CalamityUSSOCOM 11 Posted September 4, 2013 What qualifies? Current uniform but with the correct shoulderpatches? Is there anything I can throw together with the current models I have? If you are looking for some examples, then here you go. http://imageshack.us/a/img802/3956/sumu.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img442/427/xs00.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img89/1351/929467uysu1b.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img5/3547/86070352340c6397e1d0o.jpg

bad benson 1733 Posted September 5, 2013 these are really sexy. one thing though. could you go easy on the goggles? i'd even prefer if the goggles, even the ones up on the helmet, would be real goggles and not part of the helmet model. or maybe just let some more units use the helmet without goggles? and also the goggles have an alpha texture issue. other than that, these are amazing. looking really really good. aboslutely enhanced my coop experience yesterday :) just sexy: http://i.cubeupload.com/wSaR2h.jpg notice the double goggles ;)

Good point.Enhancing gameplay sort of like a ACE goggles. But those have real function. If there would be possibility to have function on and off that would be more then enough. I've thought about it, but then you remove the option completely to have goggles on the helmet, and tactical shades equipped. I know about the goggle alpha-texture issue when it's ontop of the helmet. If that is the one you meant. Right now I'm not so sure why it is so. just sexy: http://i.cubeupload.com/wSaR2h.jpg That bug with the vest getting really dark in shadows has started to annoy me. So I fixed it. Was a tiny error in the .rvmat. I also updated the normal map so the molle stands out less, making it more pleasant to look at. http://imageshack.us/a/img837/7236/8tsc.png Also tweaked the undercolor of the combat-shirt. Now it's slightly brigthter and less saturated. Does it look better? http://imageshack.us/a/img855/1792/d96m.png Edited September 5, 2013 by AlexVestin

bad benson 1733 Posted September 5, 2013 looking fantastic. yea i get what you mean about the goggles. i think i just found that after placing all units to check them out, that too many had goggles on their helmets. as long as there are helmets without them, it's totally fine. the alpha texture issue might be caused by the env_ texture. if not it's probably related to the "canOcclude" property. so it might be that while the faces of the visor are transparent due to their texture, that they still block out what is behind them. so since they hide the terrain too, all you get is the skybox. try it out http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Named_Properties#canOcclude i hope it helps. i'm really enjoying the units. they give the game another immersion boost since they are proper grunts and not like those tacticool "nato" dudes with every available extra kit, except a cover, on their helmets. AlexVestin 24 Posted September 6, 2013 (edited) After some changes, this will probably be the Heli Crew/Pilot for the next version. Comparison between IndUs and vanilla A3: http://imageshack.us/a/img32/4529/rjq.png It's the best I can do with my current set of models. CalamityUSSOCOM 11 Posted September 6, 2013 I like, but Pilots/Crews these day mostly wear OCP (Multicam). Other than that look pretty cool :D. I like
AlexVestin 24 Posted September 6, 2013 I like, but Pilots/Crews these day mostly wear OCP (Multicam). Other than that look pretty cool :D. I like I figured. I seem to be doing 2010-2011 era stuff based on what everybody is telling me :D The units I am focusing on are the UCP units since that's something most people really can relate to. OCP units are quite easy to include after I've managed to get the setup of units finished. My plan is to find myself some IOTV's to equip the UCP units with, and then keep the majority of plate-carriers on OCP units. Would that make sense?

Spaceman0372 19 Posted September 9, 2013 Loving this addon! Any chance you could texture the NATO combat uniforms to use this OCP, since the standard uniforms appear to be made by Crye? It would make it much more modern/realistic.
Flemdot Jr 10 Posted September 9, 2013 hey alex i like the work that you have done, however it would be nice if you could add a grenade-launcher to the barrel of the m4/16 and create a new class thanks:)
instagoat 133 Posted September 9, 2013 Loving this addon! Any chance you could texture the NATO combat uniforms to use this OCP, since the standard uniforms appear to be made by Crye? It would make it much more modern/realistic. They're not crye combat uniforms. They're kitbashes between british UBACs shirts with crye style elbow pads and crye style combat pants. The SOC guys are working on proper crye gear, they have screenshots in their thread, and they look supremely delicious. As far as retexes go, there's also Sabre's US Army out there already which has fantastic textures. The only thing that detracts a little bit from the vest is that its inside is transparent, so at certain angles you can look under the straps and into the backside and you can look right through it. That aside, I'm loving it. The only thing I would ask is, is there the possibility of having the US Flag removed on the plain variants, for rebel/pmc use? Maybe replaced with a morale patch? AlexVestin 24 Posted September 10, 2013 (edited) If you could include the HMG and GMG M-ATVs that would be awesome. I could easily do that. Since I've already made the textures for the armed versions too :) Left them out for the moment because I thought they were looking too futuristic. hey alex i like the work that you have done, however it would be nice if you could add a grenade-launcher to the barrel of the m4/16 and create a new class thanks:) I've been looking around for a grenade launcher other than the M203. I have a M203 able to be fitted onto the M16A4, but no shorter version yet. It also needs some fixing with it's leaf-sight textures. Could you give the vests more inventory space? Thanks. :) Will look into it! The only thing that detracts a little bit from the vest is that its inside is transparent, so at certain angles you can look under the straps and into the backside and you can look right through it. Ye, I know about that one. Will see about filling the gaps. Not something fancy, though. It'll probably look terrible when it's on the ground, but it does now anyways since it's the wrong model when it's on the ground. Right now it's the independent vest model with the eagle SPC vest textures. Looks odd. The only thing I would ask is, is there the possibility of having the US Flag removed on the plain variants, for rebel/pmc use? Maybe replaced with a morale patch? I'll only keep the flag for the UCP/OCP versions then :) What kind of morale patch would fit without looking extremely copy-paste? Major-League-Infidel? Could just leave it blank too. Loving this addon! Any chance you could texture the NATO combat uniforms to use this OCP, since the standard uniforms appear to be made by Crye? It would make it much more modern/realistic. What InstaGoat said, and maybe. Some units might actually fit with that uniform, but I might also just include the NATO uniform to add more content. instagoat 133 Posted September 10, 2013 http://www.milspecmonkey.com/morale-page <- tons of morale patches to inspire, his store page has even more (In the hundreds). Also includes photos of theater made patches. There are some fun things in there, some easy to replicate, some not. There's also PVC patches, which would be fun to do with normal maps, they can be made to look very tangible and plastic (pardon the pun).
