Took your advice and was able to add supressors to my weapon using VAS. Works great, thanks. 1 thing I noticed with sound using supressor + sub ammo. I've shot IRL both supressed sub and super sonic ammo and the sound effect using sub ammo on game seems too loud, closer to what i guess super sonic + supressor levels would be. Another thing i noticed is when using optics, the iron sights will "float" on the left side of the weapon. Other than that, the mod is outstanding. Love the detail on every weapon.

 

I know it was mentioned not to make requests especially knowing how much work is involved with the mod, but would you guys please consider adding more camos for the weapons (especially snow)? There's so many maps now and it would be nice to have camo that matches the scenery.

 

Also, have you guys considered adding anti-material rifles to the mod (50 bmg, 12.7x108mm, 14.5x114mm, 20mm)? It would be awesome to take out high value targets beyond 2000m using a Desert Tactical Arms HTI/ Swiss Arms SAN-511/ Barrett M107 or nuetralizing lite armor vehicles using an Anzio mag fed 20mm rifle/ Barrett XM109 25x59mm (prototype). HMMM...just a thought.

Hey, really pleased with what I've seen from your mod so far, just wanted to let you guys know that I think there may be a problem with the Iron Sights on the Tavor. At least for me the rear peep doesn't line up with the front sight post. You end up looking over the rear sight instead of through it.

We use all the same mods except for HLC. Can you try without HLC and see if it works?

 

Note that the ammo box won't work, you need to use arsenal/gear selector/vas or script (or add it to an ammo box manually).

I deactivated following mods:

 

- all HLC-Weapons,

- RH_acc,

and RHS_, RH_, ACE-comps...

 

no change:

 

- ACC: subpressors but no lasers and flashlights attachments

- Minimi Mk 3: no lasers and flashlights attachments

 

Use of arsenal/gear selector/vas or script!

This was already touched upon but the ACC Short varients iron sights and Aim down sights position are off. Also, the gun fires at a 90 degree angle.

iiswede: Yeah the ACC short version is broken at the moment after a last minute change:(. I'm not exactly sure when, but there'll be a fix in the near future.

I don't think it's possible to have different sounds for different magazines in Arma.

I tested it now without any other weapon and attachment mods and without ACE, RHS: no change... :unsure: sorry, no further idea what I can check... :huh:

 

Want to point out: It only affects AAC and Minimi Mk 3 - but I need the Minimi in full functionality :blink:

The ACC does fire at a 90 degrees angle for me too (CBA_A3 2.0 and SMA 2.0)

 

The zoom levels on your scopes are off, they are pre 1.48 making them having weaker zooming capabilities than the naked eye.

No problem its not you guys its a minor code error in the weapon box... already fixed on my end and we will send through a hotfix in a few days.

In the mean time you will find that the suppressors for the 300 blackout AAC are compatible just need to use the ASOR gear selector or vas and should work fine its just the SMA Box that has the drama..

The Marksman DLC optics do work on our weapons im guessing there is a ASDG joint rails conflict as Lecks was talking about. Check to see if ASDG is not conflicting as the new CBA has it built in.

Sounds like the asdg_extras.pbo is activated somewhere. That pbo makes it to where long range optics and things are not allowed to be placed on certain weapons (LMG's, etc...)

Is there a link to the test mission anywhere?
Seems like the one in the Play With Six folder is outdated, and I could not find any in the mod folder from Armaholic.

 

EDIT: it was the PW6 version that was not up to date. It got an update the other day, but it says version 1.901 and contains the old files.
Installed manually from Armaholic an everything worked, realized the new exhibition mission was listed under showcases and not missions as the old one.

Odd, having tested some more, DLC scopes and stuff work on a handful of your weapons, and do not on others. This is with ASDG_JR not running.

I just tested the AMS on all guns using newest CBA and SMA in the arsenal and they all worked. How are you testing this? The SMA ammo boxes are bugged (you can't put attachments on guns from them because they're listed as weapons rather than items in the box's config).

Yeah the 9 inch AACs are broken at the moment :(. BlazenChamber accidentally cloned the memory lod while making last minute changes, so anything that uses memory points is screwed up (including shooting/looking down iron sights).

I try to use SMA 2.0, but can't found weaopns in arsenal, nor in VAS, and scripted loadout neither.

 

I ve re-download from arma holic and from the other source. I ve tried some addon list change, and tried with only CBA v2.1.1, MRT and SMA... neither working.

 

I ve checked my arma files... no problem.

 

I can't found the showcase mission... the puzzle icon of SMA 2.0 is present in the lobby after CBA and MRT

 

And idea?

Such an awesome update guys. We did a mission last night just using the new weaponry. Outstanding quality as always.

Only a couple of gripes. Almost all the guns have no recoil. The mk3 has basically none at all you can just stand straight up and empty a box into what ever you without releasing the trigger. Don't get me wrong it is fun but i feel it cheapens the mod and makes it feel more arcadey than a genuine weapon.

Secondly I'm not super familiar with the guns in real life but they all kind of feel like cloans of one another they all almost sound the same, handle the and feel the same. I know many use the same ammunition but should an Aug a scar and a hk417 all operate this similarly?

I know it sounds like I'm griping but in all honesty SMA is my favorite weapon pack and this latest release is your best release to date.

heros z: Sounds like it's not loading any SMA files at all. On the menu, SMA should be represented by and SMA icon, not a puzzle piece. Don't really know why it'd only be a problem for you, but maybe try renaming the folder to just @SMA or @SMA2 without the space?

 

If this fails, could you paste your latest rpt file (maybe to pastebin.com )

The idea has been talked about, however for the time being I can assure you of 2 things.....

 

1. There are currently NO PLANS for a .50 BMG + weapons system.

2. The SMA team has been discussing the idea of sniper weapon systems, however that is all it is currently is an IDEA, NOTHING MORE NOTHING LESS.

 

 

Now on to other matters.....

 

It has come to SMA's as well as my own attention that the ballistics of a few weapons systems are not correct, I will post a list below of current issues, if you find others again please document the bug as best as possible. The SMA team currently has plans for a SMALL HOTFIX regarding some of the quicker fixes, anything else after that is either going to be implemented in a 2.5 patch or released at the sole discretion of the SMA team. Just to let you guys in on a little developing nuance regarding textures and models, once you make a correction in one area it has to be re-done effectively again (I am sure some 3D modelers and texture artists can go into more detail than I can here), this takes a great deal of time to do correctly. Most of what you will see in a hotfix is likely to be ballistic changes, a few positional changes of certain assets for weapons that will not require a re-work, and functionality corrections.

Which versions of CBA and MRT are you running alonside SMA?

 

MRT AccFns v.1.2 (latest) requires CBA RC6 (CBA v.1.1.2) or later.

 

The CBA authors changed their keybinding system at that release back in April, so I had to update the MRT mod accordingly. Mixing in an older, outdated version of MRT with the latest version of CBA wont register the keybinds properly, and vice versa for pre-RC6 versions of CBA with the latest MRT.

Thanks to Jeza and you Foxhound for the community support, I know you spend lots of time scouring these forums to keep people as up to date as possible and do not get enough recognition for it. The SMA team is working hard on a small hotfix that will fix some of the issues such as under gassed systems (rates of fire being too low), some descriptions, and some more intricate bugs that slipped by, and the hotfix should be ready real soon.
