ArmA 2 site hacked

Recommended Posts

As previously said, I’m probably reading too much into all this, given the real-life “Iranian Black Hat Boys†hacker group. It’s just that my curiosity was drawn to the two uses of the word “Persia†specifically (as opposed to “Iranâ€):

1. In the name “Persian Black Hat Boysâ€;

2. In the Chinese characters.

Maybe just file the “Persian†thing under “Incongruous/miscellaneous†and leave it at that.

So let's move on. What are they trying to tell us?

Czech isn't known for hackers, spammers and domain squatters. There must be a link here with the owner and BIS.

no to be honest that site is already out there for a longer time then you think even way before the speculations, so far i spotted that site my self like hmmm 3 or 4 months back im not sure.

Edit: although i can not say it might or might not be related to what is happening here.

kind regards

If BIS really are planning to reveal Arma3, it can be safely assumed that they have been developing it for some time. They probably even secured Arma3.com at the same time as Arma2.com, simply because holding a domain is cheap.

I'm not saying they did or didn't create ArmA3.com, but that they've secured ownership of it since then. It's not been updated at all, but registar info was updated recently, same time ArmA4.com was purchased. Considering the site is pretty static and the updated date doesn't coincide with annual renewal, seems odd.

This is not the official web site of ARMA 3. This site has no connection with Bohemia Interactive or IDEA Games.

I say it has nothing to do with bis in any way. ( i can always be wrong )

I wonder why you don't just gloss over the armaenigma wiki. All this information is available for you to read there. If you bone up on it, and all of your compatriots who are attempting to participate in the discussion whom aren't fully up to speed also do that, we won't have to spend so much time re-referencing all the work we have already done. Compared to this thread, reading the wiki is practically nothing at all!
I've read every single post here, I just forgot that it was renamed as I was too focused on the mkdoc-website back then (another dead-end of mine). It was a lot of pages ago after all. :)

Anyways, although the mkultra/search project was real, mind-control in any real essence is still sci-fi.

That's good work, mate, it's starting to look like there's a case building here.

Not sure if it has any relation (probably doesn't) but just a coincidence. 1821 was also the year that the Evzones (the presidential guard)'s uniform (the one that includes that crazy pompom shoe) became the national Greek costume.

The other coincidence being that the slow worm and the Greek flower are both protected species. The flower protected by Greek presidential decree an the slow worm protected by British law.

Haven't we worked everything out now?

Would be useful if BIS hinted whether or not we had!

1. New Map / terrain technology - naval units deploying across europe - world will change

2. Naval Units - Submarines

3. Naval SF units - SBS Scott Miller

4. New Physics Engine - Ball smashing wall

5. Location likely based on Greece/Greek Islands and a War of Independence

That's it isn't it?

Maybe in E3 BIS will put their expansion\DLC for ARMA2, as well as show the future project such as ARMA3

anyone going to ITEC tomorrow ??? This may point us in the right direction....

#################

I also encourage ITEC attendees to visit our Innovation Showcase at 1215 on Wednesday, the 11th of May, where you can hear me talk about the VBS2 development roadmap for the next 12 months. We are rapidly heading towards the next generation of VBS technology and this presentation is your chance to get the scoop on the exciting new improvements.

That's about where we're at speculation wise, yeah. Hopefully tomorrow's hack will shed some more light on it.

Are you guys aware of the face that the Arma3.com website has existed for a long time now? with the same (unchanged) content. I think it went up right after the launch of arma2. Im pretty sure its unrelated.

Yes, but the site's domain was renewed on April 20th, 2011. Aswell as ArmA4.com. Which isn't when domains are usually renewed. Therefore, leading us to believe that BIS has purchased said domain from previous owner. Keeping it in their name. Keeping the site the same. All hush, hush.

But I dunno.

Sorry to say so, but that's bullshit!

Domains are renewed after they run out. So if you payed the domain for 2 years, the renewal will be 2 years after your initial purchase/reg.

So it's not by any means an indication that the owner changed. And if you say: They bought it, but they keep the old owners name in it, then it's not an update of the domain registry. The domain still belongs to the other guy unless it's updated in the DB.

Ofc if the owner changes, the Database gets updated.

The indication is that the previous clues all date from late April. So if it's an annual thing, it's very coincidental.

its abundantly clear this ARG is simply building up to a big announcement at E3. i mean, BIS already have a booth...

when defining "late april" as the last half of april, its a chance of 1/24 for having registered in the same time. Not "very coincidental" to me

A good number of the images and clue material has a creation date of April 20. Could be a coincidence but it's a pretty strong one.
