JSparks819 1 Posted January 21, 2012 I really wish this game would be available on consoles.. I know it would sell big because there isn't anything like it. Just from the gameplay seen, it looks amazing. Battlefield 3 has already gotten boring but this game looks like one of those games you don't get bored of. I know the PC is far superior to the consoles but I'm sure they could still run this on consoles. A LOT of people would pay to play this game on consoles for sure. PLEASE THINK ABOUT IT! Arma will stay one of the last true PC only titles on the market and I think that's a good thing. Arma 3 will come out sometime at the end of this year; investing in a propper PC when the time has come will be the best investement you could make. But, it's best for me with the time and money I don't really have just to stick with PS3. purepassion 22 Posted January 21, 2012 yeah it really is ^^ It is especially in the interest of the core Arma experience to keep it PC only. One of the main aspects, as you already mentioned, is the community and modding scene. Arma would basically loose its spirit and heart if there wouldn't be this awesome community with all those creative minds :) Despite all the massive load of work, imagine the limitations the team would have to face when they would try to bring it to consoles. I really suggest you to start saving up some money as soon as possible and buy a propper PC when the game will be released so you will be able to fully enjoy it in all its glory :) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

nodunit 397 Posted January 21, 2012 Given the required specs, even what could be next generations consoles might not be able to run it, but raelly as many have said, to get it on console it would have to lose many many things including it's soul, it really is best kept on PC where things can be pushed and pushed rather than constantly finding workarounds due to technology that cannot be upgraded. Flash Thunder 10 Posted January 22, 2012 Better save up at least a thousand dollars if you want to play it then it wont come out on PC. If you want an older game buy OFP Elite for original Xbox. On_Sabbatical 11 Posted January 22, 2012 Arma is a "real time" game , which means that you havea huge map with a lot of AIs on it that do things at the same time,nothing is scripted and there are multiple of possibilities of what could happen :D Even the benchmark we have in this game is not the same all the time :D And ofcourse there are a lot of commands that really require a keyboard and a 7 button mouse :P. A sacrifice well worth it to whom? Certainly not to ArmA's audience. What Limitations other than the lack of scripting in editor (which could be done w/ xbox keyboard anyways) VD was like 200-500m, thus missions were reworked for a closer combat (engagements were certainly at closer distances which probably meant that AI was nerfed). Also don't forget that OFP is a much more simple game than ArmA2 - when it comes to an interface as well. There were less keys used in OFP than in ArmA now. All this hatred towards consoles and console gamers is just ridiculous. It's obviously a valid question from a newcomer to know if and why this game will/could be published on consoles, even if it was answered several times.
