Dynamic Vehicle Loadouts feedback
CaptainAzimuth replied to granQ's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
Yeah, that's actually for me quite disappointed. I thought they were just holding off because all the assets aren't done yet. (Like the fuel tanks, sensor pods, etc. Mentioned in the biki) Still wondering if they're actually going to do it. I don't have my hopes up based on when they said they'd considered expanding VIV to other existing vehicles like the Huron, etc. It would still be nice to get those small diameter bombs too. -

Yeah, depends on the PvP though. I play one a fully militarized Exile server, so people have the time to set up based and what not, land jets, bring up their ammunition truck and use it to refit their aircraft based on mission. Now, that I think about it, it wouldn't be tedious in many PvP scenarios, unless it was a fast paced mission. Not many of those exist. -

I'm a large fan of immersion, despite not being a weapons engineer, having to go to each pylon individually is a treat of it's own. More immersive than a 2D screen, but I'm fine with any dynamic loadout system as long as it allows use in game. =D -

Wow! See now that's awesome. This is exactly like the way Star Citizen does it's Loadout system. -

helicopters The helicopters and Jets are fine but....
CaptainAzimuth replied to lysan's topic in ARMA 3 - GENERAL
I too had a sort of "dream" of Arma 3 and DCS being compatible in some ways. However, this likely isn't going to come to fruition in our current realm. Hahaha, but maybe at aime point someone will make a game like that. Outerra is nice, but it's a bare bones engine that uses a flight aim as a basis. It's still in it's infancy, and some companies like the one making Titan IM still have a looong way to go before they make something even close to the quality of Arma 3. Now, as for Arma itself, the only way you could have such big maps, is if it were a large archipelago type map, or a large map with a small amount of buildings and such. So basically just countryside roads, mountains, forests, plains, etc. -
Blastcore Tracers A3
CaptainAzimuth replied to Opticalsnare's topic in ARMA 3 - ADDONS & MODS: COMPLETE
I was also thinking it would be epic for tracers to have light source as it does emit light, of course, but the question remains, the limitation or rather the performance hit that comes from light sources from large amounts of tracers. -

I'm still a hardcore fan of having a Vanilla answer to everything that's added. For example, there still insnt very much use to the Vehicle In Vehicle option for ammo crates, mainly because most of the VIV stuff hasn't been expanded to other vehicles, or maybe because it simply flew under the radar. I'm sure someone's picked it up, but it's something that could have or rather, should have had much heavier use in missions (vanilla logistics with minimal mod requirement). I don't exactly feel the same way about the Dynamic Loadout, but I still feel there should at least be a bare bones vanilla version, via. Park jet next to missle rack/ammo truck/vehicle ammo crate/Huron ammo crate, etc., and get a simple menu that allows changing of weapons specific to said faction. But I'm ok with modders also picking up the torch from this point, but I guess maybe it's just that some of us, or maybe just me, are a bit anxious. Haha, but still. -
This is actually something I would have expected from the Tac Ops DLC... nice work.

Video? Cus I've found that even with CCIP my rounds, rockets and bombs are always hit or miss give or take 30 meters, maybe more, of course the munition dispersion tightens as you get closer to the target. -

Alot of the heli's that have possible loadouts cannot use such weapons, either efficiently because there's no targeting sight, or because there's no mechanism for locking. These should be fixed first before adding new things to the existing presets. -
TAC-OPS DLC discussion (speculation and hopes)
CaptainAzimuth replied to goldblaze's topic in ARMA 3 - DLC
Throwing knife, Zip tie, more official options for usage of mines usage and placement/attachment/traps. More options for UAV terminal, toggling data-link on drones. Use for the tactical glasses (google glass type of gadget), which allows marking of targets and visualization depending on the marker, drone/infantry spotting/ etc. -

And here i was thinking it would have been straight forward for BI to add the loadout System to ammo Trucks/Crates/Boxes/Cargo Objects. This is what most people would expect, but there really is about 2 best ways to do it. The Eden version, or the Virtual Arsenal Version. I think the Virtual Arsenal Version i best for in game iteration because of the 3D representation it provides. Perhaps a vote? -

mentioned it as soon as the loadout was added to the hellcat, no update on it so, we'll see. I'm hoping the next update also brings the in game dynamic loadout. Has anyone tried changing weapons in game yet? -
Thats... that would be amusing actually. XD

I disagree with that. Most people moan for 30 mins or more when stubbing their toe. Getting shot/injured and surviving will probably result In such moans for hours on end. This is why there are medical supplies in game. Your not supposed to be running around while your wounded, much less injured. Heal up, and problem solved. Next people will complain they can't tell they were injured cus there's little to no sound.

I think it's fair. While testing, the Gryphon is fun. However, it isn't stealth, and as such, is only good at close in fights... If it can get close. Otherwise it must engage other targets visually, unless it shows up on radar. I found I've only been able to track the Shikra and Black Wasp II with my visual sensor. Most times unaware of other threats until I had already been fired upon.

True, but I wasn't really saying they should release it regardless of polish to release date. I'm mainly hopeful they can come through with the feature before launch. -

That's probably relevant to the Tac-Ops DLC. They said they're still working on it. May 16 is coming up fast though. -
Love the Gryphon. It's such a neat little fighter, despite not having the speed, altitude and stealth capacities of its opposition, however the STOL makes up for that.

I wouldn't hold your breath too much, you might pass out. You should be excited because they've mentioned other things like fuel tanks, sniper pods, and possible EW pods in the Dynamic Loadout wiki. Thus, in assuming, there's gotta be more weapons. If not, they not hard to implement. -

This is actually my greatest fear of this DLC. Releasing without the in game access to Dynamic Loadouts. -

CaptainAzimuth replied to oukej's topic in ARMA 3 - DEVELOPMENT BRANCH
If I'm not mistaken, the Wiki for Dynamic Loadouts states that it's intended to eventually have a variety of options such as sniper pods, sensors (WE Suites), etc. So I suppose that we could get some pods that help against certain threats, for example maybe the AH-9 could equip a flare dispenser pod with very limited ammo, or maybe the Gryphon could get some sort of jammer pod. We don't even have all the items for Dynamic loadout, so it's worth noting that there may be more options in the near future regarding EW suites for some of the aircraft that don't currently have integrated defenses.- 955 replies

Unrealistic for two, yes, but one, no. But l let's not forget, that a rocket pod is probably heavier than a 20mm pod with little ammo, I'm not for certain, I'll do the research in a minute, but judging by the size of the pod, and the size of the rocket pod with rockets with varying number and size, it's not out of scope... not to mention, it's 2035, the AH-9, likely more powerful than the AH-6, in terms of armaverse. =P
