Arma figurines

Recommended Posts

Given all the cool proprietary tech I would love to see some arma 3 figurines, like the McFarlane ones.

Even just a diver one, a BLUFOR with MX rifle and OPFOR with their unique camo and helmets.

Obviously games that have their own figures are generally cult hits like WOW or halo or MGS and arma isn't there yet (thankfully?)

Anyone else think this would be cool? BIS Store opportunity? I would be more inclined to buy this than the current most pad and coffee mug offerings!

Eeeeehhh....

I really don't think those figurenes would be... Special enough. Theres nothing in the ArmA games that are unique, really. Nobody would ever think it would be from the game if they had never seen it before. If you get what i mean. <.<

(I would love to buy a cup with arma 3 on it though. But im pretty sure i've seen that already)

I would buy Arma 3 gear!

I would like a figure of a US soldier with a little plaque under his feet saying:

"Oh no, 2! Is DOWN! Shit! They got... 3! Oh no! 4 is down!"

Or maybe a guy laying prone with blood on his legs, with the comment:

"Fuck, my leg..."

Haha just kidding...

These relate to Arma 2 of course, not Arma 3.

I would like some Arma merch, but as Nexerius said, Arma has no unique characters. You would be better off just buying small military figures?

I agree with Nexerius. There is nothing special in ArmA that would warrant a figurine. Pretty much all equipment in the game is real-world equipment.

Couldn't you just buy an Ultimate Soldier figure and kit it out with weapons they use in-game?

You know what would be cool, some kind of model with a big, thick base, with a plaque on it. It could say something like:

"OFP. Arma. Arma 2. Arma 3."

And from left to right, have a flashpoint soldier, an arma soldier, an arma 2 soldier, and an arma 3 soldier.

It probably sounds bad, but in my head it looks quite cool. I would buy one!

I think it'd be a cool idea for merchandise to have airsoft versions of a few of the weapons. Maybe even an opfor helmet 1:1?

yes, off topic but this probably wouldn't be viable from a business POV - you could probably build a replica airsoft rifle from basic AEG internals and various Magpul components which seems to be what the MXC is sort of based on. As to the 6.5mm mags you may struggle....

Yeah but the MX rifle for instance and its variants is very cool but not available in model form. Also, I'm more talking about all of the proprietary BIS tech that they developed and had designed for the game. Ifrit etc.

I'm sure that there will be more cool unique weapons/vehicles in the full release given how many awesome things we already have in the ALpha

this would only be worth it for call of duty because the demographic is mostly children, but most grown ups don't play with dolls anymore.

also, just an observation, i always found it strange how people can't appreciate possessing a virtual version of the character, and instead want to pay for an ugly plastic version with bad proportions and many flaws.

maybe for older games it made sense, but now the in-game models are much better than any kind of doll you might get, unless it was some kind of high detail resin model.

To be honest that's amongst the most idiotic things I've seen on this forum. So children play with dolls and adults play... video games?

I'm not talking about GI Joe I'm talking about highly detailed realistic mounted figures - just like adults have realistic functional RC planes or detailed model trains etc - its called a hobby.

+1 towards the most idiotic shit i've seen in a while. The awards go to Johncage.

do you think this plastic (vinyl to be precise) toy is for COD kids as well?

Anyhow, what you COULD do sproyd (if BIS makes any mlods available for A3), grab the 3d file, clean it up a bit, then send it to shapeways or similar for 3d printing (you get to choose the material). Then....profit! (rotomolding could be an option, but most of the times is way too expensive unless you make quite a few).

Can we at least get some BI forums moderator hand puppets?

Just like video games, right? I suggest you look at ThinkGeek. Expensive nerdy figurines are quite the thing. There is also a large hobby community for people who enjoy 1/6th scale military figurines and dioramas. How many kids do you think use their "dolls" to pretend civilians are fleeing the Germans?

As a bit of a side note, check out the documentary "

". I get the feeling you might laugh, just like the kids who attacked him, but maybe not. Edited by Fuse

Great idea. Also who said *models* are for kids??

Well as the OP I never stopped thinking about this, and while it's not an official arma figurine, I did manage to put this guy together as the diver from arma 3! Note the fins on the waist, the dive mask, the rebreather, the steely look off awesomeness!

Love the idea!

I don't buy figurines normally (they are all same-same!), but that idea is different enough. A conversation piece.

I dunno, the OpFor units are pretty cool!

Agree!

Also, for those who do reenactments or such. Like was said earlier, the OPFOR helmet is pretty unique, different, interesting. Cooling system not included (though in some places, I wish).

Yeah, a plaque like that one picture representing the evolution of Arma would be good. Or maybe an Arma themed evolution of transportation. (A bicycle, like the Arma 2 marine one with stormtrooper on it, to a car/tractor/truck, to a tank, to a helicopter or jet)

I'd definitely buy this kind of thing.

Also, a small 3-D relief map of Cherno, complete with little houses and such, would be wonderful, though it'd have to take up a whole room if you wanted the houses to be macroscopic.

...All possible with 3d printing...

Just need the 3d files... and BIS permission
