Everybody's talking about Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon. What about SWAT 4? Awesome CQB tac shooter, folks, I'm surprised it's getting mentioned so little in this thread.

It will be interesting to see how this progresses and whether my pledge actually allows me to have any say!

I really hope it works out as this is a viable alternative to publisher funding which, I think, if PC gaming in particular is to survive is a positve.

I hope they resist the temptation to go down the FPS route and do actually produce a decent tactical slow paced game.

I really hesitated to contribute - donate as I didn't believe they could pull it off and last, that something trully hardcore-realistic CQC would actually make it. Silly me I guess. Either way Im glad they have the resources to start it and I sincirely hope it will be hugely popular. Good for them.. (and us)

I'm glad this went through. I've been craving for a SWAT 4 sequel in terms of gameplay for years and I hope this will be it. Now let's hope there is a publisher out there with enough common sense to finance this.

Raven shield = immersion (sound & eax is superb) and good planning section, but niggly AI when breaching and stacking but was great for MP, Swat 4 = better stacking and order AI commanding but crap sound (effects) and great MP.

If they get the best of both, its purchase time.

Wooohooo! I'll take this over a potentially viable game with pilfered photos used as concept art any day. After all this time, the WIP shots still look good, but that is neither here nor there. I just want me some good 'ol tactical gaming goodness.

Man, I owned Swat 4 thru D2D but have recently reformatted my HD. Now Gamefly has bought them out (thanks for the notice D2D wih my 3 games :mad: ) and they're telling me it's not available for download at this time. Another casualty of digital distribution I guess....

Great news that they actual pulled it out at the finish! Sad that we Tac-shooter lovers are reduced to this tho.

Well, after a lengthy and somewhat convoluted process with those nit-wits over at GameFly, I finally have my account up and merged properly. Unfortunately though, it appears I never purchased SWAT 4 as I already had the CD's at that time and instead bought The Stetchkov Syndicate way back when.

So I'm outta luck. :banghead:

Blackfoot Studios, Ground Branch Kickstarter campaign coming soon.

So KS is proving to be a relief in the niche markets. It makes me wonder in how many ways it can contribute to the development of the Tactical-shooter genre: addon funding, leagues, etc.

Several years. But that means they already have a good portion of the game done, as can be seen by screenshots etc. They might show off a video today I hope.

Afaik most of the gameplay elements are in the game as prototypes and all the Kickstarter funds will go towards finishing those elements to a shippable state. By any means they have more work done and are more trustworthy than Serellan and Takedown.

Don't notice any change, if any, it is excitement, there isn't really anything better then having more hardcore tac shooter on the route, so how about stop all the haters-gona-hate post?
