Anyway, it sounds to me like player warping might be improved (or should that be "decreased") if there's a new mechanism for it. Can only be a good thing.

That would be great :eek:

sadly i can't test this because the download speed is at time very slow ;)

Downloading right now, sound very promising :)

But one note BIS, please sort out the bandwidth, crawiling down with 17kb/s right now, possibly torrent is an alternative?

This beta has the worst performace ever seen for me, playing editor with just player and one A.I. gives umplayable performance at the south airport and in any of the small towns...I did no even rty a big town.

Before this beta I could play with modules on 3500m Viewdistance. with lots of A.I.

Windows XP 32

AMD Athlon 6000+ 3,1Ghz

2 GB Ram dual channel mode

ATI 4870 1 Gb Catalyst 10.10

sometimes the arma2oa.cfg shout be deleted. (save the old on !!!!) so it can read all settings new.

it helps sometimes....

Confirmed. Put Drive a Shilka on the bridge at grid 134089 and observe the show. Lowrider Shilka with pneumatics/hydraulics and everything :D Putting it there will place it on the ground below the bridge.

But AI will actually use the bridge sidewalks to walk across it. I didn't test other bridges, that I know used to be problematic, as I don't recall which ones they were, but maybe there is a change going on here?

I remember that jumping thing from Sahrani as well, on "foot AI friendly" bridges, although not as severe as this.

Uhm, weird... Maybe... I think... Not sure... Check out grid 134090 on Chernarus, both sides of the road. Did these fences always look like this? Metallic thing. If they did then disregard, I just thought they looked a bit out of place... Using some mods though right now.

Sry was a little brief before, specs are:

Core i7 @stock

6GB Corsair Ram

ATI 5970

ARMA 2 / OA @ SSD Intel X25

Win 7 64 Bit

No mods loaded, repro just a single soldier near Vyshnoye on Chenarus (near the old keep).

Just tested FPS with patch 74858 and the previous beta.

About 10-15 frames drop with everything @ very high except AA (low) and PP (normal). VD @ 4000

Hate to sound like a moderator but, is this realy helping BIS make fixes in beta state, IE what performance difference, rig, settings, how, where on the map, what were you running, how many AI, massive difference compared to what, another beta, what beta, vanilla, what fps benchmark difference .... etc.

Thanks for that mirror, the download speed was ridiculous without it, will give it a test in a bit.

Some of you guys getting bad performance might want to try defragging ur ARMA2 game folder with gamebooster or simular program if u have not done so.

I defrag mine after every update (beta, official patch and after updating mods like ACE mod etc)

It should be standard practice to defrag if u are constantly deleting/adding, updating stuff for ur game all the time. I always get smooth play after a defrag.

Gamebooster will defrag ur folder in 20-150 seconds depending on how much files have been fragmented.

I'm not sure if these were in previous builds (I haven't really been testing lately, sorry :( ), but there seems to be new video options for HDR Quality and VSync. However, the VSync option doesn't seem to work for me (nothing shows up in the pulldown menu. Is this a known issue?

The main version number for this beta patch was updated to 1.55 (instead of 1.54).

So you are not able to play on 1.54 servers with this patch anymore.

Yeah, this kinda sucks. No servers currently (that I can see, anyway) are running the new beta patch, so MP is kinda out for this one so far.

Buffer to small - nowhere to write the data

game locks but not my system. Have to go to task manager to kill game.

When I back date the beta, message goes away. I have plenty of disk space.

This is the size of the internal buffer used for scene management. Can you post here your settings (view distance, object detail) and what world / which location shows the problem for you?

I'm running into the very same problem when I try to play Chernarus or Zargabad with my Takistan settings (1920x1080, 3DRes 2192x1232, VD 8000m (10000 when I'm flying planes), PP Very Low, AA Low, HDR Normal. Everything else on High or very High).

I usually change the settings for Chernarus/Zargabad ingame depending on the location. This isn't possible anymore. I need to change the settings before I load Chernarus. When I set the view distance to 6000-7000m I can load Chernarus (5000-6000m for Zargabad). It's annoying but I can live with it since it's a beta patch.

System specs are in my sig.

Performance for Takistan is slightly improved though. Trees are looking much better now when you're moving fast. No LOD problems so far.

Still no names in action menu of spawned units in multiplayer and the voice still is slowed down.

Someone please can confirm this?

Just had a quick test and noticed the following which I haven't seen before (I usually don't play in 3rd perspective view) so don't know if this (minor) animation anomaly is new to this beta..

While prone and start to crawl forward the weapon swings out besides the body, see screenshots...

Confirmed. But it isn't new. The bug was there for quite a while now.

Also an old issue (now with pics and repro mission). This damn "auto stand feature" while crawling besides low walls have gotten me killed many times so a gentle reminder so it's not forgotten

All settings on Very High except post processing very low, terrain is high

interface 1580x1050

3d - 1344x840

Was at sea off of berezino in an AAV. As soon as I try to go to outside view it locks.

There is a new bug with the Radar of Chopper and Planes...

Cant lock on with hellfires or 30mm on Cars like Ural ZU32 via TAB. The AI detects the targets very late/Not at all. Same with A-10 or AV8, no target box no more and the enemys are only grey on the radar.

Can someone confirm this? Lock on and Hitboxes still working for Armored vehicles, not for cars like ZU-32.

I got this same problem twice at "Razor Two."

1st time program halted when it was loading map when Dressler shows places for increased activity and 2nd time when I tried to disembark from hummer near Dressler's base.

Settings: AA-off, hdr-quality: normal, everything else very high, view distance 6463

Exactly the same for me, first beta I have serious problems with :(

This happens not only ingame, but in intro- movie (to mission) also, no matter which location.

Settings are:

everything on very high

vid mem default

AA and HDR on normal

5 k VD

1920 * 1080 desktop

2192 * 1232 3d

Win7, I7, HD 5850, 6 gig
