sudayev 27 Posted August 14, 2014 Yesterday on russian tv they said that everything is "horosho" with Strielok". This either means that he is bad shape or probably receiving medical treatment in Russia.
ProfTournesol 956 Posted August 14, 2014 Someone in command is really thickheaded bombarding targets in the middle of a residential area, aren't they? Rebel held or not. Indeed. As well as pro Russian cowards hiding in residential areas.
beastcat 14 Posted August 14, 2014 That is the kind of comment someone might find offensive. You are really easily offended then, if you get offended by such a simple joke. lol But again, no idea how its like where you live, but here we have a thing called "free speech", that can't be stopped by calling things offensive. beastcat 14 Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) It is a simple courtesy to respect people enough to not purposely irritate them. If you are such a human being to not bother with this I am truly sorry for you. Well, fine then, if these things irratate you, Ill keep them to myself for you. :o Anyway, back on topic again, we have a new interesting conversation: I really hope they will translate it soon, because it has some very interesting details and they are probably better at it then me. The guy in Ukraine speaks about how the locals insult them and how noone wants to fight, how everyone instead of fighting is just stealing cars and selling them in Russia, the usual stuff. He also tries to get the FSB dude to organize a "window" for him (A way back to Russia) and speaks about sabotage groups he would like to send in later. Now, some interesting details on Strelkov: He says that Strelkov wants them to stay in the city and die fighting. Why? He says that strelkov is some kind of orthodox extremist who is fighting for some kind of orthodox goals. He suggests to give a window for normal mercenaries to return, so the fanatics can go under with the DPR. I guess this has been recored before Strelkov left, but in the video it is suggested to get Strelkov out of there so he can still command them (and stay alive). The picture one may get from Strelkov is that he is a total fanatical retard, who is extremely good at fighting wars, which ties in really well with what we know. Anyway, basic points we found out: - DPR is screwed - confirmed - Locals hate the separatists - confirmed once again - Strelkov is a insane freak - confirmed - The separatists are a bunch of criminals - confirmed - The separatists know they have no chance - confirmed Well, more stuff as well, but Im kinda too lazy for that right now. Colossus 2 Posted August 14, 2014 So apparently two of the journalists following this convoy, from The Telegraph and The Guardian, witnessed this a few hours ago: Shaun Walker - @shaunwalker7So @RolandOliphant and I just saw a column of APCs and vehicles with official Russian military plates cross border into Ukraine. Shaun Walker - @shaunwalker7To clarify. APC column separate to humanitarian convoy, which has halted. Is moving V close to border. But not size of proper invasion force Roland Oliphant - @RolandOliphant.@shaunwalker7 and I just witnessed a not insubstantial column of APCs and trucks slipping across the border into Ukraine. Roland Oliphant - @RolandOliphantDidn't even turn off their headlights. Saw Russian military plates on support vehicles, but no markings I could make out on APCs. Nothing new I suppose, but still.. negah 26 Posted August 14, 2014 Indeed. As well as pro Russian cowards hiding in residential areas. Cities are a strategic objective and it is normal be it conventional or civil war that many battles are carried out around or within cities including residential areas. And in the case of insurgency city battles are the only possible way to fight or be annihilated by superior forces. Was is cowardice of the Red Army to fight in the streets of Stalingrad? Was it cowardice of the polish resistance to fight in the streets of Warsaw during the Warsaw Uprising 1944?

There is a difference between fighting in ruins and firing from residential areas and hospitals. This is what the border at Uspenka looks like. The separatists just got 9 new tanks. Also here are the BTRs Shaun was refering to: The photo was taken 10km from the border and they are moving to Ukraine. There are no military bases or anything in the area, so unless they want to visit the village of Silin to get some fresh milk they are going into Ukraine. Also heres a video: Edited August 14, 2014 by beastcat

Yeah there is a piece of news of the Guardian were the author claims that. But: Why would the Russian Army start an invasion using the same road as the convoy where they know that there are journalists? My guess is that these troops are going to take positions close to the border ( as it seems there are more than 20.000 Russian troops in that border ). If they are gonna invade Ukraine, we will see. ( The Guardian ) Russian military vehicles enter Ukraine as aid convoy stops short of border ( Telegraph ) Russian armoured vehicles and military trucks cross border into Ukraine While it was not immediately clear whether all of that convoy crossed the border, The Telegraph did see a substantial number of vehicles pass through check point manned by gunmen after shadowing the convoy down narrow country lanes near the frontier. While the force did not seem to be a substantial invasion force, it confirms that military supplies are moving across the border. While the APCs carried no visible markings the fuel tankers and soft-skinned trucks in the convoy bore black Russian military number plates. How do you think the other BTRs and tanks got into the country? I dont think russians have mastered teleportation, so I would go with "they cross the border". If this was a proper invasion there wouldnt be much left of eastern Ukraine.

beastcat 14 Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) Yeah, but why on Earth would they do that just in front of the journalists. Aren't there enough roads? Well, there actually are not that much proper roads, especially going through the border. The road on the picture is actually the russian equivalent of a highway or an autobahn, as the population density is much lower. Also they have been doing it for so long, why fix something thats not broke? They dont know who is a journalist and who is not a journalist and they never really gave a crap about hiding anything anyway. Tonci87 163 Posted August 14, 2014 About Ukraine buying tanks: They have been doing that since forever. They buy old decomissioned crap for cheap, repair and refurbish it, and then sell it. Ukraine has a very large arms industry that mainly specializes in maintenance, repairs and modernisations of military vehicels. Croatias Mig 21 fleet was there for service when the conflict started. Now Croatia is a bit angry at Ukraine because many of the returned MIGs are not fit for service.

Tonci87 163 Posted August 15, 2014 The MIG-21 that crashed was repaired in Romania if I remember right. Yes true. However the MIGs now serviced in Ukraine have returned in a very bad shape. Currently the Croatian airforce is practically non existent. People are joking that the army should just bolt rocket pods on firefighter airplanes since they have the best pilots in Europe. I had one of those things come right at me a week ago, Will upload a video.
