 1 map i'd want to play.
