ACE 1.5 (Advanced Combat Environment) for OA/CO

What other Mods are you running? There may be a conflict. There's no replies cause nobody can give good advice. This problem you are having is not due to ACE2, it doesn't happen for just about everyone else. Everything you've described should have the keys working. There's gotta be something else you are using that is conflicting.

Also, although your problem is clear, your not giving a lot of info about the set-up you are using. Are you using other mods? A launcher of some sort? Which ACE2 version are you running? What A2/OA/CO version are you running? Betas?

One last thing. The devs have stated that if you have any troubles posting here will likely get ignored. It's just too hard for them to follow all the conversations. If you really want help by someone that knows what's going on, post your problem in the bug tracker for ACE2. If you post there, one of the devs will help you.

Im running the latest version from Kellys Heroes Arrowhead ACE2 repository. Seems to be something else then. ill try dev heaven if nobody can help here!

tbh mate i have done so much testing and every thing I am told to do makes no diff even though according to sickboy etc it should like cutting scripts etc.

Do you have a RAID 0 setup? even if its not the hard drive ACE is on etc?.

Any ways I is still working on it as when i can to figure this ass out hahaha.

BTW I dont get half FPS with ACE I loose about 12 fps consistently.

Even removing the @ACE stuff makes no diff really.

Just a thought you running ACE using BETA if so do a benchmark without ACE using the nnone BETA EXE then do same test using ACE with none BETA EXE and report what ya get here.

I'm using CO 1.54 on Steam, and I've just updated ACE mod with Yoma Addon Sync. I've just run the tests, both with sound mods. I've yet to defrag after installation.

With @CBA,@ACE, @ACEX, @ACEX_RU, @ACEX_USNavy:

Arma 2 Benchmark 01 - 44 fps

Arma 2 Benchmark 02 - 13 fps

Operation Arrowhead Benchmark - 48 fps

Vanilla:

Arma 2 Benchmark 01 - 50 fps

Arma 2 Benchmark 02 - 21 fps

Operation Arrowhead Benchmark - 51 fps

You see the most difference with Arma 2, and since I wanted to play the Red Harvest campaign, that's important to me so I'd like to know what's causing these performance hits.

Well that confirms me results even more I have some thing wrong

I got some thing wrong here.

You are getting what every one else does when running ACE just a drop of about 2-3fps.

Is that test where ya got 13fps the one at night? if so its a taxing test I think a lot of peeps get around that I did I got about 22fps tbh.

44-50 frame difference I can understand, but 13 to 21 is basically cutting my frames in half. Yeah that particular benchmark is taxing, but why? it's not the explosions, because obviously there's less of them. Maybe it's how the damage is calculated? Something with the AI? Will using a different AI mod help the frames? it runs so nice in Vanilla lol.

Umm, I'm also getting CTDs when I try to load save files...yeaaaah ACE is unplayable until that's fixed. Is it due to using ACEX also?

maybe harvest read is not meant to be played with ace mod

It's really not although I did it. Missions really need to be made for ACE2 in order to get the most out of it.

Hmmmm. That's odd. I never got that unless I was trying to load a save that was done under a previous version of either ACE2 or the A2 betas.

Probably I downloaded from the wrong server. Speaking of which, when I saved the game it was during the VTOL/Fixed Wing practice and I saw a green helicopter with the grey ones. Maybe it was a mismatch?

Does the CTD happen with all loads?

I've had this problem occur in the past but it was always a mismatched save to current version problem or a 3rd party AddOns/Mod that is causing the problem. It shouldn't be ACE2 related unless you've found a bug.

I deleted all my previous saves, reinstalled mods, made a new save and it still crashes.

Did you try disabling all mods but ACE2/ACEX?

CTD are ACE2 related when you change some settings of the key assignments. I changed to the default key settings and saves "mostly", not always work. But sometimes when the missions get complex I still experience CTD's.

I make very complex missions and have never seen a CTD in the latter ACE2 releases. Which mission are you playing? Is it strictly made for ACE2?

No Manzilla. The refueling mission was able to be saved and loaded without incident, but the boot camp F-35 practice is the one that won't load. Btw the Chernarus helicopter is in the mission without ACE, so it's not that. I'm hoping this isn't a bug but something I'm doing wrong so I'll be able to play vanilla missions.

I tried updating the userconfig via sixupdater. However I now have two ace folders, one with ace_clientside_config.hpp [which contains the rucksack model disabler], ace_serverconfig.hpp & Settings, while the other is called ACE_1288056302 [which I am certain is the one I had before] with ace_clientside_config.hpp, ace_keys.hpp, ace_serverconfig.hpp & ace_tracking.hpp.

Do I just need one of those, however cartridges staying on the ground doesn't appear with the ace folder's ace_clientside_config.hpp but does contain the ruckless option, while the ACE_1288056302 folder's ace_clientside_config.hpp does contain the cartridge option but not the ruckless one.

Is it viable to delete both folders & redo the sixupdater clientside config checker? Or can both just stay where they are?

So should I report a bug or am I doing something wrong? It sounds very odd to need default settings so the game works. Is there a version of ACE and CBA that works better with the singleplayer? I'm using the latest downloads from the Kelly's Heroes addon server right now. Both boot camp and the red harvest campaign crash when I try to load save games.

What happened to the rpg? Shooting a anything less than a t-72 with a rpg-7v Is an instant crew kill EVERY time. I should not be able to kill an m2a3 with a single rpg every single time. I hope you guys aren't trying to balance the forces.

Did you test it over and over? also it matters where you hit, plus there there is also the variable of what warhead you're using, if you give us more information, you will probably get some info on it.

Yep tested it over and over. On multiple apcs from bmps to m2a3s. Using rpg-7v, rpg-7vl, Etc. From all angles. Top, side, rear, front, all killed crew. Place a Bradley 200 meters away and shoot it. Pretty easy to reproduce.

You want the new one called "ACE" with ace_clientside_config, ace_serverconfig and settings. Delete the old one.

Hi I'm stuck with ACE 1.3 cause I don't have OA.

I really like it but I'd like to know which features it includes (I feel I've barely scratched the surface).

I had a look here: http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/Features

But it seems to include all ACE features, i.e. including those from the latest version of ACE (v1.5?).

So is there any way to filter out ACE 1.5 features so that I only see ACE2 1.3 features?

The new in-game control option for ace 1.5 seems good. However I am no longer able to use F to switch between rifle firemods [+ JUST rifle firemodes] & shift & F to switch to grenades. Is there a way to do it as I was able to do it before in 1.5?
