CriminalMinds 10 Posted March 1, 2013 (edited) I already posted this on [...]it was on reddit leaked by some guy? is this an nda break? [...] Sure this might be the reason why the other thread was deleted without further notice... so you better remove those links. Edit: Whoops, it wasn't deleted... it was moved. Sorry. :) Edited March 2, 2013 by CriminalMinds

nodunit 397 Posted March 2, 2013 (edited) You really shouldn't watch VBS2 videos, you'll get your hopes up....then again plenty of old VBS2 tech has made its way into Arma over the years, and there are similarities between the 2.0 videos and Arma 3 sooo who knows, might see more tech making its way. DarkDruid 96 Posted March 2, 2013 AWESOME! thanks for clarifying also was he just moving around or is the mk200 kick really that bad because the mk200 has about the rate of fire as the mx-c but cant seem to stay on target nearly as well? That video is relatively old. Recoil of all weapons has been adjusted in the meantime. But it's just alpha, try it in the game and give us feedback. :)
nodunit 397 Posted March 2, 2013 You mean that ArmA 3 doesn't contain VBS2 ?!!! Fraid not, VBS2 , Virtual Battle Space 2, is an actual training tool used by militaries around the world and is developed by Bohemia Interactive Australia. While the two DO share technologies, the civilian release is going to be a few steps behind in some ways. That said, there will no doubt be some 2.0 tech in Arma 3. For example VBS2 saw the first use of physX, Render to Texture and thermal imaging, all of which is going into Arma 3...so keep your fingers crossed, but don't get your hopes TOO high. That video is relatively old. Recoil of all weapons has been adjusted in the meantime. But it's just alpha, try it in the game and give us feedback. :) Oh I'm sure you'll get plenty of feedback, the question is, are your bodies ready?

Amuro 10 Posted March 2, 2013 Is ARMA3 still going to feature jets? I don't see them mentioned under the Vehicles section anymore.
Maio 293 Posted March 2, 2013 Is ARMA3 still going to feature jets? I don't see them mentioned under the Vehicles section anymore. Yes. The website has to be updated and the content presented there does not do the final game justice. Also there is a high chance that the Alpha will not include Jet's. dannynickelov 1 Posted March 2, 2013 Alpha will most probably include 2 choppers as seen in gameplay videos.
zaksle75 1 Posted March 2, 2013 So ARMA 3 isn't going to simulate body armor related to VBS? Just gonna be able to shoot a guy and he falls dead instead of lets say shooting a 5.56 at a range against another solder with armor and it just goes through and kills him? No simulation there...? Says who? We know that Arma3 will feature different kinds of vests and helmets, though there isn't much info about the varying levels of protection they will provide. Molov 1 Posted March 2, 2013 (edited) It's not going to be exactly sim in every single aspect due to gaming limitations, It is a game and has to still appeal to a mass market. It would also be very difficult to simulate a bullet resistance vest in game which upon getting shot throws the player to the ground. You have to except the limitations, they've suggested there will be a lot of different equipment so as MadDogx says there may be armor types or various protection, but suspect these will just increase the players resistance to gun shots or explosions and wont simulate impact. Yeah you're probably right, the armour system will probably be very basic, ie. just make the ccharacter suffer a perctage of the normal damage dealt. But I think the new gear/clothing system will allow mods to improve on this a ton. Man, arma 3 is going to be awesome.
