based on solid experience most people will probably do some or all of the following:

fail to install properly

get a weird directX error

crash to desktop on starting the game

update graphics drivers (several times)

update windows

fail to install the patch properly

patch xfire

delete battleeye and reinstall it manually

attempt to run the game from steam and fail 100% for at least a month until there is a 600 post thread on it brought together by frustrated moderators chasing identical topics springing up all over the boards (not a good idea to buy it from steam)

any of us longstanding players who get it working straight out of the box (with a little persistence) will undoubtedly spend our first weekends, nights and weeks servicing all of our clan mates with problems as above...

oh and then

download the mod launcher

test run a server cfg

personally i will

blow up some crowds and stuff with satchels in the editor and film it and put it on youtube

make a basic mission with a chopper and ammo boxes and some enemy groups dotted around the new island(s) to have an exciting explore with my buddies

go for a swim and a skydive

then getting serious...

cut open all the pbos and write a massive unit classname list and publish it on the forum for mission makers

make an ammo box and unit arrays

port evolution into A3 (will likely take a few weeks or months depending on the code changes required)

Same thing I always did in ArmA games: launch the editor, put two squads on the map and see them fight.

Start the game, check Multiplayer for a minute and close the game. Then wait for the first community made MP missions.
