Can anyone make out what launcher the solider on the left is holding in his hands? It looks disposable... is it the AT-4?

Very hard to say ,but it looks like a AT4 or some modern lightweight AT

I was sceptical of A3 at the beginning, but the more is revealed, the more I look forward to it. Just take your time BIS, don't show too much in the mean time and I'll buy the game and discover it myself. :)

(The stance of the character in the new video seems altered, more bend forward, anyhow I like it.)

but now - i still don't know what is that Tan weapon before underwater scene - it really looks like Bushmaster ACR ,but it still looks different - like Polish weapon MSBS , dunno

That is definately not an ACR. Doesn't have the same gas system from the looks of things.

Edit: I'm refering to the weapon in the underwater pic with the girl swimming. For the gun seen at the camp just before the underwater demo in the new video, I'm not so sure, because it does look similar to the ACR, especially the buttstock at least. If it is the weapon, I'd say it's more likely to be the ACR and I don't think it'd be the XCR, ever. That gun couldn't even get it's shit together to make any progress in any of the last few weapon's trials it participated in (and the owner of Robinson Arms is a cunt).

Since Remington is currently under contract to produce m4's and such for the US military now, it'd make more sense that the ACR would be featured over the XCR since Remington also produces the Military/LEO variant of the ACR (Bushmaster makes the civilian variant, both Bushy and Remy are owned by the same company Cerberus).

They improved their current forward-shading/lighting engine, but didn't switch to deferred lighting (It's probably not trivial to make the switch sadly).

Hence why the number of lights is limited and shadow casting lights even more so. Only one per scene : Sun or Moon.

Outdoor Daylight scenes will probably look great (they already do !), but in interiors and at night, we have the same problems we always had. No light occlusion.

I was gonna argue, but getting more looks at the rifle, it does appear to be the XCR.....which makes no damn sense (from what I mentioned earlier) but okay.

Sounds, lighting, and underwater all look great. Tactical pace looks good but kind of resembles the pace of a typical fps... But I'll wait till the alpha before i judge. Great job BI.

To increase performance, we also use a technology to transfer distant lights - those with no effect on the scene - into the satellite map. Of course, we transfer them back when their effect starts playing a role again.

Does this mean we will have virtually unlimited shadow draw distance? And will those distant shadows actually cast on units under them? Would be kind of weird to see some guy hiding in a shadows far off but still totally illuminated because the shadows were only transferred onto the terrain.

why would you want to do that? also lights are almost invisible in normal daylight.

Alarm lights on police vehicles, headlights when driving through a road covered by trees, using a flashlight in a darkish room to give some additional light, etc.

Regardless, I just keep rewatching the video and thinking how awesome it looks. The sound from the vehicle gun is pretty good as well I think.

Do those underwater weapons use supercavitating ammunition and have a limited accurate range ~25m or will there be no difference to standard ammunition in A3?

There will be some differences between underwater ammo and standard ammo :)

I don't want to be that guy, but... if you look close you can still see them. It's barely visible when he is near the "ELITE TEAR ONE OPERATOR!!!!" Allas... the WIP status continues, hope remains

I just realized the weapon shooting under water should've had bubbles coming from the camber or barrell! It would sell it much more convincingly as well

while making my own red dot, i noticed i cant see the red dot at certain angles. so yea it does seem WIP :)

but shooting under water looks cool :D nowhere is safe in this game

How far can a bullit go underwater? I think not very or at least it won't be that deadly (or deadly at all)
