Huh..but why not just leave the feature in the PC version and take it out for console, then everyone can be happy.

Something i like is the surpression fire effect from Project Reality: if you get shot at in BF3 your view is blurred, making the gunner an invaluable support class.

Really like where this is going :)

That or DICE is just having fun messing around with IW.

Hell, they had a few Respawn (ex-IW) guys playing BF3 at E3 :D

Odd logic to alienate the more dedicated fanbase since battlefield has always been predominantly PC. Best of both worlds would be to make PC first then trim for the console, that way the console players don't whine about it being too complex and PC users don't feel betrayed, more money all around.

BF3 wouldn't require a quirky suppression fire gimmick if they dumped regenerating health and forced killed players to wait several minutes (in the morgue) before respawning.

Way too many mods to choose from, but TESnexus is probably THE place to look for good mods. I'd recommend starting off with the "Top 100 most endorsed files". There is also a total conversion "mod", which is basically a whole new game based on the Oblivion engine, called Nehrim: At Fate's Edge. A whole new story line, voices (in german actually, but comes also with english text), map, weapons, spells, etc. It's gotten great reviews.

It looks really nice, but i have a feeling it's gonna be more BC2 like then BF2. Also the fact that they're after the COD players doesn't sound too good. The MP map they showed seems to indicate that also ,more corridor like and not really free roam (parts of the map had an invisible wall! ).

There's no Command Rose, no MOD Tools, No true Dedicated servers, no Offline Bot playing. It's pretty much gonna be a run and gun game.

Wasn't it DICE themselves that said few months ago "sandbox games are boring". That should tell you all you need to know. I myself stopped caring after the no Mod Tools message.

I had some good online gameplay experiences with BC2, so im def looking forward to this. End of the day its gonna be a quality product packed full of new technology and stuff. Imo online is where its all at because you done have to worry about the AI making stupid mistakes or acting like morons running about like loony toons getting killed all the time. Yes it may be scripted alot but it works and after your done with the single player the online element is going to be even more fun. I just hope ArmA3 is alot less buggy and more stable.

They could have some BF2 Special Forces style maps, a few were mainly corridor the most of which being the aircraft carrier which only hand a land mass above for MEC boats and helicopters. They have aircraft so no doubt there are some large maps.

Yeah, I think I read that Rush maps will be infantry focused and Conquest will be more the traditional BF experience.

You kidding me? the TANK demo was played LIVE at E3. You had a guy in middle of the stage sitting infront of a pc controlling the tank and aiming!

Also the campaign videos. You can see a HUD ffs. it dont look fixed or fake to me.

im 99% sure thats the real game played. O and killzone 2 trailer?? it was a trailer/teaser. the other gameplay trailers where identical to the actual game.

pff maybe the gametrailer walkthrough of arma 3 is fake? ;)

Also, scripted? campaign modes are usualy scripted! Also people tend to forget that BF series are pvp games! i.e player vs player. no AI involved.

Compare apples to apples mate. how awsome is Arma 3 going to be via pvp is the question you should be asking mate.

arma 2's pvp is shocking. so shocking that project reality is stepping it to fix it.

Can't believe i'm going to quote myself

To be fair we can't be 100% certain that tank BF3 footage, nor any other campaign footage, is 100% in game and real (unless it was played on stage) and will occur all the time, everytime, and is not a scripted event.

Reminds me of the first Killzone 2 "trailer", though i'd be pleased if i were wrong.

I acknowledged that it could have been on stage gameplay, i never saw anything like it, only the trailer itself, and don't misinterpret my opinion as insult, as stated later in my post, i'd be pleased if my assertion were wrong.

The first vids released where you drag the guy from fire which many interpret to be in game? I believe that to be scripted. Getting in and out of vehicles? I believe that to be scripted (so far).

WAS NOT a teaser, it was claimed to be in game, later hastily corrected by a Sony PR guy, but we know they screwed up. The trailer showed on the fly player interaction with NPC's, such as being given a Missile launcher. THAT is what mean by scripted.

If you've got absolute evidence to the contrary, feel free to inform me. I'm just stating my opinion on videos seen.

I like Battlefield, its a good game.

I like ARMA 2 its a good game.

So come on you cant possibly compare these two games, they are equally good games with very different gameplay.

I thought that this was a serious and mature forum and not just a bunch of whining basterds.

I completely agree on all points, i'm not sure how my relatively easy going viewpoint on media seen so far on a game i haven't played was seen as armageddon.

DICE admitted after a lot of pressure that most of the pre-release "Gameplay" videos and screenshots for BC2 went through a "Super Antialiasing" process.

They were not realtime.

As for the BF3 live tank gameplay at E3... I didn't see any actual proof that he was in fact playing it.

Crytek did the same thing with Crysis 1. Staged videos with effects and damage that does not appear in the retail game. (IE. Korean soldier being thrown through a wall leaving a hole).

Time will tell but if videos in HD do not have even the slightest trace of Aliasing then something is up. No matter how powerful the GPU, Aliasing is unavoidable.

Why wouldn't you have AA? If DICE were serious about it being PC optimized, there should be no compromise. Give the PC as good as it can get, give consoles as good as they can get. Everyones happy.

The Super AA added to the "gameplay" footage is NOT realtime.

The actual scene is real but the level of AA is not possible in realtime.

I said nothing about not having AA.
