Hurby 0 Posted October 7, 2010 Phew yeah, it's like they all work together, in the same building even, and discuss every PR move they're gonna make... Oh wait... ;)
maddogx 13 Posted October 7, 2010 Maybe we could stick to the topic and discuss BIS and the dev interviews elsewhere? ;)
CriminalMinds 10 Posted October 7, 2010 @MadDogX Yeah alright, but the interview contains very interesting things like this: And can you give us a random fact about yourself?I'm a bit of a code freak, often nesting little jokes within scripts. I still can't decide if the universal constant for all calculations should be 42 or 1138. And the number 1138 appears at this site again: http://ion-inc.com/careers If you require a reasonable accommodation to apply for a position, please call 1-800-555-1138 Greetings CriminalMinds
CW001 10 Posted October 7, 2010 And the mystery deepens... Wouldn't it be annoying if this turned out to be a big mindgame leading us away from the truth? I'm half expecting that now.
Hurby 0 Posted October 7, 2010 Well that's easy, while 42 is the "ultimate answer" from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the number 1138 is associated with George Lucas and his movies (one of his old films being THX 1138, mentioned in many many later films of his). Which pretty much shows us that Karel is a sci-fi freak and probably also the creator of the website.

AnimalMother92 10 Posted October 7, 2010 lies! :p Our upcoming work will add a new faction to the Armaverse; we'll see one or two new nationalities, and a focus upon more modern theme.
andersson 285 Posted October 7, 2010 All this chat about hidden stuff made me look for the old OFP page with "the suicase-man". Is that page still up? I know fun.bi is still there..
Smurf 12 Posted October 7, 2010 lies! :p The beginning of the modern era started approximately in the 16th century. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_Era Holy cow! A whole new direction to the series then.

maddogx 13 Posted October 8, 2010 So, getting back on topic, I watched the recent editor tutorial videos again yesterday, and noticed some interesting mission/map names in RoyaltyinExiles missions folder: Merc2.Arulco Hedgehog.EmeraldHill FVII.Gaia The first one seems to refer to Jagged Alliance 2, the second one to Sonic The Hedgehog. No idea what FVII could mean. I'm just thinking, could it be possible that these have been used as hints for usernames/passwords? I tried the most obvious combos but with no success. maddogx 13 Posted October 8, 2010 I have no idea what this thread is about but try reading it from last page to first - very much like the classic film Memento -except twice as confusing! To summarize: This new ION, Inc website was made by BIS (probably Gaia). The "Client" section requires a username and password. So far seven of these logins are known, each leading to a tidbit of background information on what is most likely a future PMC DLC + campaign.
AnimalMother92 10 Posted October 8, 2010 FVII.GaiaNo idea what FVII could mean. Obviously, Factor VII The main role of factor VII (FVII) is to initiate the process of coagulation in conjunction with tissue factor...Factor VII deficiency presents as a hemophilia-like bleeding disorder. So clearly, we can see that Mark Reynolds will have hemophilia, that the player must cope with in the campaign. If you're shot and start bleeding, you're basically SOL, unless of course you manage to get the recombinant factor VIIa (NovoSeven). Either that, or medics can no longer magically stop bleeding by waving their arms around you? The plot thickens...
