  1. 1. What are the most important sounds for you while using JSRS?

    • The weapon sounds!
    • The vehicle sounds!
    • Environmental sounds!
    • Explosions, Soniccracks, Bullethits, the sound of danger!
    • The script features like the "distance sounds"!
    • Everything combined! The whole Mod itself is important.

nice sound effects

I give 9/10 for it.

But just a question

It is for CO or OA Only?

Its for CO and OA! a few little problems with ONLY CO at the moment though!

ok, thx for the info.

Don't you mean some problems with ONLY OA? How would it not have problems with OA but have them with CO?

It could be problem with the A2 content in CO.

That would make it have problem with ONLY CO instead of Only OA.

P.s. That was just a guess.

Erm,.. cause its having errors with ArmA2! but none with OA ... thats why!

Im thinking, the way to fix this is to make it a whole package playable on CO and OA then hopefully without errors!

Em,.. strange, alot of us were getting an error:

Cannot load sound 'jsrs_uh1\uh1_ext_high.wss'

Cannot load sound 'jsrs_m134\m134_s4.wss'

And also:

No entry "bin\config.bin/Cfg.TalkTopics.Core_E

Amongst others! .. anyways, its still in Beta, and I went through the whole thing and found that if you remove these files:

JSRS_AH6J.pbo

JSRS_AH6J_c.pbo

JSRS_AH64E.pbo

JSRS_AH64E_c.pbo

JSRS_CH47.pbo

JSRS_CH47_c.pbo

JSRS_Movement.pbo

JSRS_Movement_c.pbo

Then you shouldnt have anymore errors "SO FAR" .. cause they are for OA.

:p ... Sorry, my bad! yes its just with Only A2, but still works fine! just with

errors on game load up!

Unfortunately it doesn't work fine with A2: besides the errors, no saved SP game can be loaded. Unless you delete the mentioned .pbos.

Anyways, great soundmod, even with this small A2 complication.

So, now I was not here for several days and had to really read through several pages firstonce.

So, thanks for the sympathy firstonce.

The mod is being discussed apparently hasty and all will getting nervous as I notice. I have long used to find some time to work on the mod.

So second, sorry. It Took too long.

I have some problems trying to solve. Most of them with success. Since most problems were simply caused only because of sloppy work that was partially solved quite simple. I also added new explosions also cover mortar strikes. All explosions were repeatedly revised.

As I mentioned, I'll edit the helicopter until the next update, or not, until even later.

All Pistols were revised just as several guns.

The Movement was a little now fixed in the config to make it a little to adjust the volume.

Most Environment sounds were replaced by new ones and are also created in Stereo for a realistic impression.

All in all, there are about 150 new sound effects.

Heres the Readme, the mod will getting uploaded today. In may 3 or 4 Hours the new Version, 0.55, will be online. WITCH SIGS NOW!

Yes, Error with OA only

Need to seperate those gun sounds from A2, in order to make it no error with OA only

I could only suggest that you could pack the files seperately for easy install

Coz I dont know which are OA sound and which are A2 gun sounds

The Problem is, there are weapons used in OA and Arma2, so i have to make two different versions of the weapon. Its a config thing, and it will be done, but first i have to make this Beta running. Than i split the mod in different, single downloads. Vehicles, Weapons, Vehicleweapons, Environment, Movement, OA-Stuff.

But this will take some time.

I know you've put a lot of work into this mod and your efforts are appreciated at this end.

This thing is going to become as indispensable as WarFX on my system. Damn fine job!

However , one of the major immersion killers in BI's ArmA series IMO is the sound level of the discharges. There's a reason orders are hollered out during a fire fight..the intense , ear splitting noise of rifle/MG fire. You can't even stand in front of a tank when it's firing because of the concussion.

Now I know it's not reasonable (or safe) to expect that level of volume in a video game but there must be a happy medium between BI's Air Soft/Pain Ball (which actually are louder) sounds and the sound level of actual high powered weapons. Anything you can do about this?

Possibly there's a value in a script that the user could modify to suite his own tastes?

(fyi - just turning up the volume doesn't help really as all the other sounds are increased proportionally).

Other than that..this is a great work of art and I'm looking forward to the improvements as time goes by.

There are things you can change in the config files, but this is only the pitch of a sounds and the Range, distance you can hear the sound. I think to change the volume i have to do it directly on the .wav or .wss file.

But i keep your request in mind.
