I wish BIS much success with "Take On Helicopters".

But for my (I) "Take NO Helicopters", me personally uninteresting on this part.

Just read that interview. Sounds very promising.

I hope BIS will pull it off - mostly because I want to see choppers in ArmA games to be much more simmy. Then it will be just as interesting flying them as playing infantry there.

Bigger terrains is what I want to see too. ArmA2 still doesn't provide the feeling that you are fighting in some country, not some area around small town.

Regular dose of new TOH's information. http://www.facebook.com/TakeOnTheGame

Tutorials!

We're finalising the dialogues for our interactive tutorials, merging feedback from several helicopter professionals, such as Michael Miller at the Heli Network.

Sometimes, though, the most obvious point is still the best to mention: "Do not feel your way toward the helicopter!"

Pre-flight tip of the day: don't forget to check for bird's nests in your exhaust!

I hope that they implement nest cleaning to the game :p. Is it true, that bird can make nest in exhaust?

I have a feeling I'm going to be spending quite a bit of time walking around. admiring the detail on the helicopters. then there's the scenery in the back.

actually, I wonder if I'll even get to fly at all.

Well, do you mean in real life or in our game? ;)

  • Yes, those pesky birds will nest anywhere they can!
  • Yes, we have a bird nest on our list of things to model.

Be warned, however, its priority falls somewhere between "fully operational gauges" and "wouldn't it be nice to model a full-size Godzilla? Guys..?"

...So we'll keep you updated on its progress! :)

Best,

RiE

"wouldn't it be nice to model a full-size Godzilla? Guys..?"

That had better actually be somewhere on your ToDo-list. :D

Is this military choppers or civilian

Mostly civilian, but it has been said that they will also make an armed military chopper.

Wow, impressed enough to give a community member a behind the scenes look, that is certainly something you don't see often, and thank you for generously sharing it with us :)

That looks wicked. Moody sky and great lighting, nice one BIS, and BoboCZ!

Please tell me the video was made flying on the "easy" setting. I did not see any left pedal or left cyclic on takeoff (counter-torque and adjusting for translating tendency). Also, that low frequency "whoosh whoosh whoosh" sound from the over-water scene is not accurate. I hope those were "movie trailer" sounds and not in-game audio.

It's hard to appreciate the cool visuals when some of the basics alot of us have been so much looking foreward to are not represented.

I know it's an early build, so please forgive the criticism.

It's better to pin video which nightsta1ker talking about.

I'm sure you are right with your notes, you speak for simulation community. If I can speak for oneself what I want is improved flighting model from Arma II. I really enjoy free flying in Chernarus or anywhere in armaversum, but now I feel that I could appreciated better flight model. So I expecting that flight in TOH will be challenging, difficult and that is what I'm looking forward it. Maybe I will became same sim freak like you ;).

edit: I will accept any difficultness, what I'll get, don't want any mercy. :)

This brings me to the idea, will be somehow possiblle to port Arma worlds to TOH, something like Arma I to Arma II, because Chernars is piece of art with all details and volleys, it would be a waste.

Note: There is hidden bonus 3 video.

Now I will point out something what I appreciated if could be improved. It's fire at night, night in RV3 is nice, but fire with smoke somehow corrupt impression. I know it's still WIP :).
