Yes. So what they've found is that it's easier to extract information, or just plain conversation if it's woman to woman, as opposed to man to woman.

I don't see why not. It's only fair to females who enjoy ArmA as well, and it fits with a modern (or in this case, near-future) military. The argument about not having women soldiers in Afghanistan is silly because ArmA 3 doesn't take place in Afghanistan, and even then considering the amount of settings that mods and expansions bring to the table, I don't see why there shouldn't be female soldiers even if the primary map was Afghanistan.

It would be nice if we can at least get them as medics... If BI does not want them exposed to binary danger, we could at least get them for our FOB/HQ. A female model dressed in combat fatigues or maybe a T-shirt and combat pants (going for the sexy look). What I'm saying is, don't add them as civilians or if you do add them as civilians make them look like they are part of the military.

TBH I won't complain if we don't see any female in the armed forces... it's just a nice touch, but if esthetics get's in the way of game play diversity I can do without them in the game.

T-shit

:p

But yeah, I'm all for a female animation set, just so they can see combat, even if they don't in the official campaign.

What's the point of that, then you have female soldiers that can't do jack.

Remember that time I closed the females soldiers topic?

And thank you, Tremanarch, for demonstrating that this topic can't exist without useless spam on every page.

Unlocked on request. Everyone remember that we now can ban users from threads - so no more dirty phantasies, stupid sexism etc else... well you guess it. ;)

Relevant timing. I really think that BIS should include female soldiers in Arma 3.

This is something that I thought applied here. It technically hasn't happened yet but is expected to tomorrow: [uS] Military to open combat jobs to women

Many had specualted that it was just a matter of time. Its a good move I think.

I would love for BIS to confim female models have an animation set equal to males, ie combat, uniform changes, and driving!. Even if they were only used a set pieces for the main campaign, It would be nice to know that the extra depth was there for future events and for those few female ArmA players I've met over the years.

BIS the poll has spoken!

BIS the poll has spoken!

Unfortunately BI creates only what is absolutely necessary for the game and campaign/missions. If they would create everything voted with "yes we want this", then they would still create content for ArmA1.

Actually polls are rather useless because the majority of users clicks on yes, even if they don't have use for it or don't even know what it is all about.

But yes, proper female characters would be nice of course. But only if they don't look like straight from outer space...

I agree. There is no good reason not to include them.

Regardless of the number of female Arma players out there - if the internet has taught us anything, it's that dudes like to play dress-up. I just cringe at the thought of a flood of "sexy" Multicam mods.

Maybe that's a good reason...

Anyway, let 'em fight!

TBH, I would be satisfied if we get women as A-10D pilots or maybe RAH-66 pilots... and we can have a mission where we save one of the A-10 pilots after she got shot down by an Iranian UCAV while she was trying to intercept an Iranian cargo helicopter carrying Greek civilians to their central processing center on Limnos

Seriously though, I am fully aware that BI has to prioritize when it comes to resource allocation... but you know, a sexy woman's voice using near-futuristic military lingo can do wonders for ones morale :bounce3:

There is no good reason not to include them.

There could be some good reasons to not include 'em; BIS didn't though about add female combat units in a begining, so to include 'em now... they should hire a girl/woman to record her performing all the game's anims on mo-cap, wich could be expensive and sure that requires alot of time. Also, they should not only make female combat unit models and beta-test 'em, they should also record various female voices (to have more than one voice to choose from) saying all the game's orders... taunts.. screams, yelling, dialogs... wich is also another time consuming thing, more than expensive; so those are the only reasons that BIS could have to not include 'em in a begining on the game.

Other reason... could be to bleed out money from you; making 'em a DLC with a mini-campaign, that you'll have to buy yes or yes... because everyone will buy it and would use 'em in MP aswell in SP missions, so after a while... BIS could add 'em as a DLC arging release time/schedule reasons.

I don't think movement will visually differ when youre stuffed in overalls and kevlar.

Also I'm pretty sure there are civilian female animations already there.

I don't know why it's even still a debate in politics right now. If a woman meets the physical and mental tests that come with infantry training, there's no reason that woman should be denied. If a woman cannot handle the training, don't kiss her ass, kick her out.

It's never the case at least for physical tests which are "adapted" for women. Moreover I talked with NCOs in my country who told me women were much more refractory than men to discipline and generally lesser soldiers. It's just the usual liberal idealistic bullshit agenda at work.

Except the physical demands at basic and infantry training are considerably lower than those that will actually be required when the infantryman is deployed with his unit. That hasn't been a problem, because they've been able to raise their performance before deploying, or been kicked out to some other position, but now it becomes a problem, because basic biology says that women have 50% less upper body strength and 30% less aerobic capacity. Imagine how that'll end when they're going to carry 60-80 pounds of body armour, weapon, helmet, backpack, ammo, equipment, etc. a warm day in Afghanistan.

Just imagine the outrage of some people if an A3 female soldier kick ass and chew's bubble gum.... imo it could be totally worth to break with the stereotypic roles and let all the fuzz about it work as marketing/advertizing bonus. Of course the A3 female soldiers should look nice and not like some japanese b**bdoll or military barbie. :D
