Models looks alright, just some refining is needed but what is the most important

they look more authentic then present ones!

PS/ What's the deal with plastic handcuffs?

Do grunts in army get issued one or is it just different perspective?

"grunts" can take whatever they deem necessary to complete the mission. and this is based off a real plate carrier in use today, i should know its sitting behind me ! lol

I should be more clear by grunts I mean US army ; ) If you like it that's great, I don't wanna sound to picky, just looking at random videos and picture and trying to

get general sense of things.

Dave, do you by any chance have the cover-less helmets available too? I could work some magic with more variations.

Also. I'm thinking of replacing the independent vests all together. It's quite odd in some places. The uvw is overlapping on many parts.

As for updates. I got quite a few bugs fixed and smaller stuff tweaked. Mk12 will have working flip-sights, many more M4 variants, etc. To just name a few things. I think I've said it before, but the muzzleflashes are fixed now. Probably the most irritating bug in the curently released version.

Oh, is it not a completely different model? Is it just textures?

Not a priority, but would be nice to have also. If it indeed is just a texture for the same model, it would only be good I guess :)

For those interested. This is my changelog (so far) for the next version:

1.5

-Updated the M4 family texture to a darker tone.

-Updated the UCP Uniform texture. (+new boot textures)

-Updated the backpack texture.

-Updated the ACH texture.

-Removed Medic backpack texture.

-Adjusted helmet position. (Goggles fit better)

-Added woodland and desert camo variants for all M4/M16A4/Mk12/M249.

-Added tan M-ATV.

-Added more 3D geometry to the ACH helmet.

-Added a temporary soldier wearing a OCP uniform, backpack and helmet.

-Added a new faction category for the units in editor. (Next to NATO)

-Added a mod icon.

-Added a temporary ghillie uniform.

-Added a rotating muzzleflash for the m249.

-Changed the m249 para bipod position slightly.

-Changed a lot of classnames. (!)

-Fixed M4/M16A4 muzzleflashes so they are in their correct position.

-Fixed a few weapons not using their RVMAT files for some parts.

-Fixed M249 railcovers so they hide when attaching a accessory.

-Fixed Mk12 flip-sights.

You may already know this, but when I load in the current mod to the dev branch, the units have a Altisian flag on them for some reason. Can't provide a screen at the moment. Have you considered modeling your own uniform? Make a ACU version and MC version since they are different in pocket placement and what not. Just a thought. Love the changelog. Super excited.

Yeah, it's noted. The only change seem to be the "ISAF" patch being replaced by a patch the same size like the IR flag now. I'm not so good at high-poly modelling, else there'd be a few uniforms done years ago. I can do hard-surface stuff, but not cloth that requires higher-poly sculptures to work with.

I know how to get them working.

I need to tweak the rvmats and buff the vest up some more at the back, but it's a great start!

I do believe this is going to be the foremost U.S. Army mod on Arma 3. It just keeps getting better. Beyond excited! Those screens look unbelievable.

man am i glad you have proper MICH models now. and really nice ones with great textures and normals too! and as expected the multicam matches the quality of the UCP (or whatever the heck it's called). i'm by no means an expert when it comes to gear and camo patterns but you manage what lots of people don't. your textures totally blend into the colour scheme of the overall game. just looks very crisp and the textures on the new models are all awesome too. really glad that those great independent uniforms are put to good use and that everything matches their quality.

great job! can't wait to be ambushed on FATA playing those guys ;)

The Mulitcam blends in perfectly! And with that gear, it's amazing. Alex, you are truly out-doing yourself with this mod. And then to surprise me with the new textures to the weapon, I was blown away. Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this mod with efficiency and quality. Can't wait to see all of it in game.

for future reference AV, what is wrong with the rvmats? i have no idea what has changed since arma 2.

if you could let me test them out once you have them stable i would be very appreciative, if you decide not to though i understand!

Nothing really. I'm just doing it all step by step. Model first, then the textures.

I could pm you a test version later, but will probably try to get a few bugs sorted first. Big thanks to you for the well crafted vest! :)

I've fixed up the vest and it's weightning quite good now. It had a problem with stretching as parts were weighted to the characters arms and shoulders. I made it follow the chest only, and almost all weird stretching dissapeared. Still a few pouches on the front that needs fixing, but it's taking shape.
